I used RT Services as my trash pickup service the year that I lived in Elizabeth. There are limited options for trash pickup in the area, and RT was the most affordable. Over the year that I had them as my provider, I had very good service most of the time.
This is a good example of a small business where you experience both the highs and the lows. I found the office staff to be very friendly and helpful, unfortunately calls would frequently go to voice-​mail, which was sometimes full. I set up auto-​billing, and it would work fine for a couple months, then it would not auto-​bill, and I would receive a late notice on paper. They always cheerfully fixed it and refunded the late fee, but I had to call every time this occurred. The trash pickup guys did a very good job, and took whatever you put out. However, sometimes they would not come until very late in the day, or on occasion, the next day. On some occasions, if a worker called in sick, the owner himself would be out after dark picking up trash. So, the dedication of the business owner was quite strong.
When the main truck broke down, service was disrupted. They were very upfront about apologizing the the delay, but could not provide a prediction for when service would resume. Some people did not receive pick up for a couple weeks, and were pretty frustrated. They did offer a service credit after this was resolved, but you had to contact them and request it. So, although I had several frustrations in working with this company, overall, the did a pretty good job (just not all the time).
