TJ Rockwell’s is super popular in this area. At dinner time, the parking lot is always packed. It’s good but I give it 3 stars since it doesn’t quite live up to the hype it gets. The food is good for this kind of place(sort of like Chili’s or Applebees, but with a more local feel). But if you are craving American Bar & Grill style food, burgers, fries, and drinks its hard to go wrong there.

Used to be a go to for my family, but recently I’ve noticed that the prices have increased and service quality has decreased severely. The last two times I’ve been there I’ve waited up to an hour for my food. After the lengthy wait, there were multiple errors for our orders. Not worth the money for bar food. Very disappointed and will not be going back anymore.

Just pulling in, the parking configuration is like an obstacle course. Within Fifty seconds of pulling in: I almost got smashed by a car about to pull out, and highly considered driving over two senior men(who were causally standing in the middle of the parking lot having a conversation, and had no interest about three tons of metal edging towards them slowly. next time.). The food here, although over-priced, is actually agreeable as far as bar food goes. Its pretty standard, but presented well enough, and tastes fine… for bar food. probably mostly processed. but whatever. The service however, is just a hot mess. You have hosts/hostesses who are probably freshmans, or sophmores in high school who could care less about customer service, but they’re probably under paid. but still. Our waitress, was a non-entity service wise. I literally had to take two empty glasses up to the bar area and locate her to ask for refills(this was about after twenty minutes of watching her doing nothing, but chomping on food at bar, and aimlesly shuffling plates around with no real destination).she was elderly, so she got a free pass and decent tip, but had no concept of food service. Worse yet, there were food runners bringing out all the food! .Additionally, the place was dirty as well. multiple tables hadn’t been cleaned, and the floors beneath, looked like a war zone child. More: there was dried up dirt, liquid, whatever on the walls eight inches from my face. The place seems too amped up and massive size wise. maybe they should scale down, and concentrate on good food, service, atmosphere. none which really exist now. Time for management to step in, and clean this place up, in more ways than one… But clearly, they don’t care either.

Food is delicious. Rhino fries are one of the things I look forward to the most. I always enjoy a nice meal while there. Service can be slow on those busy days, but that is to be expected

I will not go here anymore. It’s always a long wait(even if they don’t seem busy). It’s difficult to get anyone on the phone to make reservations and the food is mediocre.

The atmosphere is nicer than their food. Their menu hasn’t changed much in the 13 years. The KW chicken and shrimp dinner and rhino fries are my two favorites. They need to offer a few calorie light foods. Their salads are ok because they put to much meat and cheese on it. Ask for dressing on the side.

This is a great local American style pub — though much larger in scale. The food was good and the drinks were generous and potent. I enjoyed the fajitas(one of the few places that supplies you with enough fajitas for your meal!), and the meat was well cooked and generous as well! They also offer a «mug club» with a handmade ceramic cup you can keep that offers you a year long discount for $ 35 up front. If you’re a local it may very well be worth your while.

We frequently ordered take out from here but after receiving a quesadilla so burnt tonight that it wasn’t even palatable, we will no longer support such a place. This is the third time in a row that we have ordered take out from here and have had an issue. Something is always wrong, missing or the food is gross. Try to call to speak to a manager and they are never available to talk to you. Horrible customer service and gross food. Try lucky duck or Hennigans for take out. They are much better!

Rockwell’s is a go to dinner stop of Elizabethtown College students and community members. I have three favorite things about Rockwell’s, which I will explain below. THEDECK– The outside deck and re-done outdoor area is PERFECT. I look forward every year to the first couple of warm days in order to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the outside seating and bar area. If able, this would be the best place to sit in the summer and spring months. THEHAPPYHOUR– Similarly with the outside bar and deck, Rockwell’s happy hour cannot be beat. Between 5 and 7, they have a few beers on special(typically $ 2.50 and $ 3.50 drafts) along with half price appetizers. The appetizers feature a good selection food and the portions are pretty hefty for a total price of only $ 4-$ 5. I never have to be asked twice to head over to Rockwell’s any week night for this deal. If I Had to pick a 4th thing I adore it would be Rockwell’s craft beer night on Wednesdays. Another staple that I never have to be asked to attend. THEFISHBOWLS– The fishbowls are unimaginable, unbelievable value for a fun drink and ability to try something different. But trust me, split your first one with a friend! Service at Rockwells can be hit or miss, especially if its busy and your seated at the bar.

Food was okay. gets pretty busy. meaning long wait for a waitress attention. Good spot if you have loud noisy kids because the noise level is pretty noisy. Overall it was an okay spot for me nothing special.

I don’t know where to start. Greeter let the door close on my face, food took over 30 minutes to arrive with no apology, and food was not very good. Between the rude staff and bad food we won’t go back.

I normally like Rockwell’s food but I was disappointed by the lobster bisque. I ordered a bowl as it was billed as «made with real chunks of lobster». Well they must have run out through a sieve because is was only a bowl of cream soup flavored slightly like lobster. A bit too rich without any meat or veggies to temper it. I go here for the burgers, never again for the lobster bisque.

A Victim of Its Own Success. We have enjoyed TJ Rockwell’s for years and, it is regrettable we are choosing to do so no longer. It was jammed packed on a recent Friday with waiting times of 50 minutes. There is no room inside for all those people to wait and people are packed in face to face with one another. And, when one fellow coughed right in my face and I called him on it, he thought fighting might be a good idea. Parking is also problematic. The lot is not paved and spaces are not marked. To their credit, they sometimes have attendants to direct the flow. But, when they don’t it can be a bit chaotic and frustrating. In the past, we’ve taken these annoyances in stride. However, with their increasing frequency and intensity we will, unfortunately, be doing so no longer.

This place is huge. Large bar, plenty of dining space, and a big deck out back for the summertime. The food selection however is not huge. Almost everything on the menu is fried or covered in cheese. I realize that this is a bar restaurant but could you not fry everything? The service was good for a Saturday night and they did have call ahead seating. I think they charge a little much for their drinks given the type of atmosphere they are portraying.

You all need to clean up your act. I live less than a mile from this restaurant, so I might only patronize due to proximity. We have had multiple occasions where the service is downright terrible. We have been seated and never waited on. We have been waited on and never served. Tonight we experienced both. Let me be perfectly clear, this is not the fault of the wait staff or bartenders, this is the fault of management. Tonight our server/bartender was run ragged. She couldn’t keep up with the bar and tables that are in the bar area, and I can’t fault her. These are large areas that seat over 30 people in all, nearly impossible for even the best server. Management simply needs to employ more individuals to meet the needs of the customers and all of this would be resolved. Nonetheless, I joined the mug club tonight solely for the cool mug and discount on future purchases(again proximity dictates our patronage and the takeout service is often very good). We will be going back, and I will revise this review if warranted. Please make some changes, because this place could be very good! Try the Santa Fe Quesadilla, you won’t be disappointed.

The only reason this place gets 3 stars is because of the 4 ½ star service that we received. We used to love Rockwells… something has changed. The restaurant itself was filthy. When we sat down(near the fire which was nice), the table itself was so greasy I didn’t want to touch anything. The drink menu was also equally as greasy. This is extremely disappointing. We realized towards the end of our meal that the bus boys were using rags to clean tables that weren’t even wet. Where is the sanitizer bucket? This place could use a good scrubbing. I’ve waited tables and can understand, but to actually see an employee kind of just dust off a table was gross. The food was decent… their fries are amazing. However I got to thinking if the dining room is that bad, how does the kitchen look? This being said, we ordered two burgers which were very good. They were cooked very well which was nice. I just cannot get over the grease everywhere. Service was good. No real complaints there. I just can’t get over how downhill this place has gone. I’m okay if I don’t go back there for a VERY long time.

Really?? I’m sick of writing negative reviews because it seems like it’s the only reason I come to Unilocal but Rockwells has earned it: Why does this place even rate 3 stars on Unilocal? Is it because the dining in Elizabethtown has been nothing but pathetic for at least a generation and the people in the area don’t know any better? I live nearby and do frequent this place but only because it is close to my house.

So I have been to Rockwell’s a few time since I have lived in Lancaster. I hate the parking lot and they really need to re do it but, they have the best cheese fries, or as they call them Rhino fries. I think it’s because they use I think two different kinds of cheese. So I can get over the horrible parking situation. Now for this trip I was taken there because I need food but I didn’t know what I wanted other then cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, soft pretzels, and wings. Well the nice thing is you can get all that and more on the Rhino Tour. That would be a massive plate of nothing but appetizers. We had wimpy bacon cheese burgers, onion rings, boneless honey bbq wings, rhino fries, and pretzel logs. Now it comes with 4 sauces but we requested cheese sauce instead of honey mustard, and our waitress swapped out a sauce for extra bbq for our wings. On the menu it says right there that this tour is enough food to feed four people and they weren’t kidding. It was just the two of us and we came home with two doggie bags. So for the price of $ 24.99 you really do get your money’s worth. I think we will have left overs for about two days. The service is always about the same. We were seated right away. The waitress came right over and asked us what we wanted to drink. And gave us just the right amount of time to look over the menu even if we really already knew what we wanted. She was on top of making sure that we were taken care of and I have always noticed that about all the servers there. They always bring their«A» game.
