Hair Cuttery

I normally go to the Wheeling, IL location, and have my hair cut by Olga, but this Elk Grove location was on my way home from work, so I stopped in. I had been there one time before and had Maria cut my hair. She did a good job. However, this time a woman named Vicki cut my hair… I could have done a better job, myself. If you need a trim of a pre-​existing style, I’m sure she’d do OK, but if you need her to actually cut a style into your hair, stay away!
I have long layers (that had pretty much grown out) and wanted my bangs cut back in. I showed a picture of the basic style I wanted, so she could have an idea of what I was looking for.
I knew as soon as she started cutting that something was wrong. She didn’t separate my hair to cut the layers or the back — just snipped little bits off the end like she was doing a simple trim. I didn’t stop her, because I have hair to spare, and already knew by this time that I would be going elsewhere for a second cut.
The bangs were supposed to be fringed, and blend into the layers. However, she cut the bangs pretty much straight across. She didn’t fringe them, and they blend into nothing.
I’ve had bangs cut before and the stylist has NEVER cut them wet — at least not to finish them. They normally will cut to my nose, and then dry them before finishing them up. Thankfully, she went somewhat light on them, so I can [hopefully] have them corrected by going a little heavier.
I didn’t say anything while I was there, because I didn’t want her to try to correct it. I just paid (and tipped for her time — she was very nice) and left.
I am having a corrective hair cut tomorrow and a salon near my home. I hope they will be able to fix. If not, I’ll be wearing headbands for the next 4 months.

Came here for hair coloring. The lady who took care of me was Margaret. Horrible! 1) She managed to spill the hair dye on my face. A co-​worker of hers later checked and turns out the container had a crack. Sloppy work. 2) No discussion of what color I wanted my hair. She just shoved a «hair» swatch kind of thing to me and asked me to «pick one». 3) While washing my hair, shampoo came into my eyes. I tried to get her attention but she did not notice until a co-​worker of hers noticed, came by and said «She has shampoo in her eyes.» Her co-​worker was the one who gave me an extra towel dipped in water in case it happened again. She just had no attention to detail. Sloppy work. — I understand your experience can depend on the hair stylist you get. In this case, ask for another person other than Margaret.
