The pizza is OK, but the customer service is TERRIBLE. The restaurant was filthy. Not a clean table in the whole restaurant. We asked to have one cleaned and the one guy they sent out only wanted to clean half of the long table. And never bothered to clean any of the others. Even though, there were at least five people working that night. Young kids, no one in charge really. The kitchen floor was covered in food. We had a coupon and the«small print» required charging us 18% gratuity. For what, I don’t know! There was a puddle of water on the floor and anyone could have slipped in it. The bathroom had pizza sticks on the floor. No one way in charge, and when I asked to speak to the mgr., some young kid with braces said he was the mgr. I told him my concers with the place, and he clearly had no idea what to do or say. Whoever owns this place needs to get it together!

This place is not the same. Name, owner and quality has changed. Out of ingredients on a Friday. I won’t be back

I’ve been here twice. Once using a coupon and once using a Groupon and it STILL felt overpriced. The pizza and bread were mediocre. On our second visit, we ordered a pepperoni pizza and there was about ONE piece of pepperoni on each slice of pizza. The salad was from a bag and the ranch came in packets. BOTH times I went, the tables were not cleaned and the forks/straws/etc… were not stocked. There were FOUR employees working and no one cleaned anything. The service was sooooo slow here both times and there was only one other family eating each time. The first time I went, the toilet in the ladies room was clogged. I’m pregnant and I told the girl at the counter. I waited about 15 mins and no one fixed it or even put a sign up.

I tried these guys out for the first time a couple a weeks ago and i’m the type of guy who just calls pizza hut, orders my usual carryout deal and picks up in 20 mins. But one day i decided to stop by here because of a coupon i had got and turns out i didn’t even need it after all they had a better deal so i get home take a bite turns out I’v been eating fake pizza because this one was full of flavor and the crust not too soggy and too crunchy just«poifect» so ill definitely keep coming here. Just wish you guys had one maybe a little closer its not too far but it’s not on my way home from work :/ so for all the Pros: there’s one Con: so that’s not so bad

Their pizza was surprisingly delicious! I never would’ve taken the chance and come in here to try their pizza on my own, but we got invited here for a birthday gathering. The crust was good! The pizza very tasty! The only reason i put 3 stars is because they had no salad bar and they actually ran out of plates and cups while we were there! It could be because they were understaffed and had no one to concentrate on washing dishes and clearing the tables. But other than that… I definitely want to try this place again!

I used to like this place a lot but I just recently called in to place an order and the customer service was enough to make me never want to go back. The guy picked up the phone and was completely unprofessional. Don’t take it out on me if you dislike your job. Anyway, the pizza is mediocre; nothing too great. The place is filled with out of high school teens with a snobby attitude. I’d rather make my own pizza at home.

When you’re starving, any pizza is good pizza but this place made a great pizza. The combo had a good variety of meats and fresh veggies, the cheese was sufficient though you can never have too much cheese. The crust was tasty, chewy, though could have been a little bit crispier.

Cool River is very convenient for those who live near Franklin HS in Elk Grove, as I do. We are located in the back corner of Elk Grove city, far away from fast food, gas stations, malls and well, just about everything. Right off of Whitelock Rd however, buried in a small shopping center is a gem of a pizza joint! I first came to Cool River a couple years ago to catch a Kings game. The dining area itself offers plenty of seating for large parties, as a matter of fact, local little league and other sports teams came pouring in as practices were ending. They only two pizzas I have ever tried are the Mighty Gorge and the Cool Ranch Chicken, both are pretty dang good. The pizzas are very flavorful and are not skimpy on the toppings. Unlike most other places, the slices here are not dripping of grease or oil. How ever they bake it, you get the sense that it was baked with care. Ingredients are arranged carefully so that every person who grabs a slice gets an equal amount of toppings. The chicken wings here are pretty standard compared to most other pizza places, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, with wings, knowing what you get is good. Prices here are affordable, so you won’t go broke feeding a family. Check this website, you can often find deals or coupons, every little bit helps right? Cool River should receive 5 stars, however there is a flaw. Customer service here is supreme, they really care, however I feel there may be times when they are understaffed or are too busy. The both times that we dined in, our orders of chicken wings were given to another party by mistake, or completely forgotten. When we ordered pizza, other parties who ordered after us, received their food first while ours sat cold in the back. Nothing against the owner, because when we bring it to their attention, they try to rectify the situation with a free pitcher or extra wings. However, you can’t expect free food means an accepted apology forever. All these problems, are easily correctable which is why they still have me as a loyal customer. Cool river is just that: Cool. You can come here after a pick up basketball game, check out a game or even if you’re just craving good pizza. You don’t have to dress up, get all fancy and feel uncomfortable, come as yourself and leave with a smile. Located in a neighborhood, Cool River is like your next door neighbor, only with more TV’s and better pizza than you. Eat Up!

In one word: You people need to get organized! I know, that was more than one word but that is the honest truth about this place. We like their pizzas but wholly crap! They seem to have no system of knowing who ordered what and when. Eating in or to-go orders take exact same time… FOREVER! Out of past 3 times we have been there, it has been anywhere between 45 min to 1 hour for them to get our one pizza ready and delivered to our table when there were less than 3 tables occupied. Twice the«kitchen» didn’t receive our order. The funny part is, the kitchen is literally right behind the person who puts in the order. She can just turn around and tell the kitchen what to make. If you call in and place to go order, make sure to arrive at least an hour later. They are never ready when they say they are. A little tip: Learn their system of not having a system, lower your«customer is right» expectation and you will be fine eating at this place. Their pizzas are good.

10/31/2011 Visit Only. We called in our order for 2 large pizzas at 6:20pm. They said it would take an hour. So we arrived at the restaurant an hour later. The place was packed! We waited about 15 minutes in line, only to be told to wait another 15 minutes. That 15 minutes turned into 30. A bit ridiculous, but the pizza was worth it. They pies are getting smaller. Don’t believe 2 large pizzas was worth $ 36. Hawaiian and combo. Still tastes good. I’d knock down stars, but it’s good to see the place as busy as it was. A good sign that it’s not closing shop soon.

I think this place has the best pizza around! Kicks Round Table’s butt by far! We only go here now for pizza… no where else. They are also not overly expensive like some of those other chains. Try the white sauces… they are a personal favorite. Garlic Ranch! YUM!

After reading reviews about this place we decided to give them a try. Pizza — no better than DiGiornos. Freshly baked and crispy but not tasty at all. Service — very bad and unorganized. Untrained, unorganized, and bad attitude. As we placed our order, we knew we wouldn’t be returning to this restaurant. Try Pizza Bell or Fat Mike’s.

This Wednesday & Thursday March 2&3 is a fundraiser for Alex Hing’s family. 20% of all proceeds go to his family, funeral costs etc! I only ate pizza here 1 time & really liked it. After I found out they were allowing this fundraiser I liked them even more.

The Very Best pizza in my life to date… sums it up. The Buffalo River Pizza must be laced with crack because I had to have that pizza at least once a week and then they closed my local Cool River… probably due to lack of business because poor location. The Elk Grove location is over 20 miles from my house and I will every so often drive down there just to have my pizza. I have been there 2 times, once picking up and once eating in with my family. When we were there it was busy as heck and we didnt think we would get a table, but we managed to squeeze 6 people into one of their booths. I didnt care I had a beer and my favorite pizza of all time.

I was excited that this location opened a few months ago because of reading positive Unilocal Reviews for the other locations in the North part of Sac. I preface this review by stating, clearly, that I tend to give stars freely if the restaurant in question accomplished what they set out to accomplish in fine fashion. That is, I’m not going to give a Little Caesar’s a two star review because they’re not Amici’s. They sell quality pizza at rock-bottom prices and are good at that, so I’ll give ‘em four, and that’s how I Unilocal. So in the«Laguna Shopper» I saw a golden chance to try Cool River because there was a coupon. And in this economic depression, it’s rare yours truly is gonna try eating out anywhere new without saving a couple bucks. The coupon was for a $ 13.99 Xtra large pizza with as many topping as you want. That’s right… as many toppings as you want. So we decided to eat in – the place is new, so it’s very clean. It’s still in «opening» mode, as the salad bar isn’t functional, although you can see all the spots where the salad stuff should be. The pizza specials looked interesting with cool names, but I opted to go for a sausage/mushroom/pepperoni/artichoke concoction. It was very good, especially the crust, which is glazed lightly with butter and sprinkled with herbs, making it really tasty. The quality of the toppings was great, but next time, I’ll try one of their«special» pizzas, as the manager recommended that. They carry a bunch of good beers on tap as well. All in all, I’ll return again, especially when I’ve got coupons. They also deliver within a 5-mile radius.
