There aren’t any bookstores like this in Stockton, so when I was in Elk Grove for a doctors appointment I knew I needed to drop in. There is QUITE the assortment of books here, but they are all nicely organized and labeled — I spent maybe 20 minutes just browsing every genre possible. I spoke to the lady who worked there(or maybe owns it?), who said she uses a convenient program that is able to update the associated website within 24 hours of a book selling or purchase — she was pleasant. I went home with 3, all within the $ 7 – 11 price range and in wonderful condition. I’m looking forward to returning!

My favorite bookstore. A wonderful place that takes all my used books and turns them into credit to spend at this gem. Used books are abound, and a bright new section is available as well. I always find my self leaving with more then I intended, which isn’t such a bad thing since I love supporting small businesses. I only wish there were some seating to sit and review my pre-purchases.

Well-organized used book store — good selection, including a tasteful selection of quality trade paperbacks. The owner seems quite passionate about books in general, and their inventory is well-tracked via computer. I’ve also sold them some books for store credit at a fair price. Definitely worth a try for you book lovers out there.

Trents bookshelf is a cute mom and pop book store that I often find myself in. I could spend days here. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Whenever I’m here, the owner always comments on how far I’ve come in my recovery which makes me feel special that she remembers me lol There are two mom and pop owned book stores in the area and what I like the most about Trents is, they give you store credit for the books you turn in which end up taking off 50% off your purchase. It never expires either ! They have a huge selection on every kind of book. It’s definitely easy to get distracted here. Pick up a good book to read then head on over to boba tea house next door to enjoy a drink while reading ;)

Clean and we’ll organized selection of books. All books are listed online at the shops site so if your looking for something specific you can check for it ahead of time. I think the books are a bit pricy but if you utilize the trade option it brings it down by half.

Very nice collection of used books. I took a ton of books in that had been piling up over the years. Diana was very sweet. Since I wasn’t buying that day she took my information and emailed me my trade credit. Very good customer service. And the place is bigger than it looks from the outside. Give it a try!

Nice collection of books. I brought my two little ones with me, as we were on a hunt for classic Christmas stories – we left with Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer and a holiday scavenger hunt book. The owner shared on the history of Rudolph being branded by the now defunct Montgomery-Wards and that the scavenger hunt would be a good one to keep little ones busy. LOVED this. The owners genuinely love reading, have expansive knowledge of the literary world and have great customer service. I wanted to avoid large mall crowds, spending money and saving a tree. There is something special about supporting small businesses and breathing new life on something old. Trent’s Bookshelf won me over.

When my wife and I moved to Elk Grove just over a year ago, we were saddened to see that a good quality bookstore(my favorite being Barnes and Noble) was not around the corner as we were used to. Thankfully, we found Trent’s Bookshelf, and I must say this is the greatest«used bookstore» establishment I’ve seen. I say«used» because, sure, there are books with worn down edges and multiple Nora Roberts hardcovers lining the walls, but does it feel like a typical used bookstore? Absolutely not. The wonderful couple that operates the store keep it extremely orderly, and not once have I had an issue finding a book. Plus, they have a website — and it works! And you’re trying to tell me this is a little squeaky shop? I think not. Trent’s has everything, and if they don’t now, they soon will. I went in about a month or so ago to pick up a quick read and forgot my wallet. Diana smiled at said, «this one’s on me». This is a great reflection of the type of service you can expect at this store. I’m thankful to have this store around the corner, and am more than happy supporting a store that supports me.

Bookstores such as these are a small gift from heaven. I needed 2 copies of the book, «The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.» Amazon had copies, but shipping costs pushed the price to about $ 15. I wanted the books today, not tomorrow or next week. In steps in Trent. I perused the website of another competitor, but it was only just that. A website. Trent goes the extra mile and puts his inventory online. That saves you time and a phone call and they even have an added feature where you can ‘reserve’ that book for one week. I was in and out in about 5 minutes, but the next time I will spend a bit more time there as I was in a hurry to meet a friend for lunch. $ 13 and change and I was able to enjoy the books today! Support the local businessman! Quick tip: The word ‘Trent’ isn’t on the marquee, just the word ‘Bookshelf’ in green.

It is a used bookstore. I am loving it because it is so much closer to my house. You can also bring books in to acquire credit. Just like the Almost Perfect Bookstore. The folks who run the bookstore are really friendly and another advantage they have over Almost Perfect is that their inventory is online so you can search for books and buy used books online if needed. They also called me to let me know that I had left some pictures in the books I had brought in. It was the pictures of my nephews and I really did appreciate them calling me about the pics. I am a fan.
