Thanks to Unilocaler Chris C for putting on a great Unilocal event in his home town of Elk Grove! What’s great about having an event in Elk Grove, is that you get Unilocalers from Elk Grove, Lodi/Galt, South Sac, West Sac and one from further North… Me! I have been to Elk Grove so many times that I can count them on one hand. SO I was totally excited to take another trip down to the EG for an event with some of my favorite Unilocalers! Chris had arranged to have the two tables in front reserved for us and we filled them! I think about 15 people showed up which just goes to show that we need more events in Elk Grove OR we all really like Chris C. Either way, it’s a win. I had a great time hanging out with everyone(and we were sitting so close to the bar that I could with the Giants game too!) and enjoying Lola’s new space. The food was great(fresh!) and the service was excellent. I would definitely come back to Elk Grove for another event.

For a good time at a UYE, Elk Grove is the place to be! Elk Grove Blvd. is a pretty lengthy street to travel, but this particular strip of road is located in the older and more historical part of town. It’s not a street that I’m particularly fond of driving on. It’s a narrow two way street, with heavy, fast moving traffic, or it’s always backed up during rush hours, or it can be difficult in finding available nearby parking spots. However, I AM fond of the shops, bars, and restaurants that occupy this same street. So when Chris C.( ), sponsored a UYE at «Lola’s Lounge», which was formerly known as «The Elk Grove Brewery», I made a point of attending! I liked it then and I love it now! We were given the VIP treatment and acknowledged as special Unilocal members in our own reserved section of the bar. The food menu has some delicious looking options that made choosing difficult, but Joe K and I finally settled on two dishes: Joe got the Cuban Pork Sandwich and I ordered the Fish Tacos. Both meals were outstanding in both flavor and cooked to perfection! I also had my usual Tequila Sunrise that hit the spot as well! We had a very enjoyable evening with fellow Unilocalers, as we always do! Seeing old friends and meeting new ones was another expected UYE highlight. Thanks to our attentive server James and thanks to Chris C. for arranging this fun event and introducing me to another worthy attraction in the good old town of historic Elk Grove! Coming back is a must!

Bringing Unilocal Back To Elk Grove In A Delicious Way! SITREP Props to Unilocaler Chris C. for hitting it outta da park! Our newbie Elite buddy put on a fun Universal Unilocal Event(UYE) at the new Lola’s Lounge located in the Old General Store building: (on the«National Register of Historic Places»): PATIO! This is in the quaint historic section of downtown Elk Grove with lots of great shops and restaurants to check out. I love the vibe of the Lola’s Lounge location, very festive with a great front patio that will make for some great cool summer evening drinking & chilling, and taking fashion shots! ;) THESETUP But speaking of Lola’s, this wonderful culinary mecca has brought a new quality of cuisine to the Elk Grove district, that is both unique and Old World traditional. Lola’s is pulling from many different traditions, but it is having fun selling the package as a Tapas event: Chris C. has become well aware of what the owners and staff are trying to achieve here and so we felt privileged to be invited in to check it all out. THEFOOD There was so much to choose from, but I enjoyed focusing on the following: * Italian Style Flatbreads! = The Tres Queso Flatbread Pizza = And the Americano Flatbread Pizza * Esparragos Spanish cuisine, * And exotic dishes such as the Garbanzo Bean Garlic Roasted Hummus(with chips) …Lola’s does not disappoint with it’s exquisite dishes. THEDRINKS Classy wines, hearty brews and my favorite swill — PBR — Lola’s literally caters to every taste! KUDOS A Tip O’ The Hat to Unilocaler Chris C. who has picked up the gauntlet of being a new energetic Elite Unilocaler(indeed, one of our newbies of 2015) and joined the ranks of Unilocalers to set up events for the rest of us to enjoy. THELOWDOWN A great time in the Hood of Elk Grove at the fine establishment of Lola’s Lounge!
