I stayed over at this Econo Lodge at the last minute when I was traveling to spend Thanksgiving with family and was road weary. The surrounding area was an asteroid belt of Apple Bees, Cracker Barrels, and Seven-11s: Just the sort of place you would expect minutes off the highway. Behind the building itself was a pile of rubble — a cardboard fort that looked like it was housing a homeless commune, condom boxes, beer cans, cigarette butts — that made the place look even more hopeless in the dismal light. The bathroom smelled badly of cigarette smoke and blew stale air throughout the room when the overhead fan was on, but I just needed a place to crash. I left early in the morning after poor sleep on the stiff bed and forgot my suitcase. Even though I had made my reservation only for the one night and given the desk clerk my phone number, the manager decided to charge me for a second night without contacting me. When I got home and noticed that I didn’t have the suitcase, I called and asked the manager to please give me a price of sending my belongings back, but she told me she could charge my card, but not give me an estimate. Although the hotel was nearly empty, the staff had my number and knew that I had indicated I was only staying the night, and I had left a tip and comment card, the manager would not waive the regular room fee for the second night. I should have called the hotel on the road, she told me, and she didn’t care that I didn’t even notice that I was missing my luggage until I was on my way home. I understand. A place like this doesn’t operate on return customers anyhow(who would choose to stay at a place like this?) so why should they care if people are unhappy? In hindsight, I should have just camped out in my car. If you are in the vicinity of this Econo Lodge, please learn from my mistake. Obviously the manager didn’t care when I said I would be publishing unfavorable reviews online. I’m sure she’s accustomed to that.

Unsatisfactory, we asked for a non smoking room and it smelled like smoke. I also woke up to a decent sized bug crawling on me and saw a few others in the room when I got out of bed. Over priced for what you get, Would not recommend this hotel

FALSEADVERTISEMENT: My wife and I visited the Indiana Information Center shortly after the Illinois/Indiana border. There we found an advertisement for«$ 39.99» coupon for a nights stay at this business. Additionally, the coupon said that 2 people could stay, $ 5+ for additional people and $ 5 extra for a double bed. All this predicated on availability. I agree with this up until we spoke the receptionist. The receptionist wouldn’t honor the $ 39.99 coupon because they«were a misprint» and they do no honor them anymore. I mentioned that the business then should remove the 1,000’s of printed copies from the State Information Center/Rest Stop up the street because they were not honoring them. She continued to tell me that we could use the $ 44.99 coupon(she pulls it from a drawer) and then she would charge $ 50 for the extra bed, because in this night they did not have other units with one bed. So, I asked if she would honor the $ 39.99 and we would take it. She was persistent about not accepting the coupon because they were misprinted. She declined to have us stay the night because«you will stay here and then give us a bad review». This establishment needs to reconsider its customer service and integrity. In summary, I do not like the business practice conducted here. I do not care about $ 5, but I do care about integrity and business ethics. I will not lodge with Econo Lodge. }

Disgusting. I felt dirty after taking a shower after noticing some very suspicious stains on the shower curtain. No toilet seat cover and cob webs throughout the bathroom. Minimal TV channels and a remote that didn’t work. If it wasn’t so late then I would’ve left. I will spend $ 65 somewhere else and never stay at another Econo Lodge following this experience.

I had stayed here on my road trip to N.H. & found it to be a very clean, good sized room for the low price I was charged & the lady at the counter just HAD to come out to see my dog Buddy & he really enjoyed the attention! I would stop here again on future road trip’s.

Waited too late to get into the Sleep Inn across the street this trip, so stayed here for a few nights recently. We primarily needed a place to sleep and coffee in the morning, so this would work for us. A few changes have been made since the last stay. The cable service has recently been changed to a very bare bones selection. If you want to watch a show badly(we don’t), this place may or may not have the channel you want to watch. Also, the paper they have with the channel listing is incorrect, they have no idea of what channels they actually have(some are the shopping channels, but no CNN?) Also, the night personnel may or may not have coffee made early in the morning. They say they have a «continental breakfast» 6 – 9AM, but at 7, the coffee still had not been made.(Not sure what continent the breakfast comes from, but there are places to actually grab some food at nearby as they are very limited at this location. This was pretty much the same as last time we stayed there.) If you don’t need a pool, a spa, and just want a clean place to stay, for a reasonable(not that much below Sleep Inn, however) price, this place is definitely a place to consider. We will.
