Was really looking forward to trying on wedding dresses at Formal Affairs. I got my prom dress there many years ago and had a lovely experience. My mom and I walked into the store, the owner took one look at me and said«sorry, there are no dresses here large enough for you.» We then left. Not only was I completely humiliated, I also was completely disheartened by her incredibly rude comment. Thank you Formal Affairs, for not only making me feel insecure for being a size 12, but for also ruining an entire day of wedding dress shopping.

Never in my life have I felt like my business was so unwanted. My senior prom is coming up and I knew I wanted a unique dress, my shopping experience was most definitely unique. When I got to Formal Affairs one of the owners apologized for the lack of organization because they just got back from a bridal show. I can understand mentioning once but he excessively mentioned it. The lady that was supposed to be helping me find my dress was quite possibly the rudest customer service worker I had ever encountered. I tried on multiple dresses and made comments on certain aspects of them that I didn’t like and the lady made fun of me for the comments! One dress that I tried on was missing quite a few beads and I was blamed for it. The one«helping me» with my dress selection was very pushy and 100% unfriendly. The two owners that were there talked about how they didn’t have time for this(meaning me looking for the a dress) and that they had nothing in my budget which was $ 120, on their website they advertised that they had multiple dresses for $ 99 and under. When another girl about my age came in to work she was very nice but the owner continuously snapped at her. I ended up buying a dress from them but when I approached the counter both owners were in the back yelling at the employee who walked out in tears. I will never bring any of my business back to this place and am recommending that my friends don’t take their business there either.

This family-owned company has it all — DJ, dresses, tuxes, reception, invitations… you name it, they have it. That is, if you can get ahold of them. I called about seeing their venue for my wedding, and she took my number and never called back. I called back two other times and finally just went in. The venue is beautiful, but you HAVE to use their DJ because he owns it. Boo. That thwarted, I dragged my bridesmaids in for their dresses. We found one we liked, I asked about price and the shop owner said they didn’t have it ready. I gave her my information(AGAIN) and asked that she call me back. A week later, I called her. They’d lost my information and wouldn’t even tell me what the name of the dress line was so I could get it somewhere else. These people were difficult to work with, irresponsible and completely unhelpful.
