Came here while on «vacation» to pass the time in the dead of winter. Clean, well lit. One bathroom. 5VIP lanes through a divided wall, 10 lanes for the«public». The alleys are short, the controls are ancient. The lanes are tight. And play some hockey to clear your brass. I rented a rifle and the machine gun. The handgun rental selection and target selection(a whopping 3) is sparse. They love selling stuff because everything’s more expensive than need be. They have a classroom at the back off to the side of the shop for safety classes. *PLUS, They don’t sell everything under the sun, but just LOVE their 1911 collection. Why does everyone fawn so damn much about the 1911s!?!(I digress.) I went in on a Tuesday to check it out, spoke with a kid for easily 30 minutes… Thursday I go back to shoot, see the kid — no recollection of ever speaking to me. wtf?! Got nothing more than blank stares from everyone else who seemed too grumpy or concerned to greet a new customer. Was it the cold air? because everyone was ICY. tight lipped, and not too forthcoming with the banter or advise or even a tip about my chit-chat while making purchases for the admission ticket x 2, the MACHINEGUNRENTAL x 2, the handgun rental ticket x 1. — SERIOUSLY?! — When are you going to crack a smile?! Just wanted to sell me overpriced target ammunition. And then the machine gun experience. I didn’t raise any eyebrows purchasing 300 rounds of 5.56NATO, but Rocco raised mine, when he phrased it that I was buying 15 boxes of it! SALESTAX on every box! Then I was advised to do an «Ammo Dump» for both of the weapons I rented for the«Full Auto Experience». YEah, lose your $$ on 100 rounds in 10 seconds or less. Sure, to go buy more. After I was SUPERNICE, and tried to chit chat with any number of the staff, and got grunts or one-liners…I said my goodbyes, and watched everyone drop their heads and go back to their business like I was taking up their time. I might be stuck with 10 rounds, but my range beats this place’s personality.

All I have to say is I drive 2 hours from Chicago to go to this shop. Very friendly staff, very helpful, clean, no gang bangers, great selection, Mike & Josh help solve a bad spring in my AR for no cost. Great shop love the knife selection. Prices are fair. Family friendly. Range guy is on the ball. Manager behind counter bald head and 44 mag on hip. Is super nice and messes with customers from Illinois. I’ve been here several times and go back often. Thanks for all your help and an even more enjoyable experience. ‘Merica.

Went to Midwest Gun & Range today while here on business and was pleasantly surprised, every employee I dealt with was very knowledgable and courteous. Most surprising however, was the manager Hannah who took a lot of time out of her day helping me with a situation and arranging transport of a firearm I purchased there back to my local FFL in California. I walked away a very satisfied customer and will definitely be back every time I am in town. I would definitely recommend this place to any«out of towners» such as myself. Great place to do business with!

Ugh I wish I could like this place but I just can’t. Pros They have a fairly decent amount of firearms, knives, and accessories for a smaller shop. Nice indoor range. Cons Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is priced 10−20% higher than other shops. Just like the other Midwest store they will not price match. They are not very helpful on lower dollar purchases. The staff while knowledgeable would rather chat among themselves than talk to a customer. The manager is one of the rudest managers I have ever met. Range is almost always filled with children, teens, and occasionally some jackass with rifle on full auto going out of control. One reason I rate this shop so low is because you can almost feel the contempt the employees have for you as soon as you walk through the door. This shop could use a huge restaffing overhaul.

Half of the reviews on this page sound like employees or their wives advertising! This MUCHSMALLER(than the Mishawaka store) Midwest Guns has little selection and seem to make most of their money trying to sell range time.

I walked into this shop and was greeted immediately, a pleasant change form many gun shops. The staff was friendly and courteous. They have a good amount of stock right now, when most shops don’t. I also noticed that they rent Class 3 weapons here and the man behind the counter showed me a large binder of what they rented, they had a huge variety of Class 3s available to rent and prices and terms seemed reasonable. I was just passing through town and stopped because I am looking for an older, hard to find gun, they didn’t have one so I bought some ammo and stuff there. I wish all gun shops were like this one.

Went here today for their machine gun rentals on their range. Employees were very helpful and friendly and provided excellent service. the indoor range was one of the better ranges i’ve been to(i am a pretty experienced sport shooter). For purchasing, they had a smaller inventory than i am used to seeing, but it was a high quality inventory. there pricing, for sale, rentals & ammo were very reasonable. The machine gun rental experience was AWESOME… A wide variety of rental weapons to choose from and personalized service from the staff. Definitely worth a try!

This is one of my favorite gun ranges. The prices are average. Tuesday is ladies day — no range fees. It is pretty busy on the weekends, but we have waited no more than 15 minutes to get on a lane. The employees are always friendly even when it seems like it is getting a bit chaotic with all the people in there. I have taken my 9 year old twin girls there and they took the time to fit them with a rental gun to shoot with. The handguns were $ 10 to rent. I had my own then I rented a .22 for my twins and a .45 Sig Sauer for me. My boyfriend brought his rifle and shotgun. You have to shoot slugs for the shotguns which they sell. The lanes are ventilated very well. I only wished they stayed open longer on the weekends. They close at 6 on Saturdays and 4 on Sundays.
