One of the best authentic Mexican places to eat in the area we highly recommend it and take friends there as often as we can to share the experience

This is the best Mexican food in town. Love their chicken burritos. Love to visit in the summer with the outdoor seating. Any other seasons I call in my order and pick it up.

Small town, big food! Who would have thought such a great mom & pop Mexican place would be in Elkhart, Indiana?

Wow. Amazing authentic Mexican food! They have the best salsa I have had in a long, long time. Great chips. I also had the marinated pork burrito. God damn was that good! And huge. Very filling. I also had a steak taco, with onions and cilantro. These are tacos, period. And awesome. Ricky’s is a really cool dive-like place. Not much room. A bit loud, and these are good things. And the food is made right in front of you, if you sit at the bar. Awesome servers. Come here. Repeatedly.

Best authentic Mexican food around. The salsa is outstanding and so are their chips made right on the premises. I personally enjoy everything they have in chorizo including the burrito and tacos. Service is quick and seating is limited but I have never had to wait long. Most people appear to order carry out.

Nice little out of the way hole in the wall spot that was recommended to us by a local. Staff was very polite and the food was authentic and pretty good but unfortunately didn’t meet up with the hype as it was a little on the bland side. We don’t regret our visit but probably won’t go back.

Good food and consistent. Small area for seating if you need to sit inside. It is fun to watch the chef cook if you sit at counter.

This is a small place that has excellent, fresh food. I had the chicken tacos and they were fantastic. The service was also top notch. I will definitely be back when I am in the area.

The burrito was fantastic! Chips, salsa and guacamole was to die for. I will for sure be back. Little hole in the wall joint, those are the best kind. Must hit this place up!!!

Ricky’s is Great. The Asada taco’s are on point, Torta’s are fantastic and Quesadillas amazing! The salsa is great every time even if its a little bit different each time. You can tell it’s made fresh with real fresh ingredients. The Burrito’s are large, but are not my favorite thing on the menu, they seemed to lack some flavors I personally like such as more tomato, cilantro onions and guacamole but what is in them tastes good. I got a gordita once by mistake and it was so delicious I didn’t even care it wasn’t a torta. Plus they have Coke in a Bottle :) The restaurant is small and usually busy, but eat there if you can or sit under the tent out side. Take out is good to, but eating there — it’s so much better. So much better than other«authentic Mexican» restaurants around the area. Just because something is smothered in melted cheddar cheese doesn’t make it good, or even Mexican for that matter. Great place to eat, amazing food, great pricing and friendly staff that provide good service. Come hungry but come expecting to eat at a Taqueria, not the Four Seasons. It is a hole in the wall, some would call a dive but definitely well worth it!!!

What a great authentic Mexican restaurant. I’m from out of town and stumbled on this place. Small and dingy but awesome food which is all I care about. Had the chicken and beef tacos which were great. If you like cilantro this is the place for you.

Amazing seafood soup(siete mares); disappointing veggie burrito. I don’t know what others are seeing in their burritos, but mine was bland and the proportions were off: too many beans, and WAY too little avocado, onions, and cilantro(rice and tomato ratios were fine). Also, it really would have been better with cheese and crema. But the caldo de siete mares was out of this world! Chock full of good seafood(octopus, mussels, shrimp, whitefish, etc.), with plenty of warm tortillas, for less than $ 10! That was the price in January 2015; it might have gone up since then. The place is tiny, so I wouldn’t go with a ton of people and expect to be able to eat there. And given my experience with the veggie burrito, it might not be a good choice for vegetarians. But I would definitely go back for their seafood soups.

My favorite Mexican taquería style restaurant period. Food is incredible. It can get busy. It’s worth waiting. Summer time beckons outdoor seating. It steers towards authentic and is flavorful. Barbacoa is on point. The owner, Jesus, is the man. Go and get you some!

Small hole in the wall with the best burrito in the area! Love it! Only a few tables so seating is limited. Very affordable.

For what you’re getting(an inexpensive hole in the wall burrito and taco place) it’s everything you could hope.

Oh man! I never thought a place in INDIANA would make me want to keep coming back! I mean, c’mon I live in Chicagoland. The hub of some great eats. But Ricky’s is soooo good! I literally ate there for lunch and dinner in the same day on my latest visit to Elkhart! Their chips and salsa are delicious, but WOAH their barbacoa is the stuff!!! Whether on a soft-yet-crunchy torta, or on any one of their other tortilla-based delights, the barbacoa is Incredibly savory, juicy and delicious; it’s like the meat is making love to my tongue, for real! I would probably recommend the torta over a taco, only because it’s a bit bigger and absorbs some of the juice better, whereas the taco has the potential to send it trickling down your arm(where you will be tempted to lick it off in a very uncouth way!) The horchata is pretty good too, I recommend it. The price is definitely right, even with a group of three, we rarely pay more than $ 30, and even then it’s because our eyes were bigger than our stomach. The only downside to this joint is that it is TINY. You can maybe fit 10 people in here if you’re lucky. Patio seating isn’t necessarily what I call«atmosphere,» but if it’s nice out, it’s better than trying to cram into this busy little hidey hole.

Working my way through Unilocal Elkhart’s top 5 restaurants and I’m finding all sorts of gems that I would never have tried otherwise! Ricky’s is definitely one of them. Here are a few tips for your own venture: — This is a taqueria(taco shop), not a restaurant. That means expect things like burritos, tacos, and tortas, rather than elaborate dinner plates. — Definitely order the chorizo burrito and ask for lime wedges– squeeze on the chorizo to really bring out the flavor. Fantastic! — Consider carry out if you have more than 4 people in your party… the space is the size of a pill box. On a side note, my sister and I had excellent, cheerful, and prompt service at Ricky’s. Even the not-so-Mexican-food-savvy folks sitting next to us received a very patient explanation of, like, half the menu!

Great food. I had a really tasty chicken gordita. The restaurant is cute albeit tiny. I came here with 15 people, and we had to be creative about where to sit. It’s not a 5 because I wasn’t particularly impressed with our waitress.

This our soup Nazi… always have horrible service but the food is so good we put up with it. There may be only one decent waitress there. Half of the time we have to bug someone for silverware, drinks, even to pay the bill. Thefood is so good It’s worth the odd service. They have the best quesadillas, and guacamole in the area.
