Star Martial Arts, its owners Mr Seth Birky and Mrs. Melanie Birky, and its amazing staff of instructors will exceed your expectations! Having known them and worked with them for a few years now, I and my family have learned, that not only are they teaching the sport of Taekwondo, but they are teaching life skills, their goal is to teach each and every student martial arts, yes but more importantly help children become well rounded, honest, people of good character, that are motivated to work towards a Goal. Their program exceeds every expectation. They genuinely care about their students, their well being, and pride themselves on guiding them down the right path in life. Taekwondo is a fantastic sport and I am so thankful my boys are involved for 8 years now in Taekwondo. Please BEWARE of Star Martial Arts. I purchased a GROUPON trial for Star Martial Arts for my children. When we went to our ‘introduction’ with the owner we were told that the GROUPON purchase could only be applied toward the 6 month program. We were able to pick which program we wanted but all of the options were 6 months or longer. I was confused but thought the ‘Basic Trial’ (as listed in their contract) seemed like a good place to start. The instructor went through a few of the moves with my children in a private room. All seemed well so I decided to sign up for the Basic Trial, I signed the contract where the instructor indicated and we began to go over class times and outfit sizes for my children. At no point did we discuss the cancellation policy (or lack there of). We tried the program for 2 months and we decided it wasn’t a good fit for our family. I went into the studio and asked to cancel our remaining months and was told that wouldn’t be an option. I offered to pay the third month and meet them in the middle and still I was told it wasn’t an option. I explained that my kids were intimidated by the noise, the class size, etc and it was actually anxiety producing instead of fun and this wasn’t a good fit for our family… again, no. I believe I was misled on the initial contract and how the GROUPON trial was applied. I was given a very quick and convoluted explanation of the contract. Please be aware that this establishment has left me feeling scammed, I would not want anyone else to go through this situation.

The instructors genuinely care about the students. Great location. Very enjoyable. Great program for kids and teenagers.

My children started at Star Martial Arts a few months ago. I can not speak highly enough of the staff. They are professional, friendly, helpful and very nice! The student helpers are also very impressive young men and women.
We started the six month program to try out Martial Arts. As soon as our six month program ends we are going to commit to the Black Belt Club. Their teaching skills are so exceptional it makes me want to tell everyone to give it a try.

Star Martial Arts is one of the best choices I have ever made for my family! Star Martial Arts has amazing teachers. My son has grown so much in the past year with their efforts. They are kind and understanding, as well as push my son to his limits. My son is growing in strength, poise, and athletic ability. However, probably the most significant is his improvements in discipline, focus and perseverance. I can’t thank Star Arts more for that. His younger brothers ask EVERY DAY when they are old enough to go «Kick».
