Eh. This place was meh. The price is right at 60 bucks a night. Beds were fine. The ac was super loud and didn’t work well. The water in the shower and sink was extremely dirty and had an overwhelming smell of rust. We were unable to brush our teeth with the water since it was so strong. The tub was severely clogged. While we did not swim, the pool looked nice. But it was quiet.

In May visited cousins in Elkhorn and stayed at Crossroads Motel, very quite and nice little place with lush green backyard(BTW we barbecued) what amazes me is their indoor pool, it was refreshing and surprisingly 8″ feet deep, never seen that deep pool before for such a small motel, less expensive and locally owned motel… great stay

This motel has the rudest service ever. We stayed there because it was local for a graduation. There were 12 of us there so we populated the place. One of my relatives got bites all over her body. They switched her to a new room, the toilet didn’t work in that room so they switched her again. She asked to be compensated and the lady stated she could leave the motel but she couldn’t compensate or buy her breakfast because she had bills to pay. The owner lady was not nice, she was«bitchy» when I asked for new sheets when I got there because there were yellow stains, she said that those were bleach stains. The bathrooms were not clean at all. I didn’t care about it being dated but rather how she treated my whole family after we were all more than kind to her. I wouldn’t even recommend my dog to stay here!

I was able to check in to a room on incredibly short notice and pretty late into the night on a holiday weekend. As its been said, the rooms appear a little dated, but I enjoyed it. Wood paneling on the walls and thick curtains kept the room dark if you wanted to sleep in a bit. Fridge, Microwave, shower were all there and working properly. There was a tv on the wall, but stuck with only local channels. not a big deal to me, as I wasn’t there to watch tv. The pool was nice and well kept. Pretty quiet place overall. Normally I stay at a friends cabin on Lake Wandawega, but I think I’ll make this my main option when I make it up there from now on.

Having stayed in my fair share of Holiday Inns, Sheratons and Ramadas, it was very cool to stay in a place with some character. Even if it is of the Norman Bates variety… I’m KIDDING! I get razzed sometimes because I’m pretty non-discerning when it comes to hotels — if it’s clean and serves its purpose(sleep and shower) I’m all good. If I’m on vacation, I’m not sightseeing in my hotel room and if I’m traveling for work, I’m usually out attending a tradeshow or with colleagues. So yeah, the Crossroads met my goals. It’s pretty dated. But it is also clean and functional. I felt like I was stepping back in time — like staying at my grandma’s house or something. There’s a great outdoor area and the pool(though not used by me) was very nice looking. There’s ice, vending machine and a micro. It’s close to Alpine Valley and very reasonably priced. I’d recommend it to anyone and definitely stay there again, so Crossroads gets the AmyD. seal of approval.

After getting tickets for Pearl Jam’s 20th anniversary celebration at Alpine Valley a friend and I started looking around online for a place to stay in the area. Everything nearby seemed to be either booked or ridiculously expensive, so I started looking around Google maps for something off the radar that we might be able to get into, and that’s how I found the Crossroads Motel. Their website doesn’t allow you to make a reservation, you have to actually pick up a phone and call them to check availability. I’m guessing this step was what allowed us to get in, as we got the last room for the Labor Day weekend. I found the room to be about what I expected, nothing fancy, just fairly clean and comfortable. Yes, it had a small TV with spotty cable service. And yes, the WiFi seemed to drop out on a regular basis. Since we weren’t in the room too often neither seemed to affect us much. It’s a family run biz and they were very nice when making the reservations, calling to confirm them a couple times, and then when we checked in. If you’re going to a show at Alpine Valley it’s hard to beat the location, it’s only a few miles down the road and the traffic to/from was virtually non-existant. If I ever find myself in the area I’d definitely consider going back, the bed was pretty good and really what else do you need?
