We have been here a few times and each time the food has been wonderful. Oysters, filet mignon, shrimp, crab cakes, NY strip… all wonderful. The chef has done an excellent job with the menu and the prices are very reasonable. Never very crowded(can’t vouch for Friday Fish Fry) and service was attentive and friendly.

Well where do I begin– I didn’t want to come because of the reviews but guys can be wrong and that was the case last night when we went. Chris had been there some 25 years ago and every time we went to Janesville she would say– we should stop. My friends up the road tried it when it first opened. Didn’t work too well for them. Okay on to Chris and me and our experience last night. Everything was just fine. Good waitress good oysters good food and the price was right. Not many people Saturday night but okay. Started out with oysters for $ 12 – 13 for a dozen. Fresh with good horse radish and red sauce. Prime rib special Chris had, see picture, great flavor, broccoli was done just right. Salad was fresh and dressing was very balanced. Mine was a $ 14:00 hamburger dinner and French onion soup. Both worth it, but most would think not-check picture. I took half home. Chris could not finish either. Now drinks: we had standard Wisconsin fair– brandy old fashion sweet was great. Second drink we ordered bouton old fashion and rail was very satisfactory. Coffee was standard and I would improve but most like a standard fair. Well I am impressed no surely waitress no salty onion soup no bad language and not over priced. If you have made it through this long review then come join us as we coming back. Try it but not just the fish night.

This restaurant could be so great. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The food is not too bad if you don’t have to wait 1+ hours to get it! The staff was friendly but their use of profanity was very unprofessional. The booths are built for very small people. We ordered our drinks and the bar tender got our drinks wrong 3 times! We don’t like to complain but we finally had to say something about the wait time. The waitress asked how we were doing and we said we were getting hungry and the waitress replied«Well I am thirsty.» The first piece of fish I had must have been taken off of someone’s plate because it was cold and tasted terrible, but the next few pieces were good and hot so those tasted fine. I would have left a good review had the staff been more professional and the wait time wasn’t so long but it definitely put a damper on the night. If you want a good fish fry and a good atmosphere go to the Duck Inn or Ricks in Whitewater!

Somebody please call the bar rescue people!!! Friday night, ordered fish fry at 8:00. Didn’t get dinner until 9:30. 1-Had the broiled Walleye and was violently ill for the next 2– days. Portion was so small even the waitress was embarrassed to serve it and offered to adjust price.($ 17.95) Shame on the cook! Service was slow. We finally received our order(after waiting an hour and a half) and were immediately told the kitchen was closing and we should order more fish now for those of us that ordered the all you can eat. Bartender was drinking, and some staff appeared to be intoxicated. Too many mistakes made by the cook, the waitress, and the bartender to list. We will definitely not return and It’s really too bad because it is a cute place with great potential. Visited August 2015

Tried out on a slow Saturday night. Good crowd… but nice place to sit and talk. Get a booth. Knowledgable wait staff… she had tried everything. Seafood soup was excellent… spicy as she warned. Sarah ordered the stuffed prawns; I had the broiled pork chop and mushroom risotto — both a little different than your usual SoWI supper club. Scrimp had real lobster stuffing; pork chop nicely done; creamy risotto. All in all… first rate meal. We will be back… of we can find it! ******* We have been back numerous times over the past several years; actually getting to be regulars. We can’t recommend this place highly enough — definitely not your typical southern Wisconsin supper club or out of the way Restaurant. If you visit there — and we hope you will — definitely try the specials; we’ve never been disappointed.

Great food and great service! Cute little place with only about 10 tables. Lamb shank was melt in my mouth good. My wife loved the fish fry

A quaint and cozy atmosphere, but the food is the main attraction. I had the prawns and they were excellent! Juicy, garlicy, HUGE! French onion soup to die for. Friendly waitstaff, great service. I plan to return as often as possible!

Same décor from 30 years ago. I was actually there then, so I know. Ok for a nostalgic visit but the tables were grubby. Food edible but not worth a drive. Clam chowder good, but French onion soup too salty to eat. Fries a greasy failure at the bottom of the basket. Shrimp ok for me, but companion thought they tasted like iodine. Red beans and rice were right. Odd mismatch of old diner plates, plastic baskets with paper liners and styrofoam. All in all, there are better restaurants nearby — Holi Canoli, Fiddlesticks, Calabria. If you want a bar with good food, Abels is better. But the server was excellent, and it was very friendly. Go have a beer or two if you’re on A. Not planning to return.
