I come here all the time with a friend, simply because the food is good. There is a long wait for the certain pizza we order, which is perfectly fine. The one female waitress that is always working seems to have an attitude everytime. She doesn’t bring our drinks until 10 – 15 minutes later. Our pizza takes anywhere from 30 – 40 minutes to prepare and she has yet to stop by our table and ask to refill our drinks. When she brings the food and drinks, she sits it down and doesn’t say much, and seems as if she doesn’t want to be there. I understand everyone has bad days but we come to this place sometimes twice a month and each time she had the same awful Attitude. wish the service was better and it would be 5 stars for me. When you don’t feel welcome and sit there thirsty it just doesn’t go over well with me.

I love Amalfis in Wilkesboro but I HATE not being served in Elkin. It sucks having to gather 6 orders and order at the counter!!! Read your reviews on here, I’m not the only one. Hire someone stat!

Although not fancy, and you have to place your order up at the counter, they do bring your food to you and I have never been disappointed with the quality. We have tried many different things on the menu and everything has been delicious.

I stopped here on my way to Hillsville VA, as I knew there were limited restaurants there. I was hesitant to go in based on the Unilocal reviews, but as I was reading the menu posted in the window, several people went inside. The last couple that went in said that they eat here at least one time a week; I followed them in. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and the seafood special to go, with home made ranch and balsamic vinegar dressings. It was a 20 minute wait. As I waited, it was obvious that this restaurant has a reputation for take out. People in working uniforms– a truck driver, a nurse, a mechanic– all had placed orders to be picked up. There were other eat-in regulars that were greeted by name and who ordered«the usual». I had a 30 minute drive between the time I received my food and the time to eat it. The home made bread was eaten in the car and was absolutely delicious. The seafood pasta was excellent– the white wine sauce was tangy and the fish was not fishy. The grilled chicken salad was perfect too and the lettuce was fresh– not from a bag, but freshly cut. I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular. :)

(Note: This dining experience happened in September 2013, though I’m posting it a year later.) This place might be just fine for carryout, but our dining experience left us calling the place«weird pizza.» It’s weird ordering a full meal at the counter, paying in advance, including tip(good thing the wine was terrible and we didn’t want a second glass), then having table service. Tables were all dirty, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. We waited a long time for water. Pizza was just fine, nothing special. Left feeling a little sticky and wishing we’d gotten fast food.

We stopped at Amalfi’s in the past year(sorry, behind on reviews) on our way down I-77. Our kids wanted Pizza and google maps found this place. But its a lot more than just pizza — typical italian restaurant menu. We had really good manicotti and parmesan and the kids had Pizza. All was great and appropriate value. Will definitely mark it to stop by again on our way through.

An ordinary looking pizza/pasta joint in a small strip mall near a Wal-Mart. But that belies some pretty good food and very pleasant service. We were weary travelers just off the highway, and surprised by several very good pasta dishes and a very friendly waitress. The pizza looked very good. Very inexpensive.

This is a generous 4 stars, more like 3.5 really. I was here with my two young children. You order from the front counter and the waitress brings the food to your table. The service was very attentive. One of my children ordered pizza, the other manicotti and I ordered the pork loin with penne special. The pizza was a large slice of well prepared and tasty pizza. It could have used a bit more sauce for my NYC pizza palate, but it was very good nonetheless. The manicotti was also very well prepared with nice ricotta filing and a tasty tomato sauce. My pork loin special was the only dim spot. Two nice pieces of pork loin were covered with a thin cream(Alfredo?) sauce that was laced with a good amount of chopped spinach, too finely chopped to register on my tastebuds. Although the penne portion was generous and cooked nicely al dente, the sauce seemed too thin and lacked character. It could have benefitted from maybe a touch of nutmeg and a bit of pepper. Too the two nice-sized pieces of pork loin were cooked too long and were a bit on the dry side. All of the dishes were accompanied by a large triangular piece of very tasty, yeasty dough similar to what you’d find in a calzone that was almost worth coming for by itself. All-in-aa, with just a bit of tinkering this could have been a true four stars.

Good stuff. We were in town for Merlefest and this place was recommended by our hotel staff. We enjoyed the family run atmosphere here and the option for pizza or pasta were good. I enjoyed Eggplant Parm and my husband ordered lasagna. We enjoyed both– and the star of the show was the bread. With our meal, we received both a side of garlic bread and a nice size chunk of pizza crust– I know that sounds weird, but it was like a large roll made from pizza dough. And it was delicious. Overall, I’d recommend this little place.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza, and my son got a penne pasta with meat sauce. Pizza was good. Meat sauce was pretty good on the pasta. Liked the inside of the building. Amalfi’s is okay, but I like Mazzini’s better.

Great pizza spot. Huge slices. I love that they use slices of sausage that rival the size of the pepperoni. Makes for a great combination with mushrooms. Calzones are full of cheese, too. Only bummer was that it only comes with a pepperoni or ham option. However, cheap pitchers of Bud or Natty Light remedy any qualms about a lack of meat selection in the calzones.

I live in Elkin, but I do a lot of travelling with my job. I’m telling you, this is very, very good pizza. I don’t just mean«good for Elkin», which it certainly is, but good. Period. The crust is chewy and yeasty, the way pizza crust should taste. Half the time, we just order cheese because all the toppings get in the way of the crust. Very friendly folks, as well.
