Good nonprofit support opportunities in areas around the world. Teens 1 – 16 traveling with parents, 18 years(if solo), to retirees can help with animal rescue, sea turtle conservation, youth advocacy, education such as helping people learn English, rehabilitation and/or handicap care for pre-medical or pre-dental students, providing medical/dental healthcare, working with AIDS prevention or advocacy, social welfare i.e. school lunches, work in a woman’s shelter. Areas where you volunteer can be in Central America, South America, Africa, Asia. Volunteers usually stay in a dormitory, with local food. Work conditions vary depending on location. Volunteers pay fees to cover meals and accommodations as well as being met at airports and transported to location, very low cost compared to hotels. Up front deposit is required. Work hours are 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. Work is sponsored by USAID, Guidestar, PANO. Transport and fees are deductible according to IRS rules.
