Small shop with a nice atmosphere inside. The best part is the food. They are relatively fast at preparing the food and I highly recommend veggie kimbap and dubbuki. They often give free kimchi with your order. Be careful entering the parking lot: it is tightly packed and you have very little room to make your entrance off the fast route 40.

This is a small roomy and comforting Korean eatery. To me it’s cozy and intimate without the overwhelming service like other restaurants. My mom and I have been going here for years since it’s opened. The food is very homemade style Korean. The specialize in Kimbap which is Korean California rolls to best describe it. It’s a traditional Korean entrée. It’s like a part of our weekly routine to visit and eat here. My favorite is there, it’s rice cake in spicy sauce with ramen noodles ! I wish I had some pictures to post :) Located in the heart of Ellicott city next to shila bakery and jimmy johns . You’ll be pleasantly surprised here ! Definitely try it out if you’re a Korean foodie :)

Tasty, amazingly fresh, and the only thing disappointing about it is that it’s so far away from where I work that I can’t stop by for lunch all the time. Seriously huge portions and you can definitely tell that they make all the rolls and food to order!

One word to describe this place: DISGUSTING We went there knowing that several times ladybug and hairs cameout because we were really hungry. Not worth it. Please avoid and someone need to call health inspector in this place. Unjustifiable amount of times where other things comeout of the plate. Do avoid unless you want bug or hair or even floss in your plate.

I love this mom & pop corner restaurant. Has a really comforting, Seoul/Korean cheap neighborhood eatery with very casual Korean fare. There are many vegan/vegetarian options, as well as options for carnivore fare! I really have enjoyed everything I’ve tried here. The banchan served are not as numerous or delicious as more established and pricey restaurants in the area, but the food is fabulous here. Good for kids too. Small space so there are only about 12 tables(4-tops) but there has never been a day that I’ve come and had to wait a line or anything. Good, hearty, healthy, delicious Korean food. I’d recommend this place for a mid-week lunch!(Reminder: NOT open on Tuesdays!)

Good place for a light meal or snack that’s not sweet… they have ramen, Korean sushi, spicy rice cakes, fried dumplings, soups etc. Also in the same shopping center as Shila Bakery if u wanted to go afterwards for dessert.

This place is a solid three stars. The service is a solid five stars, but the food brings the rating way down. The service here is so friendly and personable. However, the food is almost mediocre. The type of food they serve in this restaurant are the types of food you would find in traditional Korean street markets. The food range from spicy rice cakes to kidbap to bean noddles. Their dumplings are not juicy which makes me sad. Their spicy rice cake is on the same level as something I can cook at home. Their kimbap selection is limited for a place that calls themselves the land of kimbap.(That’s what kimbap Nala translates to– the land of kimbap). For a restaurant that calls themselves a land of kimbap, I expect the best kimbap in the world and a large variety of kimbap flavors. My moms kimbap is tastier… Their omorice(fried rice with a egg) is saturated with two flavors– ketchup and green peppers. Overall, I always eat here for a quick and easy meal.

If you crave Kim Bob and have no time to prepare it. That’s a good place for fresh made Kim Bob. Though I must say it does not taste anything better than what one can make at home. I also tried their Katsu(friend pork) with rice dish. The pork cut had some fat in it so you ended up with some part of the katsu you can not eat. Staffs are friendly I must say. Though service is slow.

This place is a very small and casual restaurant. It has a quiet atmosphere which is a great place to eat peacefully or with family. The food is pretty good, they specialize in Korean kimbab. Which is mainly rice, vegetables and many assortments wrapped in korean seaweed. It is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat!

Yes, go to this place. This is a small restaurant specialized in Korean Streetfood. Their Kimbob(rice and ingredients rolled into Seaweed) are fresh and made on site. Kim: means Seaweed Bob: means Rice Na Ra: Nation. I’ve had their kim bob s with americans and they think its Sushi. Well, there is a big different so please do not misunderstand them with Sushi. Literally they are Seaweed Rice Nation! But truth be told about that nation, they do it right! Most important stuff when making Kimbob is fresh ingredients. They cannot be pre-made day before, they cannot stay over night. They must be fresh. Numerous times I’ve been and had their Kimbob rolls, its pretty fresh. So, why not try them out? Let them surprise you with the taste and you won’t be disappointed with the check either. I am a frequent customer at the location.

Came here twice for dinner recently, and while there were some awkward moments when my servers had trouble communicating with me, the kim bap was pretty good and I would come back. Orders are served with lots of little side dishes(kimchee, picked radish, cabbage, etc). Interestingly, Harry Potter movies were playing on the TV in the corner both times I visited… Reasonable prices, pretty good kim bap, cozy and casual atmosphere.

Kimbap Nara is a great place to go for a quick bite. The environment is laid back and feels like a true street food restaurant you can probably find in Korea. They have a lot of kimbap choices for you. Kimbap is a Korean food where rice is wrapped in a roasted seaweed and you can add any filling inside of it. The most common filling are: pickled radish, stir spinach, fish cakes, eggs, and some kind of meat filling(like beef). Here at Kimbap Nara you get a lot more choices than the typical kimbap. You can have a tuna kimbap, salad kimbap, and so many more choices. They have other dishes for you to choose from too. They have dumpling, stews, spicy rice cakes, and the list goes on. Everything in their menu is delicious and I would recommend this place. It is a great place to go to with a group of your friends. They have a long table in the center that can probably hold a decent amount of people, but the place itself is pretty small. It’s not a common restaurant you typically can find in Maryland, so I think that is why I appreciate this place.

I saw Kimbop Nara across the street from the Lighthouse soondooboo place, so of course, I had to make a quick pit-stop to check them out! It seems as if this place is pretty popular, with people dining in as well as calling in for carry-out orders. It’s a small eatery with about 10 tables. Their menu offers different types of kimbop(regular vegetable kimbop, kimchi, tuna, beef, etc.), as well as other Korean dishes such as o-deng tang, jjambbong, jjin mandoos, bokeum bop, etc. I did a carry-out of kimchi and the beef(kind of like bulgogi) kimbops. I was a little surprised at the price, as 1 roll was about $ 6. Both of the kimbops were okay — the beef one had an okay flavor, but I feel as it should have been marinated more for more savoriness; the kimchi one was okay, as it was well-fermented. The guy who took my order was very sweet and friendly, and the staff here in general seemed quite awesome: D I’m glad I was able to check this place out, but I have my favorite back in Annandale. +friendly staff +overpriced kimbop! Dumpling ramen soup is delicious! Tasty dumplings and just enough spice to it. Very generous portions. Very friendly service.

I have driven past this place for many years and never thought to check it out. My roommate brought me here last week, and I really liked it. KBNR is an unpretentious Korean deli with about 30 – 40 menu items. The tables are arranged neatly and tightly in a square space built for visibility. Be on the lookout for hot Thai chicks when you go. We chose the veggie kimbap, janpong ramen, and kimchi dumplings. After the usual bonchon courses were served(cool and refreshing, neither endearing nor disgusting), the veggie kimbap came first. It was neatly prepared, fresh, and flavorful. Second, the janpong ramen had several tentacles of squid, one shrimp with the shell on, and two or three tiny clams with no shell. The noodles were standard college-dorm ramen(salty and satisfying). However, I was pleasantly surprised that the broth was spicier than I had had at other janpong places. Third, the kimchi dumplings came in a bamboo steamer. The skin was delicate; so, one must take caution as to avoid breakage as much as possible. The dumplings had a subtle kimchi flavor, and I was not disappointed. This food will not knock your socks off, because it is after all more of a street food joint. That being said, I love street food, because I am from the mean streets of ECMD. I pour a little soy milk for my homies, ‘cuz I’m moderately allergic to it, na mean. The service was friendly and timely. The food had great flavor and texture. I would probably avoid their ramen in the future and opt for the big bowl of clam noodle soup.(I forgot what it’s called. My bad, comrades.) Without a doubt, I will return for their kimbap and kimchi dumplings.

I actually don’t like kimbab, but kim bob na ra’s a whole nother story~ This is probably my favorite place to grab korean food in ellicott city! Yes, I know there is shin chon, honey pig, bon chon, lighthouse tofu all nearby, but this place really has their korean STREETFOOD down! I ALWAYS have to get their ddukkbokki + kimmalyi combo– it’s THEBEST flavor combination out there on this Earth! Their kimchi dumplings are also scrumptious– they’re practically jumbo size and aren’t shy in showing off their spiciness! Oh, and remember how I said this place is all about embracing that Korean street food? Yeah, the atmosphere of the place is just as casual so don’t plan on having a nice date here or anything like that. I’d say this is a nice spot to come with family or close friends for a quick bite! The downside of this place? The parking lot is always packed and the restaurant is fairly small and crowded. …but who cares when the food is this good, plentiful, and cheap!

It was like stepping into a noodle shop in Korea. It is an unpretentious Korean street food. My husband likes it. He likes the joo kae jang kimchi soup with shredded beef. Forgive my Korean! They bring the small side dishes for you with no charge.

If you’re craving simple and cheap Korean food, this is the place for you! Their menu is pretty extensive for a kim bob place! They offer ramen, Korean noodles, Korean soup dishes, Korean meat dishes and etc. Definitely try their tuna Kim Bob and radukbokee(ramen + dukbokee), portions are huge!

I heard a lot of great things about this place, so I came to check it out while waiting for my Bonchon chicken to fry up! The kim bob(I got the meat and veggies one) was just OK, I’ve had better elsewhere, not sure what the big deal was. Their steamed dumplings, I got half kimchi and half beef, was good and tasted like they were made in-house. The pork donkatsu was NOT good though– it was covered in this weird breading and you could hardly taste the meat, just large chunks of crispy panko, oily breading? It tasted like they put a layer of soggy breading in the middle? It’s convenient and fast though, next time I’ll probably try different things.
