Own a restaurant myself and I am very picky. This was very clean, service was excellent and food was fantastic! We will definitely be back!

Just finished dinner here tonight and would highly recommend you try Cajun Depot here in Ellijay… the food and the service was very very good.

Ill give them a 4**** because I never had Seafood Gumbo that was almost as good as I remembered we also had shrimp and oyster po boy that was really good. Visited this small old town and never thought to have good Cajun restaurant.

We were here for their Fat Tuesday celebration, and it was great! It was our first time eating there, and we were not disappointed at all. They did a crawfish boil, and it was the best I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly and attentive, plus the manager checked on us more than once. An amazing little gem, and we’ll definitely be returning.

We’ve eaten here may times over the years. Today 4 of us rode up from Atlanta and weren’t disappointed.

My wife and I LOVE this place. We don’t go out nearly as often these days, as we home make most of our food. But, as far as local places, we’ve tried quite a few, and there are some good places in Ellijay & Blue Ridge area. But, Cajun Depot is our favorite. It’s ALWAYS great, we really like the people who work there, and it’s a cool atmosphere. We eat early, so are glad they are open at 11am. A couple weeks ago we went, and I’ve been trying something different each time. We LOVE the shrimp Po’ Boy, but wow… I tried out the black n’ blue chicken. Good golly… wow. Deliciousness. Might be a good place for maybe a small group, definitely for a couple, families. Get’s an A+ in our book!

Fresh food. Crawfish appetizer cooked perfectly. Not overly breaded. Gumbo spicy, but not overbearing. Discovered this spot on a quick trip to Ellijay. Planning to return!

Great food and service! I’ve never been disappointed with anything here. I think the hushpuppies are the best I’ve ever tasted.

Been living here since the restaurant opened years ago. Service is slow and the sides are all microwaved. The main portions actually tend to be pretty good. Unfortunately it’s entirely too overpriced for what it is. I can’t stress enough how mediocre the sides are. Go here if you have a group that doesn’t mind sitting together and talking for an hour while you wait. Other than that, I can’t really recommend.

This restaurant is really good. I am so glad we decided to try it despite the mixed reviews. First the waitstaff was excellent. We had a red head as our waitress but the other one there seemed great, too. Next, the food was excellent and good size servings. We order spicy Cajun items but do not worry. If spicy is not your thing, they had pasta and chicken dishes that should not be spicy. We started with a bowl of gumbo that we shared. The bowl was big so plenty for two and it was so delicious! I ordered the blackened shrimp that came over rice — 2 skewers so 12 total shrimp. My sides were a salad with raspberry vinaigrette served on the side — very good, new potatoes and spicy collard greens that were not oily or buttery just done perfectly. My husband ordered the jambalaya. His sides were cole slaw(homemade and not soaked in sauce which was appreciated), new potatoes and green beans. He was very happy with his choices. We brought half of our meals home and will definitely return when in the area again. Very happy customers!

Yes, service is slow, but that wasn’t a problem. We were not in a hurry, and enjoyed our food tremendously! We’ve been back many times and have brought our friends. We gladly drive 45 minutes to go there!

I had the oyster poboy. Which was excellent but in the 6″ you only get 6 oysters. I would have liked more. The bun was great and I loved the remoulade sauce. The fries were not great. Service was fine. My companion had the gumbo which was a tad spicy but excellent. Hush puppies were good too. His muffalatta was huge.

I haven’t been there in a couple of years until last week. I decided to give them another try and so I went for lunch. It was about 1:00 and there were only a couple of tables there. It took 10 minutes for me to order and when the waitress brought my food she never came back to give me more water on my check. The food was not anything to write home about and the service was bad.

We came, we ate, we’ll probably never go back. The food was not horrible, the service was ok, the atmosphere was quaint. Kind of a let down after having such an amazing time at BJ Reece orchards. Wish I could say we ended the day with an amazing meal in this precious town but that simply was not the case.

Restaurant is small. Seating area probably has 9 tables. We have the étouffée and the stuffed fish. Fish was over cooked and the étouffée was mostly gravy with a few crawfish. Prices were high for the quality of food.

I feel neither here nor there about this restaurant. It was very quiet here — in fact, our party of 7 was the only table for most of our meal. The menu was pretty sparse, but the items were tasty. Things came out from the kitchen slowly(again, we were the only table!), and our server, while very nice, disappeared a LOT. In fact, at one point someone in my party needed a condiment — and we had to call the restaurant from a cell phone to get her attention(she was not anywhere in sight). The server and our party laughed it off together(like I said, she was very nice) — but I still don’t think it was professional that she disappeared leaving the dining room abandoned for as long as she did.(no one else was working in the front of house either) Anyway, like I said, the food was decent — and the pricing was fair. We may be back, but its not top of my list of return places.

If I were only rating the food, I would give the restaurant two stars, but the service was outstanding. I’ve only found one decent restaurant in this area of Georgia and I spend a lot of time in this area of north Georgia. Compared to the options(Hardy’s, Arby’s, Ruby Tuesday’s, Applebee’s and many other chain restaurants), this is probably fine dining to the locals. I’ve noticed other reviewers mention poboys and muffulettas, but those items were not listed on our dinner menu. I ordered crab stuffed catfish with broccoli and a baked potato and my friend ordered the spicy steak with green beans and a potato. I really didn’t like my catfish. It was way over stuffed and the stuffing wasn’t very good. I learned that catfish really is a frying fish and not a fish that should be stuffed. My friend didn’t love his steak. The prices were way too high for the quality of the food. I prefer quality over quantity. If I’m going to pay around $ 20 for a meal in a rather run down restaurant, I expect real butter with my bread and potato. I guess I’m spoiled by the selection of amazing restaurants in and around Atlanta.
