Just polished off the Special. Hands down the best pizza in Ellijay. The owner is very friendly and the service is great. I can’t imagine why anyone would waste their time on some mass produced place when this is just around the corner.

In town from. Alabama. on a mountain biking trip… found this little gem via the Unilocal app… wow excellent pizza… and very nice people… if i ever come back… this place will be on my list.

Best pizza in Ellijay. No contest. Al is a really nice guy. Makes the pizza himself. Get the veggie pizza. He never skimps on the toppings. It puts the other places to shame. I refuse to eat anything other than Hitching Post pizza, and I’ve lived here for 25 years.

Unilocal reviews prompted me to stop. The only problem I had was that it was take out only and we wanted to eat out. Tried a sausage pizza and some wings as well as took home a gallon of Yuengling draft. Pizza was good and the wings were ok. Price wasn’t bad. If you want a decent take out pizza stop here.

Fantasic pizza! The beer selection is great, the subs are great but this is one of my go to places when it is pizza night. Loaded with toppings and the crust is just right– not too thick but not so thin it can’t handle the toppings.

Super nice people that sit on the top of the hill! It’s a package store on one side and a pizza/​deli on the other. As soon as I walked in the smell of pizza was amazing! All fresh ingredients with a super crust! I ordered the works and it was loading with toppings and the crust held it all without bending at all. It’s not too thick or too thin. When you have a perfect crust with good sauce and amazing toppings you have a pizza from Hilltop! Ill definitely be back when I’m back in town! Oh, it’s heats up the next day just as good!

OMG, my family and I have enjoyed «Al’s Special», pizza since 1992. Amazing the topping and cheese on the pizza, no skimping here. Little pricier then franchise chain, but ohhh so worth it. Give it a try, promise you’ll become a long time customer like us.

If you just want a good sandwich and perhaps a case of beer to wash it down with, then the Hitching Post is your place. I had the roast beef on wheat and mama could not have done better.
