New owners really making strides here!!! Fantastic pizza and good wings. In the process of tweaking the menu but seriously excited about the new Hometown Pizza!!!

Stopped in with Kim for a quick pizza. Got the Hometown special, was very good. Would recommend to anyone. We will be back to try a dinner.

Deplorable customer service! The pizza itself is mediocre at best(on their good days) the only reason we’ve been consistent customers over the past 3 years is because they are the only pizza shop that will deliver to our area. After this particularly poor experience with them, I can say we’ll never order from them again. I’d rather just drive the few extra miles for actually good pizza minus the ridiculous customer service standards. We ordered a large special pizza at 6:18pm and are told it will take the customary 40 minutes to arrive after we give them a credit card number to pay. At 7:40 we still have not received our pizza and call to check on what is happening with the order. We are told that the credit card was rejected and they called our number back with the news, to which the person they called(it wasn’t us) told them an order for the pizza was never placed. Odd right? After comparing information, the person who took our order took down our credit card information incorrectly, but they did however write down our phone number correctly. They just didn’t dial it right… Would it not strike you as odd that the person you spoke to on the phone was not aware of any pizza being ordered in the first place? Why then, would you make the pizza anyway to have it sit under a heat lamp for over an hour? We were promised a free bottle of soda with our already much delayed order for our trouble, but when the pizza finally did arrive at about 8:15, we were not given a soda. The delivery person said«I was never told about a free bottle of soda.» So not only was our order delayed by 2 hours due to neglegence on the establishments part, we received no promised bottle of soda(which I feel is a poor compansation for all the trouble and time wasted, hungry), AND were then served old crusty pizza. When I spoke to the owner on the phone, he admitted to giving us pizza that had been sitting for over an hour, and did not see how we the customer we’re inconvenienced by the mistakes made by the employees of Hometown Pizza. When I inquired about the soda we were promised he became offended and almost hostile about the prospect of loosing a few dollars profit to help make up for the calamity of errors that became our pizza order. He went on to state that he had the phone number of our business and would slander our reputation if we went on to complain. I have worked in kitchens in the past, I was always taught that if a customer is inconvenienced by our service in such a way that was preventable on our parts, then we should do everything in our power to correct the wrong as best we can so that the customer leaves satisfied and willing to come back. This is basic customer service, is it not? I worry about the security of something as sensitive as my credit card number when something as simple as a pizza order can be so screwed up from start to finish. It is now 8:51 and the second pizza has just arrived. I’ll finish this review with a statement, and a question. We will NEVER give business to this establishment again after the way the conversation with the owner went(rude, totally unwilling to admit they had messed up) and, who the heck did the employee misdial and speak to on the phone?

So let me commence by saying that these folks are very pleasant and welcoming here. The pizza was most excellent!!! Truly love how generous they were with the toppings. You actually don’t see the pizza itself its so loaded with the toppings.

Tried the pizza before and it was mediocre at best. This time tried grinders and fries. Cheesesteak grinder was very dry and fries I paid for didn’t come with my order. Called and they came 25 minutes later soggy and thrown in a greasy paper bag. Never again. Should have learned our lesson the first time.

For a traditional pizza place, I am a big fan of Hometown. I usually go for lunch and the service is excellent – fast and efficient, and they even remember my order. I usually get a salad, but the gyros are excellent as well. I’ve never had the pizza. Sometimes the TV is a little jarring. Ted loves his soccer and politics… ask him the best way to grill fish.

We’ve had a couple of take out pizzas from here since my last review. One was last night. We love the crust here, and the fact that you can get a «medium» sized pizza is great. Most other places in our area it’s either large or small. We haven’t gotten a burnt one yet(my boyfriend’s pet peeve, it can’t be too brown on the bottom). We would never eat inside again(see my prior review about the lack of service), but takeout pizza here I would highly recommend. The sauce used is tasty and it’s always loaded with cheese. I remember the first time eating here and getting the meatball grinder(my favorite), no complaints. Meatballs were seasoned and the sauce was sweet(like the pizza). There is no skimping here when it comes to the cheese, we LOVE that!

I cannot comment on the staff and say whether they were bad or not. However th pizza is sub par. I’m judging from a good NYC/College town perspective. The crust is dry. They cool the pies in a conveyer oven. I have never had a good pizza from a conveyer oven. Don’t waste you time.
