Johnny Appleseed Farm

Johnny Appleseed Farm has been an annual apple picking experience for many years now, the apple varieties number nearly twenty I believe; it is always nice to pick, eat or bake with fresh apples straight from the tree. There is a decorated eye catching fresh pumpkin patch display where children or adults can select their Halloween pumpkins or Fall yard pumpkins for display. A tractor pulling a trailer is available to facilitate movement throughout different parts of the orchard as certain verities of apples ripen for picking, so getting around this vast orchard has been made very simple. Also, if you like puzzles there is a maze cut into a nearby cornfield providing ample opportunity to display your puzzle problem solving abilities and great fun for the wee ones. JAF is a wonderful Fall local resource which should not be missed.

i don’t even live in CT but make a point of stopping EVERY time I’m in town! The quality of the fruits and veggies at the farm stands (both of them) has ALWAYS been top rate. I know that at times the cost of the same stuff at Big Y is less, BUT the taste isn’t there… and I like Big Y, just not for fruits and veggies that I can get at Johnny Appleseed’s. I’d rather pay a bit more and get FLAVOR that’s the same as when I picked my own out of my garden growing up! Wished that I lived closer and could get fresh produce every day! I’ve also found the recipes and other suggestions helpful and the staff friendly and knowledgeable about what they’re selling. Once in a while a younger staff member may not have an answer, but he or she has always asked someone else for help. HOORAY for you all! And thanks!

Employees should be more knowledgeable about the products they are selling. If they are uncertain about an answer to a customer’s question, they need to ask someone else.
