I have loved this place since I was a kid. Was sad to see the Bangor location go. The clothing selection used to be better though and now it’s either dated or well overpriced. The jewelry is pretty great and the items for the kitchen and whatnot are beautiful. The child area is strange and confused.

I have been coming to this store for almost 30 years now. I used to make special trips into town for this place. However, I went in today and WOW, what a change from what it used to be! Huge amounts of product are just gone. The downstairs area is. Bare and ugly. Hate to say it, but unless something happens by the next time I’m in town, I doubt I will be shopping here anymore. It just is… So much less than it used to be in every possible way.

Very cool and eclectic shop in downtown Ellsworth. Always a great place to find kitchen gadgets, amazing cards, and funky gifts. It’s one of my go to places for unique birthday gift ideas. Love when they have their sidewalk sales in the summer!

No trip to Maine is complete without a stop at the Grasshopper shop. This place is perfect for gifts, and is a chef’s heaven with things like: — beautiful dishtowels and tablecloths — neat silverware and serving utensils — elegant serving platters — a great collection of melamine bowls and plates It also has a fun stationary collection, neat little gifts, and awesome kids’ toys downstairs. I could literally spend all day here, and usually leave only because it closes way too early for my liking. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area and have any reason to buy a gift — for someone else or just for yourself!

Cool little shop that sells a little bit of everything. There are a lot of funky kitchen items, housewares and gadgets. You can find a lot of fun candle holders and other trinkets for your house. The other side has clothing, jewelry and shoes. Downstairs they sell games and toys. Just about every time I’ve stopped in the have some nice items on clearance that I’ve had to buy. Definitely worth a look.

This used to be the coolest store in downtown Ellsworth and I was super excited to check it out when we were back in Maine this summer but I was a little disappointed I gotta say. So instead of 5 stars I’m only giving them 4. I know, ooooooo scary. It’s still a great spot to find unique housewares, jewelry, cards, candies, and other doodads. I just remember it having a much larger selection of things back in the day. I mean, this was one of the first stores in downeast Maine to offer Kenneth Cole shoes(ok shut up, that was a big deal when I was in high school)… Everyone here is always friendly. I think they pipe Prozac in through the vents or something. Seriously, some of the nicest service you’ll ever come across anywhere. The location is right on lower Main St and there’s plenty of parking in the lot out back. Prices are what you’d expect in a high-tourist-traffic area without being exorbitant. They’ve toned things down and become less eclectic over the years but I would still recommend stopping in here for a browse if you’re ever in the area.

I really really really really like this shop. It has everything anyone can ever want, or at least a woman can ever want. It has the coolest kitchen stuff. From nice to casual, fun and designer, everything cool Mexican glass and scandinavian crystal mixed with melmac plates that look like Italian ceramics. so this takes up a portion of the shop. As you move around to the back there is a wall of the most useful bathroom stuff I have ever seen, Magazine and toilet paper racks that hang off the back of the toilet?! nice! Then there is a bunch of nice bedroom stuff, linens, decorations etc which flows into the best little candle section I have ever seen. In the front of the store there is a HUGE kids section and down stairs there is a whole bunch of games, toys, and more campy touristy things for cheap. In the newer second section they have the coolest pampering stuff. Like beautiful reed defusers, cheap manicure sets, amazing lotions for men and women, foot massagers and more. It’s a teeny section, but amazing. Then there is a cool shoe department where my friend found a pair of cool Frye cowboy boots that were originally $ 600 but she paid $ 40. they also have an amazing selection of clothing and undergarments. Cool jewelry and so much more. This shop has a little bit of everything and it’s all great to look at. Most is reasonably priced, some great deals and a few things that are a tad overpriced, but nothing boring!
