If you’ve ever felt guilty about a frivolous return, DON’T. This store is living proof that LL Bean makes a business out of your returns. Imagine this as a Goodwill store for Yuppies. Tucked into a plaza next to a Rent-A-Center, this is the down and dirtier side of those“teal,” «heather grey,» and«cornflower blue,» returns that you’ve sat on for two and a half years. Here’s where once popular products come to die, or at least be sold off at 70%. For the bargain hunter, this may not be your place. In the sense that there aren’t great bargains, but instead this store just brings the price down to what it should be. Like that scene in «Falling Down,» «I’m rolling prices back to 1965.» This store has a lot more space than most of the other LL Bean Outlets, and with their proximity to Acadia National Park, they tend to feature as much outdoors gear as they can. Less emphasis on clothing, but regardless they still have racks and racks of returned and liquidated clothing available for sale. My favorite of this store is all of the embroidered returns. So if you don’t mind having a backpack that says«AMY» even if your name is Fred, then I’ve found the perfect store for you. Parking is plentiful, the people are super nice and they even have a restroom(admittedly it wasn’t very clean).
