A classic café restaurant. We dropped in before leaving to Acadia. The server was friendly and took great care of us. The coffee was great and awesome sandwiches. Only trouble was getting the check, it took immense time. Hope you don’t get in the long line of cars during the summer times.

I enjoy stumbling on places like this that are off the beaten path. It’s definitely a «mom n pop» place, but I was pleased to find that I could order a gluten free breakfast burrito, something I haven’t enjoyed in a long while. The server was fast, friendly, and attentive despite how crazy busy the place was. It’s always good to see so many locals enjoying food and laughs. If ever you find yourself on this side of Maine, check this out — your mouth will be happy

It is a friendly and community feel dinner! for breakfast, I would come here every Saturday morning if I am local here ! Opens early and staff is super nice! The scrambler is pretty big size! Don’t over estimate your tummy!

The food was just okay, but the bill was wrong in many ways, seating was slow, service was very slow, and the order was wrong in multiple ways. I got about 15 butters with my meal if that is interesting to you, but not me.

Checkin/getting seated is disorganized. The food took FOREVER to come out(our entire time here was over 90min which seems way too long for diner breakfast. The kitchen kept sending out the wrong items from what we ordered. Our waitress kept complaining about being here on her day off and got into or personal space a lot. The waitress was knowledgable and told me what I couldn’t order because of my food allergies.

Solid, standard breakfast fare. No complaints. Wasn’t blown away or anything, but was pleased with the food quality, price, and service. GF says get the onions and peppers in your hash browns.

Just stopped at Sylvia’s Café and had a fresh haddock sandwich that was ooooh soooo good. The only thing that was better was the entertaining and good service of our lovely waitress Shana

Some of the best biscuits and gravy I have had. And I am almost always compelled to try them at a breakfast place. Good service and good prices, really a nice diner stop.

Came upon this place by accident, was trying to get a seat at Dennys and they told us a 50 minuye wait. Thats when we over heard an older couple say they were going to Silvias for breakfast, and I sure am glad I followed them. Nothing fancy about the café itself, typical strip mall variety, but the food was really good. We were in Ellsworth for a week, but ate breakfast here 4 times. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits twice(best I ever have) All the food was tasty and fresh. Bacon was cooked to order, not cooked hours ahead and left sitting around for hours before use like most Jersey diners. Service was great, had a different waitress every time and they were all fast and friendly.

We were looking for breakfast on our way back from Bar Harbor and found this place here on Unilocal, located in a strip plaza/mall. We came on Labor Day and it was PACKED. We only waited a few minutes for a table but soon after we were seated a line formed outside. Prices and portion size are good. We waited awhile for our food to come, longer than a usual wait, even though it was busy, and we were starving. The wait staff worked really hard though and they were running around getting orders, filling coffee mugs, and clearing tables the whole time. Food was standard breakfast fare. Would return again if in the area.

After 5 days of Acadia camping-great diner with real diner food(eggs, home frites, toast). Good service

We only had 2 people, but the wait was very long. It took 20 minutes to get a table. After we got seated, we waited another 20 minutes to order. After placing the order, it took at 30 minutes for the food to come. The food was mediocre. The waitress had an attitude(probably because it was too busy). There’s nothing special about this place. I wonder how it got all the good reviews. It’s not worth the wait!

Solid place to eat breakfast around the area, I would have given this place 4 stars if it weren’t for the awful service from the kitchen. Food was excellent, and tasted homemade. The wait staff was incredibly nice and friendly, however the kitchen was extremely backed up and took about an hour to get food on our table. The old couple next to us waiting just as long for only plates of scrambled eggs and bacon. Great place for food, but if you come here, you better carve out some time in your day.

This is your classic diner with cracked black plastic seats, swiveling stools at the bar and built up dirt in the edges of the linoleum floor. If I were a local I think everyone would have known me by name. We went for breakfast on a cold weekday morning. The restaurant was half-filled. We were greeted with a smile. We both went for omelets. I had a ham broccoli and cheese, with toast and home fries that I added peppers and onions to. I’m glad I added the peppers and onions because even with them the home fries could have used a bit more flavor. The toast, made from homemade bread, was great. My omelet had plenty of fillings and there were big chunks of real ham, not deli ham. The coffee was adequate, but I am tough with coffee. I prefer a richer, bolder roast and this wasn’t that. Overall it was a solid breakfast and a decent option.

A but of an odd location– sort of in a strip mall area. But the food made up for it. Plenty of hot-sauces to choose from and very friendly people. Perfect for breakfast before we hit the road.

Very good food! We were visiting and the place was packed. After a long wait we ordered club sandwiches. Real carved turkey and whole potato fries and hot. Delicious. If their is a own side they need more wait staff, but nobody seemed like in a rush.

Local Diner. Good breakfast and lunch options. $ 10 for coffee, eggs, toast, home fries, & a thin steak. Nice staff.

Oh my, what an experience. We stopped for breakfast on our way home. The food was delicious and inexpensive. The highlight of our visit would have to be Dad taking the food-eating challenge — The Hibernator Challenge. He was not able to finish but he and the boys had a great time trying!
