My kids and I have been customers of Beth S. and Lisa G. at Wildside Salon since 2006. These people are like an extended family to us. My son’s haircuts from Lisa are a walking advertisement for her. Other moms have taken their sons to her because they loved my son’s haircuts. She clearly enjoys giving him a handsome haircut. Beth does my color and cuts with care and precision. I get compliments on my hair from people, as well. All around, the trip to the Wildside Salon is pampering experience that will have you walking out the door uplifted and looking great.

Wild Side Salon had a great promo going on with Groupon for $ 69. This included a color or highlight, cut and a glossing treatment. I’m not from the area and thought I’d give it a try because I wanted a change. I asked for subtle highlights-I have dark brown hair that hasn’t been color treated in years. The girl that did my hair didn’t pull out a color wheel or hair palatte to compare and confirm what color to dye my hair. instead she asked the owner from across the room who said«what do you want, honey, them to show and people to notice or to be subtle?» I asked for the latter and assumed that they knew what they were doing, especially after selling over 150 groupons for this same service. After over 3 hours in the salon and sitting in a sink bowl with product in my hair fighting neck cramps over enough time for my stylist to do another client’s up-do, my hair was washed and we went over to the chair. It was the first time I saw them. ORANGE Highlights. To the hairdresser’s credit, she asked if I liked them and I politely said, «well, they’re lighter than what I’d wanted.» I guess it’s my fault for not speaking assertively enough but I thought that maybe it was just the lighting in the salon or that I could adjust to them even though it wasn’t what I wanted 100%. I used to have purple and blonde hair, thought I could handle how light they are however, after I got home and everyone commented(My friends even made jokes about how I’m in the spirit for Halloween. sad face.), I wanted them gone. I think the real kicker is when my hairdresser said, «wow, I’m glad I took them out as soon as I did» and the owner’s response was«yeah, you should watch those more closely» even though she was standing next to us the whole time and didn’t say a word. To further my orange humility, I called the salon the next day they were open to be informed that they would redo them. I said I wanted them gone and they agreed that the service would be on them which I was really happy to hear. The only downside was that they wouldn’t be able to fit me in until the weekend. I asked to see if someone else would be able to do it and they also said no one was available. I made my claim on how urgent the matter was but they still insisted that their only availability was the next weekend. In the end, I’m finding myself purchasing a box of $ 8 hair color to wash the pumpkin out of my hair. Embarrassing day back at work but I can’t wait a week to fit someone else’s schedule. My vote: «Skip it»
