I will drive near and far for a great salon. It’s even better when the staff treats you like family. I can’t thank Judith and her team of hair artist for their advice and suggestions on the latest hair trends. Don’t get stuck with same hair color and style. If you’ve been styling your hair the same way for the past 10 years, you have got to visit Judith and her team. Friendly, happy, nurturing, and talented staff that make you feel like a new person every time you walk out their doors. Just walk in and you’re in the best hands. The walls hold art installations. It’s a mix of hair salon/​museum. Going to the salon is a now a labor of love and the highlight of my day. It’s a great experience (my spa day), even if it’s just for a blow out. Full service salon. Glad to be part of the Judith B client-​family. Not one thing to fault this place. It merits 10 stars!

Nicole is the BEST, she loves her job and it shows. Not to mention how sweet she is and never once made me feel like she wasn’t listening to me or rushing me. She won’t stop till you are satisfied. And I wasn’t the easiest person to satisfy, but satisfied I was with her color works and cut.
The owner and staff are very friendly, I really liked the Spa lounge shampoo area where I enjoyed relaxing spa music while getting a scalp massage from Nicole. Much different from the shop area. Wouldn’t mind if the whole place was like the shampoo room.

Ive honestly been thinking about whether or not to post this review for a couple of days now but I feel it would be of diservice to others by not.
I had an appointment with Judith last week the day before Christmas Eve. I had contemplated and searched for a place all week before my appointment. Ultimately I went with Judith B because she seemed to have good reviews and was offering a Unilocal promo for $ 100 service for $ 80. I just had a baby not that long ago and money was tight around Christmas but getting my hair done was something I wanted done for months and through a bonus at work was able to afford it.
I explained my idea of what I wanted which involved a one color process and cut. Judith darkened my hair from a faded red to a dark brown solid color. She also cut 2 – 3 inches off. All in all the process took about 2 ½ hours from start to finish.
Everything went well until it came to leave and the receptionist said I owed $ 197. I was appalled. Literally sick to my stomach. With the $ 100 certificate I purchased I figured I would owe a little bit but never did I imagine I would owe another $ 100. Never in my life have I spent that much on simple cut and color in my life. Though I was satisfied with the results I must say I have thought about the experiance several times since it happened.
Im sure some of you can relate to being a mother who has a limited amount of money to set aside for herself to do something nice and I dont want anyone else to be con’d the way I felt I was. I felt as though those prices should have been disclosed up front or at least discussed with me.
BUYER BEWARE! For a salon that has only been open a year they are charging an arm a leg for their services and claiming to be a affordable salon that carries afordable product for people like me. That is not the case. She even got that $ 20 I had saved on Unilocal back by charging me a $ 25 extra color fee because she said I had thick hair. My hair is no where near thick and I felt I was only charged that because I was using the Unilocal coupon.
I wish of could have wrote a different review about how pleasant my experience was but instead im left with the sting of a $ 200 hair appointment.

Mary is awesome with blondes! Takes for her time and does an amazing job! Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fresh look:)

If you are looking for a stylist that is passionate about what they do, look no further and book your next appointment with Nicole! I went into Judith B a few days ago looking to do something different with my black hair. I gave Nicole a general idea of what I was looking for and she took over from there. Needless to say, the results were even better than I could have imagined.
There were a number of things that made this salon different from the rest, First of all, the service is awesome! As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted immediately and handed a beverage menu. Everyone is super friendly and makes you feel very welcome. Next, the stylists there actually listen to you and want you to get exactly what you came in for. Nicole is the QUEEN of balayage coloring. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to color their hair, whether you know what you want or not. This salon also stays on top of the latest trends with beauty classes.
This is definitely my new go to salon. And ASK FOR NICOLE! She is the absolute best! :D

Judith at Judith B is an artistic genius! I went in knowing what I kind of wanted, and what my current pain points were with my hair. Judith listened to me, and even though it was my very first time there, she managed to give me exactly what I wanted and more! She gave my red hair a rich and varied look by applying 5 different colors in complementing shades to my hair, weaving them through artistically and then making sure they blended together naturally, leaving me with a beautiful and natural color.
I also have curly hair, though I did not realize how curly it really was. All those years of curling my hair, spending time on expensive volume and root lifters and blow drying it painstakingly — Judith actually showed me how to work with my hair instead of fighting it and then trying to recreate it again. She suggested the proper haircare products, showed me how to use them, gave me tips about blowdrying and styling my hair, and so much more. And the cut itself is fabulous. She was able to quickly solve some of the issues I had with my hair. Simply fantastic.
Judith is a haircare educator, and during our appointment, many of the other stylists came by to observe as she imparted bits of wisdom. I love seeing a salon that stresses education and cutting edge techniques.
The salon itself has a great vibe — comfortable and friendly. They offer you a drink menu with several different types of naturally flavored water and other drinks. So nice to get a custom made glass of strawberry infused water. And all the other stylists are equally talented. I highly recommend this salon — it’s like a city salon fell smack dab in the middle of the burbs!

Awesome advice for when you have no idea what style you looking to do! Great staff! Clean environment and you feel refreshed walking out the door. Def returning for my next visit, Judith is phenomenal!

This salon is THE BEST! So clean and inviting, I felt like a queen. Nic is top notch and I won’t let anyone else do my hair. Her cuts are so fresh and her color is spot on. She really takes time with her clients and is a true artist. She’s been doing my hair for 4 years. I know I can go in and say «Go for it!» And she will make me look awesome. She’s very knowledgable and yet very humble and always listens to my thoughts and ideas. So glad she’s now at Judith B’s, which is such an awesome salon!
He salon is warm and inviting, it feels so welcoming. It is immaculately clean as well. Judith was very personable and greeted me by name when I walked in! Parking was easy to find. They offered me a drink and got right to me. The color was EXACTLY what I wanted and I felt really informed and taken care of by both Nic and Judith. So incredibly impressed and can’t wait to come back!

Judith gave me a haircut and the split end treatment. I would highly recommend the split end treatment for anyone growing long hair or with frizzy hair. After the treatment, my hair is so silky smooth and completely free of damaged ends from root to tip. Judith was also very precice and meticulous with the haircut and gave me exactly what I wanted. Worth every penny. Would go back, would recommend!

From magenta to chocolate brown, from color panels and ombré’s to «multi-​dimensional» highlights, from a short bob to long layered hair, Judith B is the only stylist/​colorist allowed to touch my hair. Coming to Elmhurst from the city sans car involves a lot of coordination and planning with Metra, but it’s undoubtedly worth it! The moment I sit in Judith’s chair all of my «commuter stress» dissipates and I’m treated to, quite possibly, the best hair-​sperience each and every time.
Her consultation is thorough, she understands a lot of things about hair and color that will automatically relax you (and, trust me, I am a total control freak… too many mediocre haircuts and poor consultations will do that to a person). Since moving from Florida and meeting Judith I’ve had a wide variety of hair colors (blue, purple, magenta, red, blonde, brown, etc), ombré’s, color panels, to the multi-​dimensional highlights I’m currently sporting. Additionally, I run on a weekly basis, so Judith routinely consults me on healthy haircare since sweat causes color fading due to recurring washing and putting your hair-​up causes multiple split ends (Ek!). She’s fearless, confident, affable, and is a true artist.
For me, the most important part of being a successful stylist is having your client completely trust you and that’s what you get with Judith. Judith B, the salon, has a rustic industrial aesthetic with lighting that mimics natural sunlight so you’ll always know what you’ll look like once you walk out the door. The end result and experience are both priceless, and she’s just a 5 – 10 minute walk from the Metra station for any of you city dwellers looking for a excellent salon (despite being in the suburbs Judith worked for nearly a decade or more in Chicago, so she «knows what’s up»).

Laura is the only one I let touch my hair! She’s been doing my hair for years and always does amazing– both cut and color. I like how she stays on top of education, and she uses it to make my hair better. Last month when I got my hair cut she used this new technique that cuts down on split ends. Yay! Also, if you say you want just a trim, she won’t go chopping off inches of your hair like other stylists sometimes do. She’s great, give her a call.

Judith is AMAZING! She’s been doing my hair for years now and never disappoints. So glad she has a place of her own. And booking an appointment is super easy. I saw her just before my business trip and the amount of compliments I got on the latest style is unreal. Guys and gals alike are in awe of my hair… mind you she only cut it no color so yep that’s talent. I couldn’t imagine going to anyone else. She understands hair and knows what cut will complement your face. You WILL NOT regret going to her. I can’t wait to visit her again to see what magic she has up her sleeve!

Nicole is amazing! It was my first time at Judith B Salon and I was really impressed! The atmospher and energy are great, but what stood out the most was my stylist, Nicole! Im really hard to please when it comes to my hair, but Nicole new exactly what to do! Highly recommend!!!

Nicole C. is an amazing stylist !! I am 7 months pregnant (please spare me on the you shouldn’t get your hair colored while you’re pregnant speeches) and have felt really down about my appearance the last few months. A week before my baby shower I saw Nicole and got a full highlight, tone and trim. I felt like a new women !! She really knows what she is doing when it comes to color formulation and foil placement !! The trim too, even though it wasn’t that much hair taken off gave my hair a healthy look, and the blow dry afterwards was amazing! 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for Nicole C., and I recommend everyone book with her for the holidays before she runs out of appointments !!!

Judith B the SALON… well, it’s fantastic… and I would go to ANY of the stylists who work there… she is really picky about the level of professionalism of her staff… and I know that education is really important to everyone there… so you are definitely in good hands. Everyone is super friendly too…
You need to book yourself an appointment at Judith B. Really. you do… because you don’t need your hair to look like you live in a midwestern suburb. Sorry, but you just don’t.

Mary Caskey has been cutting and coloring my hair for awhile. My hair is really curly and Mary is an expert at curly hair. Most stylists cut my hair too short, because they don’t take into consideration how naturally curly hair snaps back. I highly recommend Mary. She not only does a great job on my hair, she is a very outgoing person, and makes you feel right at home in her chair.

Judith is simply incredible! Ok, I am a guy. I didn’t have extentions or crazy things done to my hair. I went to see her and she took the time to ask me what I really wanted. I never considered it before. So after discussing and showing her some «looks» using my cell phone, she set to work. Let me just tell you I am 38 and very gray on both sides and the back of my head. The Gray is GONE. The cut is EXACTLY what I wanted. I literally feel like I have lost 10 years. Its amazing. I never thought that a simply cut and color would make this big of a difference to me. Thank you Judith!!!
