I just ran in for pops & gum to take my aunt who’s in the hospital. There was a cashier named Sandra who assisted me and she was very happy to help and asked who was in the hospital and were they ok. Just wonderful customer service! Which is just so rare these days I had to review this place. People are always complaining about places, but I’d like not always tell the bad about places.

The car wash code conveniently wasn’t on my receipt after I purchased a car wash with my credit card, then to add insult to injury, I go to pay cash for the car wash and it eats up $ 6 of my money and says that I’ve put $ 0 into the machine and to add more money if I want a car wash! There were cars behind me and the only way I could go forward was to go through the wash, so in addition to the $ 16 that shell took from me with no explanation, I paid for a crappy $ 6 wash just to be able to drive forward so that I could go into the store to get my money back. And in addition to all of that, the woman at the counter looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language and gave me a snippy attitude. I realize this wasn’t her fault, and I realize that she probably doesn’t even make a living wage working for such an awful corporation, but regardless of those underlying issues, I’m not going to pay $ 16 extra dollars and get nothing in return except for attitude.

I always pay at the pump and save my receipts. Lo and behold, I see on my credit card statement they added a few bucks onto my total amount — as if I wouldn’t notice. This happened twice! I had to call Shell and my cc company to correct. What a hassle. Tip: pay cash, or ALWAYS save your receipts and check your credit card(or debit) statements.

First off, let me say I understand how ridiculous it is to rate a gas station. I lived down the street from this shell, and had been a patron for nearly 3 years. I’ve only seen three men at this location. Two of which are very nice and courteous, one who is always rude, short and disgruntled. When ever I interact with the two nice employees, my experience is five star. However, it’s always a problem with the rude guy. The tipping point was a few weeks ago when I stopped by to buy some sprite. On my way home from work, I bring it to the counter and the rude guy rings it out. I slide my card, and he asks me if I want to run it credit or debit. I asked him«which do you prefer» because I know they get charged more for one of them, I just couldn’t remember which. The guy angrily responds, «IT’S YOURCARDYOUDECIDE!» so I select credit. This guy freaks out and starts telling me about how the credit card company charges him 30 cents and how I need to use debit or bring cash next time for small purchases. As someone who is in sales, it bothers me to see this treatment toward customers, especially because I asked him his preference. He even could have asked me if it would be too much trouble to pay cash, and I would have happily ventured to the car to grab some quarters. Needless to say, I don’t shop there anymore. I happily fill up and buy conveinence items elsewhere. That experience was a 0, but I felt it fair to give some stars for all the positive interactions over the years.
