Best LEGO shop I’ve ever been too. Been a regular for 6 years. Great staff, eager, knowledgable about the hobby and always ready to help. Have enjoyed the Monthly Mini Builds(you get free mini models to build first Tues. of every month, ages 6 – 14). In the past enjoyed the themed(Star Wars, Hero Factory, etc.) Club meetings I used to take my son to. You get t shirts, stickers, coupons and at times can take home the model you build. Well stocked Pick a Brick Wall(if you don’t like the regular kits you can pick various assorted bricks of all parts and colors to do your own custom models). Clean shop, organized and better prices than the Rockefeller Lego store. I recommend getting the ViP card. Don’t forget to ask for the store calendars. You’ll see lots of different promotions and events that take place each month as well as getting free models with purchase.

This location is just fine, essentially identical to all other small mall Lego setups with comparable pricing.

So I came in here and although it is a small store, it has a smart design. the back wall is floor to ceiling with inlay tubes of Lego bricks(color coordinated, obviously) where you can decorate your entire life with Lego tiles. Sounds good to me! Imagine making furniture for yourself!!! The buckets are similar to Chinese take out soup containers. Think small and large size, it’s $ 6.99 and $ 12.99. I did sign up for the LEGOVIP card, where you accumulate points to get vouchers for discounts on future purchases. The first Tuesday of the month offers ‘free builds” for kids during the afternoon to the first 50 people. Where little kids can build their own items and take them home, awesome right? The staff was friendly and makes me feel like I need everything in there to make my entire place full of Lego. You can even create your own Lego people and put them in a trio box to buy. Complete with clothes, hair, and accessories. Then they have the seriously expensive Lego boxes, Bakery Wonderland for $ 325.00? Star Trek Spaceship for $ 418.00? Um… no. But it is easy to go in there to ‘just look’ and come out with $ 75.00 worth of bricks and people. :raises hand: Guilty

We showed up here and were pretty disappointed that we could not find any of the pieces we needed for a Key Hanger Project(like this but bigger ) Nicole donated the last two tag pieces in store(her personal necklace). Then Jessica came to the rescue and found us a the perfect board, ran to the back room to find us the perfect hair for our lego girl and THEN she also donated half her heart necklace to us so we could have a total of 3 tag pieces for our Key Hanger. I just can’t get over the kindness they showed us. These ladies deserve a medal for coming to the rescue. THANKYOUJESSICAANDNICOLE!

I’m a huge Lego fan, in particular Star Wars Lego. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I live not too far away and come in every now and then. When this store opened, I could honestly say my childhood liking toward this product has turned into an obsession. I currently have the motorized AT-AT walker, Tie figther, Darth Vader’s Adv Tie, the Imperial Shuttle, Star Destroyer and the mini, and most recently added R2-D2 to my collection. The store itself is clean and well organized.

Stumbled into the lego store while browsing around the ghetto queens center mall. Store has friendly staff for kids and kid at heart. Didn’t buy anything but browsing around brings back memories as a kid. No pressure from store staff.

The staff here are very friendly, and that makes a big difference in a niche store like this. In addition, the store always has rare and hard to find sets in stock, which is most important to me as a collector. If you are a NYC Lego collector, I recommend coming here instead of the Rockefeller Center location, if only because you won’t be paying the inflated prices at the Manhattan location(a necessary evil due to Manhattan rents). Lego rules!

Years past, I had been relegated to traveling long distances to visit the few Lego Stores that had existed. Trips to stores in Chicago, IL, Bellevue, WA, and San Mateo, CA were a regular part of my reality. Recently, however, the Lego Group seems to have been on a wild expansion kick, opening up all sorts of Lego Stores everywhichwhere. This one at the revitalized Queens Center is located right near where I grew up. You can imagine my boundless excitement. Now, Lego Stores in general are a pretty amazing thing, even at the smaller, local-store scale. This particular Lego Store features the ever important«Pick-A-Brick» feature at the back of the store. Customers can grab one of two sizes of container, walk up to the assortment of clear bins recessed into the wall(each filled with one particular random brick), and then fill this container with as many such bricks as they can fit inside. Compared to the larger flagship Lego Stores, such as the one in Chicago or in New York’s Rockefeller Center, the Pick-A-Brick experience here is much more relaxing. As an adult fan of Lego, I occasionally feel a bit out of place while pushing away excited children to get at the sweet bricks I so desperately crave. At this less touristy location, there are way fewer crazed children for me to push aside in my even-more-crazed rampage. I can more calmly fill my container to my heart’s content. A couple more Pick-A-Brick tips:(1) You can re-use a container from a previous trip. The store credits you with a small discount, and the store employees will also know you are a total insider and will treat you like royalty.(2) Pick-A-Brick is a great opportunity to stock up on many copies of one specific brick — a practice that is very important for acquiring the repeated elements needed for larger creations.(3) If you need even more than a Pick-A-Brick container can hold, you can buy the featured bricks by the case. Just talk to a clerk. As I have already alluded to, this is a smaller Lego Store location. It does not have all the glamor and excitement of the larger, tourist-attraction-type flagship stores. There are no gigantic custom models to provide backdrops for family photos. There are no humongous displays. Like other local stores, the Queens Center Lego Store still features, in addition to the Pick-A-Brick, displays featuring certain retail models, displays of smaller custom models, and computers to use for the Lego Digital Designer(LDD), a CAD program to construct and order custom models directly from the Lego website. The store is also pretty extensively stocked with current Lego Group retail models. The store itself is relatively new, and I would love to see the store include more community-oriented features. Certain local stores I have visited in other cities, such as the store in Bellevue, WA, had displays called«Window on the Community» that showcased the work of local builders. It was pretty fantastic to see a build that I recognized from an internet image on flickr. The best part about this particular store, however, is the wonderful staff. All are really friendly and helpful. They are helpful with helping parents select sets to buy for their kids, energetic and friendly with the kids themselves, and welcoming of adult fans as well. If you are looking for a more personal and less intense Lego Store experience, or want the convenience of a store near you, the Queens Center Lego Store does not disappoint.
