One of my favorite places to go in Elmira. The ladies that work there are great. The food is amazing. I love the Greek pierogi. I also love to but smoke sausage and cheese from there. I love that Elmira has this amazing restaurant!

My husband stopped and ordered dinner one night and be prepared to wait if you order to go we both ordered a combo they had and waited roughly 20 – 25 minutes but they make everything fresh for you! I’d recommend calling ahead if you aren’t eating in. The food was good and has that home cooked taste. Make sure you give yourself a few minutes to check out the items they have for sale though. You have to try the cheesesteak pierogi. The garlic potato though I’d skip it’s a bit bland.

We were on a road trip and stopped for gas nearby and decided to drop in for pierogies. We were so glad we did. The young guy behind the counter was really friendly and helpful — I’m guessing it might be family-owned, but I don’t know. We watched them making the pierogies behind the glass partition, which was cool. They had a whole table laid out with samples of their pretzels/dips/chocolates, but it was just before Christmas, so that might have been a holiday tasting(which totally worked; we bought their goods). They sell things like sausages, pickles, sauerkraut. We had to wait about ten minutes for the pierogies, which were basically the best I’ve ever had, including in Jefferson Park in Chicago(big Polish neighborhood). We got potato, mushroom, and a «Greek» one that was feta, sundried tomatoes, and olives — no idea how traditional that one is but it was good too. Kind of sad I have no reason to be in Elmira again. Man that was tasty.

My husband, mother in law, and I tried a variety of pierogies from here. We tried the potato and sauerkraut, potato bacon cheese, farmers cheese and scallion, pulled pork, pizza, and philly steak cheese. We thoroughly enjoyed the pierogies. All of us agree that the traditional flavor pierogies were our favorites, but the others were creative and great to try. The prices were also very reasonable. As a side note, my husband and I picked up the pierogies and then we had them for dinner two to three hours later and they all reheated very nicely. We are already talking about getting more when my husband and I are back in the area at Christmas time.

Stopped here on a lark, trying to find a sit-down place to eat while on a driving trip to see fall foliage. The location beside a car wash was a little strange, but I’m so glad we tried it! Part grocery store, part sit down café, with an open kitchen, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The kitchen staff were bustling around, and I loved watching them make the pierogi. The menu was extensive, with sweet, vegetarian, and savory options and the daily special of kielbasa and 4 piergoi was a deal and a half. They allowed us to have different pierogi, so we were able to sample several different ones. The manager delivered our food and to say it was fantastic is a massive understatement. The pierogi were hot, tasty, and made to order. The kielbasa was juicy and the Polish mustard served with it was fabulous. We decided to order some sweet pierogi and were torn between the blackberry and apple as favorites. Wish these guys were local, so I could become a regular. Special kudos to the manager and gentleman who spoke with us at length about the history of the company and how they work.

In elmira for the weekend… my eyes always wide open for that great hole-in-the-wall restaurant, sandwich shop… I really try to avoid the chains. .stumbled past this place on way to ball field. it’s located within a car wash facility. great menu. real treat to find this kind of food, but I’m in the right environment for it. very clean.not overly friendly. .waited for order to the point, that I contemplated walking out, had I not already paid for it. Packaging of products was great.. I ordered the«vanilla» of pierogie. .potato/chedder.was beyond bland… no flavor at all, no salt, no pepper, no cheese flavor. .disappointed. .and we’re rationing the onions… The sauerkraut pierogie was great. Hook this up with some kielbasa. .homerun… The place really needs some warmth from its employees and there were plenty of them. It’s just across from school you’d drive right past… I don’t mind paying for quality homemade product. just a notch $$ more then I thought it should have been, but how often do you come across homemade polish food. 6.21 for 6 pierogie

The restaurant features an open kitchen so you can watch homemade Pierogii dough rolled out and filled with homemade fillings, homemade noodles being rolled, cut and dried for all of their noodle dishes. All of their sausages are authentic polish, Hungarian and Czec made in the traditional ways of these cultures. What is there not to like?! The food is AMAZING!!! Every meal tastes like my husband’s grandmother’s recipes. She also made everything from scratch, including her noodles and pierogi dough. If you are looking for a very authentic restaurant experience that serves homemade(right before your eyes) Polish, Hungarian, and Czechoslovakian food, you will be absolutely thrilled. It is a treat for us to take our kids and friends there and share with them what real authentic Eastern European Cuisine should really taste like. I am saddened by Robert W.‘s review. I know for a fact that the restaurant can handle very large orders and will cater. I hope that he will give her a second try. Next time, ask for«D» — the owner. She is a very warm and engaging woman.

I really like this pierogi palace and have become a bit of a regular after five visits. The cabbage roll order is gigantic, delicious and will feed a couple several meals. So many great items that I suggest you eat something there and take an dish to go. Really love all the choices. I could live on the mushroom pierogis. The prices at the market/cold cut area are very fair and of high quality. Just have to go back.
