Broccoli w. Garlic sauce: Good!
Fried Rice: Great!
Sweet and sour shrimp: fresh and good!
General Tso’s shrimp: Old and gross!
Beef and Broccoli: very good!
Friendly staff… Would order from again, just not the general tso’s shrimp!

Happy Family is our FAVORITE place to eat in Elmira. It’s not fancy, but the food is exceptional. After trying several other Asian outlets in Elmira, Happy Family wins hands down as far as we’re concerned. I was a food buyer in Las Vegas and truly appreciate the difference here. Our favorite dish is the HOUSE SPECIAL MEI FUN (with rice noodles). The Shrimp Tempura will make you moan with pleasure. We’ve also enjoyed the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Moo Gai Pan with white sauce, and Fried Chicken with pork fried rice. We HIGHLY recommend it to everyone and are headed there right now for Sunday lunch.

I order from here weekly and I always go with the General Tso’s Chicken. It’s consistently the same quality and taste. They never need more than 10 minutes to have the food ready. The large order is enough food for two people to eat, so the portions are not skimpy. My go to spot for Chinese takeout in Elmira!
