Been a customer for years. Sold house. Asked for minimal servicing for heating and cooling per engineers request. Rude, arrogant idiot(backed up by rude, arrogant owner) wrote scathing report about things(on a 22 year old system) that I never asked for then told me I was was putting lives in jeopardy if I didn’t address long list of problems(erroneous) to new buyers. Stay away. Bad Bad Bad.

I have been a customer of Bruni & Campesi for many years. Routine maintenance mostly, and occasional repairs. They were/are expensive, but also convenient and reliable. Recently, my experiences were less positive. For a routine boiler checkup, I had three cancellations, for one of which I waited until 10pm with no phone call from them(I called them, and found out the tech was delayed at another call — but I should have been told). They did give me a credit, but still. Finally, when the scheduled work was eventually done, the technician overcharged me by $ 200. When I called Bruni & Campesi to request that the $ 200 be credited back to my charge card, they refused. They insisted that the refund would be by check, because that is what they do — end of story. My mail delivery is spotty at best, so a credit to my charge card works much better for me. The Bruni & Campesi rep couldn’t have cared less. Let’s see if i get the check. there are plenty fo other hvac companies out there which I am sure would be happy to have my business.

Run… run far far away. Was it incompetence or was it planned? Only Bruni or maybe Campisi would know. Let’s put it this way, the super duck they sent over huffed and puffed until the pipe broke. No silly, you were only suppose to replace some parts, not break the pipe. Then with the zest of a super turtle, he goes ahead to replace the faucet in amazing(slow) time. Instead of grabbing a bag or case of tools, he went out to his super-van about 4 times — each time to bring back a tool or two. I think he must have took a nap too, because the walk was only 1 block, but took him 10 – 20 minutes. So, a $ 300 repair turned in to a $ 480 replacement. BUT wait, the $ 480 replacement? Nah, that was just a quote. They FORGOT to tell me about the ehem ‘hidden’ fees… the bill was tada… $ 1300+… but they said… please. Yes they were incompetent, padded the time(with those trips to the van), and piled on hidden fees… but they were polite.

We are long-time B&C customers for heating and plumbing. Latest issue was a balky kitchen drain pipe that had somehow split. Technician arrived within the specified time(about 3 minutes towards the end of the window), performed the necessary repairs including replacing the sink fixtures. He also addressed some other issues that will require more involved work. Technician was professional, courteous and explained what was being done and why. The total bill was pretty high for the amount of time required. Labor costs were roughly twice materials costs. Repairs are guaranteed in writing. I would recommend B&C — just make sure they are within your budget as they are certainly not cheap.

I have used Bruni & Campisi for several years for my home air conditioning service. Initially I liked them and the little penguin logo, but I will not use them going forward. The reason for this is that I think that they overcharge and gouge customers for minor work. They get a lot of business by sending out mailers for a spring air conditioning service and repair contract(which is meaningless) for a reasonable price. This hooks people(like me) and they show up for the service. The A.C. service itself is ok(However, they never figured out how to balance the air in my house). The problems arise if something else pops up. Last year one of my units stopped running. B&C sent a tech over who went over to a switch on the unit, flipped it and handed me a bill for $ 300!!! He was in my house for less than 3 minutes. I called B&C to complain got the run around from several managers who were«going to make good» and ultimately nothing was done. I just gave up in disgust. This year my wife unbeknownst to me, called them for a service and the technician told her our house was in danger of burning down unless he «cleaned» the coils of our outside units. The cleaning consisted of taking my hose and water and hosing off the units for five minutes. The cost? $ 400+. A complete rip. I am now looking for a new A.C. company for next year because I will never use B&C again. People are happy to pay for good service, but when you start ripping off your customers it is not a good thing. Don’t be fooled by the cute little penguin!!!

Wonderful service. Sal is courteous, friendly and very professional. He quickly did the two repairs that he was called about and came up with a creative solution to one additional problem.

***BUYERSBEWARE!*** Worst experience ever! Spoke with Brian on the phone and told him this was our first time ever having to fix an air conditioner, in our first house. He was so confident when I told him we were comparison shopping, he told me to cancel all other appointments. WELL, HEDIDN’T SAYTHEYNOTONLYCHARGEFORTHEVISITTOGIVEANESTIMATE, BUTADD A FEEFOREVERYHALFHOURTHEPERSONISATYOURHOUSE. In fact, this was never stated until the time was taken to look at our system. Then the technician asked me to sign and PAY! I was astounded! Neither the web site nor the agent on the phone mentioned any charge for an estimate, and a very nice local company had JUST been at our house and gave a fair, free estimate for the same job that WASMOREAFFORDABLEANDINCLUDEDEXTRASERVICEONOURCENTRALAC. Charlie, the technician was not friendly at all and I ended up kicking him out of our house while yelling at Brian on the phone for NEVERANNOUNCINGTHEREWOULDBEANYFEESCOLLECTEDFORANESTIMATE. I’d never use this company for anything, sorry to say.
