My go-to bagel place. They have fresh bagels and homemade strawberry cream cheese, which by the way, is delicious. You have to try their cinnamon raisin bagel. It’s so fluffy in the inside and crisp on the outside. They most definitely outdone the Mahattan Bagels across the street in my book.

I’m over this place. I’ve been here multiple times and I’ve always gotten the bacon egg and cheese. Each time, it’s been mediocre. The last time I went, the woman was kinda rude to me. I only come here because it’s conveniently close to my house. It’s all meh.

I thought this was just a standard bagel shop until I saw all the autographed pictures. Mostly from law and order, guess someone was a fan! I ordered an egg white and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. As much as i want to love it, I only liked it cause I was starving. The bagel was great, fluffy and warm. But the amount of egg they put in it was minuscule. I felt like I was mostly eating the bagel, I had to rip pieces off of it to find the egg and cheese inside. The place itself is small, have a couple of seats for people to eat quickly. I haven’t tried the cream cheese so can’t comment on that. PS. Staff is very friendly! Brownie points right there.

Super yum bagels! We tried Sesame, Everything and Poppy seed bagels, all were fresh and the taste hit the spot. For my first visit here the owner gave us three bagels for a $, sweet of him. I’m hooked on these bagels now! My go to bagel place is this instead of near by Dunkin. Must give it a try.

I got the bacon egg cheese on an everything bagel. It was decent but the bacon they use is the really cheap kind. The bacon therefore had no flavor, otherwise it was a decent sandwich.

That’s an excellent Everything bagel! It’s SOO hard to find a good bagel joint these days! I hope he run the stupid Manhattan bagel place(who had the gall to put up a place right across the street!) right out of business! I will definately be back when I’m in the area

Best breakfast sandwiches(they have the best rolls but come early for them), best bagels, and best service in the area… Real friendly staff, food is always delicious, and they always got my Snapple and YooHoo in stock haha… This is my go to on the weekends…

Born, raised and currently reside in Elmwood Park so I’ve been going here my whole life. The bagels are huge, but their crisp on the exterior and soft, doughy, chewy on the inside exactly the way they should be. They don’t skimp on toppings like onion or poppy seeds either like the chains and plenty of local joints do. Best bagels in Jersey hands down. They may not have the variety of choices that some people would like but they make up for it with great service and a superior product quality.

I’m a big fan of Bagel Base; it’s a small, unpretentious locale with phenomenal bagels and even better sandwiches. The people who work here are incredibly friendly and efficient. Their sesame seed-encrusted bagels are the closest thing I’ve had to St. Viateur Bagels in Montréal. Looking forward to trying their new lunch stuff! Keep up the great work!

Good Bagel, nothing special. The place is small and parking is not great. The bagel was fresh and soft, even at lunch when I bought. I got a bacon egg and cheese, I normally like my cheese melted, and this was not, and there was barely any ketchup on it. They do have a bunch of NJ celebrity pictures on the walls that are signed which is cool and adds that NJ joint feeling to the place. Overall a good spot but nothing amazing.

Good bagel shop that makes good breakfast sandwiches. They’ve added some new menu items, but the most important for me is the potato options! I can get a breakfast sandwich with potatos in it now. They’re more like thick cut chips than home fries though. The bagels here are pretty good. Soft, fresh, and pretty big. I like their veggie cream cheese as well. Overall, it’s a helluva lot better than Manhattan Bagel across the street.(In terms of breakfast anyway)

I have to agree with many other reviewers of Bagel Base in Elmwood Park, New Jersey: the Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel must be experienced here! The staff is extremely friendly and eager to help their customers, whether it’s a busy morning or laid-back lunch. If you visit the Base during the summer months, you’ve got to have Lou make your sandwich – he’s a fantastic short-order cook! Don’t forget to have your bagel toasted!

I’ve been here before to get breakfast and its pretty good. I get the usual– taylor ham, egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagel. The bagel itself is nice and soft and pretty big too. Its a good breakfast sandwich. You can park right on the street. Its a pretty small place, but it serves the purpose. prices are reasonable.

Mmmmmmm good Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on everything bagel. Asked for the bagel to be toasted and the bagel was still soft which was delish! I very rarely eat this type of b-fast anymore but I do have to say it was worth it! Got that and an OJ which came to $ 5.75. Parking is on the street but there’s also a shopping center across the street I’m sure you can always use that. Small little place but wasn’t crowded which I was surprised for a Sunday morning.

A hidden gem. Stopped in here for the first time a few weeks back. Had a wheat bagel w/cc and thought, «wow» well went back in this morning and had the everything w/cc. Outstanding! I don’t know how they do it but the bagel is not doughy or too firm. Just perfect. Service fast and friendly plus good assortments of drinks. I will have to try getting a sandwich from here next time. There are many places to get bagels within the area, but this is worth getting off the highway early.

+1 Star For Being A Success Story Quick & Tasty I enjoy the bagels here, plump nicely cooked and fresh, good folks to do business with. Thinking back to when Manhattan Bagels opened up across the street, I thought great another corporate chain putting the locals out of business. Luckily the Bagel Base survived and thrived, chalk one up for the good guys! Support Local Business!

2.5 stars… I rounded up on this one since I’m starting to wonder if I’m a bagel store snob. The bagels are decent, not fabulous. Oddly, there were only about 5 types of bagels on this Saturday morning at about 10 a.m. Plain, everything, garlic(2 left), and maybe 1 or 2 others. One of the people in front of me asked about the lack of options, and the owner said something about the fact that they hadn’t been rolled… it’s a bagel shop on a Saturday! There were about 8 types of spreads in the case and a couple of luncheon meats, alongside lox that looked like it had been there way too long. My BECH, although prepared properly jersey-style, lacked flavor(and bacon should NEVER lack flavor). I’m confused by this place to be honest. The owner/manager seems terrific, as did the woman who helped me. But I had to wait behind 2 people on line even though there were several people chatting up a storm in the back — plenty of people working and yet only the owner seemed to actually be doing any work for the first few minutes I was there. The space is tiny, and awkwardly laid out where you have to move through the line, past whomever is waiting for their order, to see what is in the beverage case. I’m also not sure what people are talking about with«sweet décor» or photos of celebrities… maybe this place has changed hands since their reviews or I just wasn’t paying attention to that. The décor was extraordinarily plan and I don’t recall any photos. I doubt that I’ll be back.

Little baby bagel shops should have a poster of Bagel Base above their beds, so they know what to be like when they grow up. The Layout: Nothing very flashy, very basic sign outside. Inside, classic New Jersey deli style. Walk in, you’re already on line. On your left, the deli meats, bagels, prepared foods for the day. On your right, a few stools, a little table in the wall, pictures and autographs of Law & Order SVU cast members saying how much they love these people. Very nice staff, always friendly and quick with service. The Good: Just about everything. The bagels are delicious, good prices, and they’ve got generous spreads. The sandwiches too are always delicious. Again, good bread and generous with the contents. I can’t express how simple this place is, but what they’ve got, they do it right! The Bad: Nothing bad, but I do wish they would have more specials. The parking is street parking, and this place can get busy so it’s not always available. However, there is a lot across the street you can use. Conclusions: If I’m in the area, there is no better deli than right here at Bagel Base.

BESTBAGELSEVER! They are super cheap, the cream cheese is delicious(and they give you a TON), the staff is awesome, and the décor is really sweet — all autographed pictures of the Law & Order casts. Prepare for a line but it’s totally worth it!
