Golden Cleaners

I just started using Golden Cleaners in the last couple weeks and I love them! Apparently the shop recently got new managers and they’ve been perfect thus far. I found them because their store is on my way to O’hare. I work in consulting so it’s super convenient for me to drop off my dry cleaning on my way to the airport and pick it up at the end of the week on my way home. The Kims are very sweet and I couldn’t be happier with the job they’ve been doing. Definitely worth checking them out!

I had a suit I needed hemmed (pants and jacket) and I needed it done that day for a job interview the next. We had moved to the neighborhood a few months prior and I didn’t know where to go. I called a few places and a couple didn’t have a tailor/​seamstress until Tuesday (this was a Monday) and one said they couldn’t get it done that day. I live in Chicago and looked at options in the nearby burbs. Thankfully, I came upon Golden Cleaners! They answered the phone promptly and when I explained my situation was told it could be done that day. I drove the suit over about an hour later and was immediately helped. I went to work and got a phone call about 2 – 3 hours later that my suit was done! I wasn’t expecting it until the end of the day. It fit perfectly and the price was reasonable (in my opinion… I don’t have alterations done often. It was $ 33.)

My wife and I just moved apartments and in our house cleaning, we found some old clothes that we had one day long ago set aside to make adjustments to. We hadn’t gotten around to doing it but once we found them again, we decided we should just bite the bullet and go get them altered.
I’m really glad I did and especially happy I found Golden Cleaners. The husband and wife owners, Sue and Mr. Kim, are INCREDIBLY nice, helpful, and experienced. They were able to take care of the alterations really quickly and I was happy with the price as well.
I had been a little bit skeptical of giving them my business at first because of the 3-​star review but when I saw that it was only 4 reviews and 2 of them were old and from the time before this new family took over, I felt comfortable enough giving them a try. They definitely came through and now I’m happy to have found a solid destination for my alteration needs.
Next time: dry cleaning!

Needed a same-​day emergency cleaning for a work shirt. Not my normal neighborhood, but I was in a pinch, so I stopped in. Everyone was really nice as I explained the situation. Got the shirt back in time for dinner at a fair price.

Lucky that I can’t give a rating of 0. These people lie about the timing of your clothes being ready and don’t tell you if you are missing an article of clothing until you calk them to argue the fact that you don’t have everything. Then after we called back to stress that we didn’t have everything they argued the point that at least we had what we picked up!
Some kind of customer service! I will never go back to this place again! I discourage anyone from going to this place.
If you want clean clothes on time and the whole order on time then don’t give a dollar to this place.

I didn’t even get to make it to the store, I called to ask for their hours and how much it would be to clean a jacket. I had a slightly bad connection on my phone, but I got hung up on. The lady sounded like i was bothering her. They immediately lost my business. How rude!

The owners were very friendly, prices pretty good, too. I brought a few pairs of jeans to be hemmed and they did a really good job.
