This 5 star review is mostly for Spizzico Pizza. Great pizza. Great service. Called in to pick up couple of times, and it was all ready to be picked up and go. They will ask if you would like them to cut it up for you, which is a nice courtesy and saved me time from cutting it myself. I would highly recommend Spizzico. As for Señor Jefe’s: They get a 1 star review. Ignore it like the plague. While they have good food, but they have TERRIBLE and SLOW service. It is clear it is poorly run as compared to Spizzico. On two occasions, I had to wait almost an hour for my food. The last time, I even called it in half hour ago before I got there and had to wait another 30 to 45 minutes for my order. The only negative that both places share is that parking is very limited, as both are near Johnny’s, a famous Italian Beef place. So, unless you are lucky to find a spot, either walk there or pick up your order. Even then, you may have a hard time finding a spot. So, Spizzico is very good and Señor Jefe’s is terrible.

Good pizza. I like the calamari too. It’s a nice little place to come hang out and have a quick bite. The times that I’ve been here, it’s always been clean and the staff is nice and attentive. Can’t wait to come back and try the tiramisu cake :)

This is a neat kind of pizza place. Good pizza, with a huge variety of options. They also have all sorts of drinks including wine, beer and special non-alcoholic drinks. Very cozy as well. People are friendly. First time here and when I walked in no one said anything about where to sit. So you have to go up front to the counter and then they bring the food out. It looks pretty nice to gave this kind of service but I liked it.

Take out review(Spizzico). I visited after passing this place more times than I care to admit. It is within striking distance of New Star Chinese, Johnnie’s Beef, Massa and a sushi establishment. That said, I have walked over it many times with a plan to circle back. Christmas Eve was the day. I needed bread(with pepperoni of course) to coat my stomach for the evenings festivities. I ordered two slices of regular pizza(not thin crust or deep dish) and spicy wings. I would not order the wings again but the pizza was very good. I will circle back to try more menu options and will update my review accordingly.

Pizza is good but our last and we do mean last visit was last week Friday — we waited almost an hour for a small pizza that serves 1 –2 people — all we were ever told was it’s in the oven. Finally at 55 minutes we canceled the order and asked for our money back — I can see if it is a Deep or Pan pizza but this was a small thin crust — Others came in after us and received their orders and left — too bad we have other choices like Pat’s Pizza on Lincoln — Old World on Harlem — Lou Malnatti’s at a variety of locations and Al’s — sorry you lost a long time customer.

Worst Deep Dish Pizza. Ordered deep dish which appears to be more like pan pizza. Turns out the one on the picture on their menu that looks like a deep dish is actually their stuffed pizza not the one they call chicago style famous deep dish pizza. When i called and asked about it got transferred to the manager who was no help and told us we ordered the wrong pizza. The pizza was not sliced at all, turns out we need to request it to be sliced, i asked for eating utensils and got none. The pizza does not look very appetizing either the cheese was all over, and more oil covering the crust it self. Mozzarella sticks were not melted, the cheese was hard like as if it were sitting for 4 days untouched. Definitely no one out of 6 people were at all satisfied, we will not return.

The food is good, but they regularly mess up my order for delivery. I’d prefer to receive what I ordered & not have surprises. If they could get my order correct on a routine basis, I’d give 5 stars.

I am only reviewing the Deep Dish pizza. It’s top notch. The sauce and cheese have great flavor. The crust is great too. Probably the best deep dish I have had so far in the Elmwood Park area.

P. s, my husband had no idea i wrote a review, he just knew i was upset and told him not to go there anymore(before i wrote the review). But knowing i love deep dish pizza, wanted to surprise me with it for my birthday. It was funny to hear him say«yea, when i picked it up, im assuming the owner, told me this time write a good review» with a very confused look on his face.

I come here for the pizza. The pizza crust is nice and firm and it’ll stay firm with many toppings too. I love that they have jalapeños. I hate having to substitute them with giordanera peppers. I also had their spizzico salad. It has blue cheese, red onion and fried prosciutto. Fried prosciutto! Need I say more?! ;) it’s a very tasty salad.

OK, I don’t often go back and write updates, let alone within six months of my original review. But I have been to this place a few times since my initial«Groupon visit» and each time it’s been a positive experience. Tonight kinda put it over the top though. I decided to mix it up a little and order an entrée with calamari. I like calamari(prepared right!) be it fried or grilled. But I almost always order it like that as an appetizer — never as part of an entrée. Tonight, I ordered the calamari with linguini, but I asked them to switch the linguini for rigatoni. Easier to eat that way. Well, I got home and opened up the container — this meal was loaded with really good calamari. Almost seemed like it matched the noodle count on the rigatoni one for one! The sauce it was in was outstanding as well. It was so nice to bring home such a great meal late on a Sunday night, what a nice way to finish the weekend. While I don’t foresee myself ordering pizza here anytime soon as there are a plethora of pizza places around here including several that I really like, for Italian food, this place has got it down. One more thing I’ll say about this restaurant too… for a spot that is somewhat fast food oriented in their approach to service(counter order, somewhat spartan seating, etc), the quality of their food and value is really pretty good. Nice people behind the counter too. For what it is, they’re in a five star class. It’s one of the few places I’ve used a Groupon at that I returned to with any regularity.

My son and I stopped in for a quick slice today. The pizza was solid. The service was great! I would like to return and try some of their other items.

A decent Italian spot with terrific ‘za. My first time here I got a pasta lunch(spaghetti with soup and garlic bread) and was totally nonplussed. On a second trip, I got the slice + soda meal deal and found that much more appealing. Spizzico’s hanging menus don’t have prices on them, although the to-go menus do, which is odd. Plus points for having Fanta and Mountain Dew in retro glass bottles, and additional kudos for having packets of crumbled parmesan and red pepper flakes for carryout orders. Really, really great pizza by the slice. And they serve beer & wine! Also(and I won’t dock them for this), most places won’t require a credit card signature for purchases under $ 10, but Spizzico requires you to sign regardless of amount. A minor inconvenience, but by no means a deal breaker. Would return.

Great little spot in Elmwood Park. One of few places you can order a pizza and a burrito from the same location and both of them be good eats. I recommend the tacos, linguine calamari or italian beef. Pizza is always good too. If in the Elmwood park area and looking for a quick good meal, Spizzico is the right place.

Best place to find great pizza, or if you’re looking for a Chicago cop. Veggie gourmet pizza is delish, so get that for yourself cuz the kids will hate it so you wont have to share. Let the kids battle it out over cheese or pepperoni. As a bonus, the cops’ presence is enough to keep all your kids in line.

Was gonna go to Jimmy’s but the line was too long. Decided to take my family for pizza and pasta instead and dine alfresco. Had never been there before, and was pleasantly surprised. We all had something different and everything was incredibly tasty. Food was fast, service was friendly, prices were reasonable, and the menu had a wide range of delicious choices. The only thing missing were white table linens and white gloves(LOL). I highly recommend this restaurant and I wish were was one near my home. Hope to go back again soon.

Just ate here for the first time and had a traditional thin crust pepperoni and bacon. Sauce was good, decent amount of cheese, bacon was kinda chopped up. But I do have one complaint the crust was way way to thin ! The layer of sauce was thicker thin the pizza crust. Guess I’ll have to get double crust next time !

I LOVE this place. The sad thing is, johnnies next store always has a longer line. It’s a gem. Can you get better italian food anywhere west of the city for under $ 10? No. It’s amazing. The service can leave something to be desired but depends on who you get. Try the linguine with butter, lemon and Parmesan. Yum!

I love their delivery. It’s always fast and the food is always hot. I usually get the Mela Verde Salad and add grilled chicken. The salad arrives crisp and the sliced grilled chicken breast on top is almost always still warm! Their portions are huge and their menu has something to satisfy whatever I’m hungry for. My favorite pastas are the Penne à la Vodka and the Mostaccioli with Sun-dried Tomatoes. Their Tiramisu is hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and they also deliver ice cream! Yes, pints of Ben & Jerry’s. Not to mention Eli’s Cheesecake. Mmmmm, Spizz…

Great food! Pasta always good, pizza has a lot of flavor and delicious crust and you can’t go wrong with Eli’s cheesecake. I have dinner delivered at least once a week. Always within an hour and never had an issue with an order!

Stopped late around 1030 pm asked young man behind counter what time open until 11 pm reply. So I ordered some lasagna. It was kinda tasty, but the bright red haired young lady was not so nice. She brought me food fairly quick. But felt maybe she didn’t want to be there. She brought french bread dry no butter. So I went back up to ask for some. Then she gave 2 tiny pads to me(never once asked how’s your dinner or can I bring you anything else) I wanted to leave a tip, but decided to clean my own table instead. I spent my time eating looking at the Unilocal reviews wondering how the owner can have kids that hate this job so much here! All I wanted was decent food which I did like and someone wanting me to be there someone being kind!

Overpriced, not great food, menu has way too much stuff on it and it’s all written on a chalk board for you to read. Am I the only one who feels weird reading a huge list of items while the cashier stares and waits for me to order? I got the italian beef and I wasn’t a huge fan at all.

I’ve eaten here several times and had it delivered for a dinner party last night and it was delivered on time, warm and tasty and the pizza crust was not soggy! Everyone enjoyed the choices in pizza that was ordered: Pepperoni with Bacon, Cheese with Basil, Sausage with Jalapeño peppers(my favorite!) and Italian Beef(very good with Giardinera added) We also ordered the mild, hot and BBQ chicken wings and they were moist and not dry at all. The only thing that they should have added was either ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing with the spicy and mild wings. All in all a very good dinner.
