Wonderful B&B! Found it on Unilocal and were pleased to find a quaint village frozen in time right by the river, yet all but hidden from the road. The inn passes for one of the historic homes that surround it, but it is actually a convincing reproduction crafted tastefully well. The inn keepers are a personable and delightful couple. The bed was very comfortable; we liked the sheets so well we bought a set from the same manufacturer. Breakfast was a culinary treat; German apple pancakes… yum! Excellent! Would love to go back again.

We made a last minute weekend getaway trip and stayed here with our dog. Only one pet friendly room is available. We really liked our room and the owners are very nice and accommodating. Connie cooks all the food herself and it is great. They definitely make sure you don’t leave hungry. This is in a very quiet historical town for a peaceful weekend.

The b&b is nestled in the bluffs along the Mississippi River and has amazing scenery. Had a great time. We will definitely be back. The house was very clean and breakfast was amazing. The owners are very nice and friendly and made you feel at home. I recommend checking it out!

I was in town for my husbands reunion at Principia College. We stayed in the dorms for a few nights… when a stones throw away was this wonderful B&B. Connie the innkeeper was awesome. The beds were über comfortable, the service impeccable, the rooms, clean and bright, and the breakfast was to die for. We will be returning for sure (as I’ll probably get dragged to a reunion every 5 years)…and next time we will only be staying at the Green Tree Inn. It was a highlight, and a true gem in the quaint village of Elsah.

Great out-of-the-way village along the Great River Road with access to Grafton and Alton, IL. The Green Tree Inn is the most casual and comfortable B&B I’ve stayed at. The owners are welcoming and the presentation is not stuffy or formal.
Breakfast was delectable with a «come as you are» approach. No set time for sitting. Cookies and other treats available through the evening in a beautiful open common room. Got coffee in my PJs before breakfast and enjoyed the company!
We will be back and we will tell our friends!
