Love it here, great coffee, great iced tea, great bagels. If I could make one small request, it would be fit a larger large, but that is because the iced tea is that good!!! Very hospitable staff and a clean dining area. Who could ask for more???

Even after crisscrossing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the turnpike over many years, there remains the chance of discovering a new source of amazement and enjoyment just off this major byway. So it was that with a few extra hours to reach Carlisle, I found a place to grab a cup and chill while I waited for time to catch up to me. Morgantown Coffee House in Elverson, Pa., just minutes from the Morgantown exit, turned out to be a wonderful oasis in which to relax, sample excellent java, and enjoy a fresh, wholesome breakfast. Working out of a renovated farmhouse with a early 19th Century ambiance, the first floor of this stone and wood structure is both comfortable and highly functional. The entrance is in the rear, and you walk into a pleasantly bucolic, wood floored, bric a brac festooned, café that Starbucks would drool over. Tom and his crew are friendly, forthcoming, and willing to engage in interesting conversation with their customers. I ordered their light roast mugga Joe, and a fresh Jalapeño Bagel surrounding locally sourced Egg, Sausage and Cheese. I opted to sit facing the expresso counter, although the front of the house offered a cozy living room with plush old chairs and side tables. The Elixer brand coffee was terrific with a spot of milk, and the sandwich was also super. There is a lot to be said for eating food that was on the hoof, or in the hen house only days before. All this, plus exceptional discourse with Tom about his business, and his obvious love of coffee. As we talked, he offered a sample of a new bean he was considering. I stayed a bit longer than intended because I wanted to extend the good vibes flowing here. By the time I departed I knew that Morgantown Coffee House had a new devotee who would stop in with each new passage across Pennsylvania.

MCS is an unpretentious but top-notch coffee shop. The staff is friendly, the coffee is expertly prepared, and the food is a bargain. I stop by MCS whenever I head from Philadelphia to Morgantown on a motorcycle ride, so nearly all my experiences are on the weekend. The coffee stands out in my mind as being very flavorful. It’s the kind of coffee you can sip slowly and enjoy. It is not simply a caffeine infusion. The cappuccino I typically get only comes in one size — the flavor is so good I am not concerned with the number of ounces. It’s a balanced, delicious cup of coffee. The food is also very good. the portions are adequate, but the flavors and ingredients always make me slow down and enjoy my meal. If you are on the fence about getting some food, I highly recommend trying it. My last complement to MCS is to the staff. They are always friendly and attentive. As a whole, MCS is a great place to stop for coffee and some breakfast. There are plenty of seats, and I would suggest anyone stop in for a light breakfast sometime.

MCH greeted my husband and I with smiles, friendly chatter and an invitation to return. Since our first visit, we return as often as possible. Enticed by the promise of good bagels, we return for the warm atmosphere and excellent food & beverage; MCH is the perfect way to start the day.

Awesome coffee shop in a renovated, quaint building. Perfect place to hang out, strategize, or launch a tech company! Free wi-fi, loyalty free coffee program, great coffee, friendly service. The food looks tasty and homemade. Will definitely come back any time I’m in the area. Have experienced boutique coffee shops in major metropolitan areas. This place has the same ambience and the building provides added charm. If you’re flying down the turnpike or passing through Morgantown on 23, worth checking out.

Excellent local Gem, the best bagels I’ve had outside of NYC. Lattes and cappuccino are fantastic and the staff is so friendly. Not a bagel lover go for the fresh baked muffins.

It’s really nice to have a good spot to enjoy a cup of coffee! I’ve been a fan of the place as it has gone through different owners and I wish good things for them. The coffee is good! The food is good! And the people are nice as ever. I do believe there are some things that will make them grow but they have made many positive changes in their new endeavor already. David has started to expand the breakfast menu and I LOVE the eggs with avocado and cilantro.(With a wedge of lime) :) I can’t wait to see what’s next.

This place begs an update — and here it is: Sweet sweet redemption. Back in town I decided this was the day. As I parked and walked up to the building — two people walked out and told me the coffee house was closed. My body swelled with disappointment as I asked if they were the owners. They responded yes — and offered to get me a cold brew on the house even though it was well after their 2pm closing time. Relieved and excited I accepted their offer. As they explained the cold brew, which was delicious, I identified myself as the dissatisfied Unilocaler of aforetime. They immediately apologized for the last experience I had and assured me they would remake me an almond milk cappuccino. They did. And again, delicious. After the wonderful customer service I received today and the delectable coffee I enjoyed I am updating my rating and urging everyone to stop by. Hopefully there are some fun events planned for the fall. I do plan on coming back. Thank you to the owners who stepped up their game, kept the coffee pouring, answered my questions, and got more baristas on the front lines. There’s nothing I love more than a positive response to a negative review. That is growth, and I’m excited to see what’s in store for the Morgantown Coffee House.

Very cute and delicious coffee :) We had to wait for about 5 minutes before someone came to the register to take our order though. I would still come back– the coffee and the atmosphere is worth it!

5 stars for this cute coffee house. I had a breakfast sandwich with prosciutto instead of bacon — so delicious — as well as a small cup of coffee. The coffee was great. Rich and nutty without being bitter. They put a lot of thought into the décor, which made it a really nice place to study for a few hours while sipping on that delicious coffee.

This place does coffee right and their food is great. Not too big of a menu so they are able to focus on the quality. Do a few things«great» instead of a lot of things«ok.»

AWESOME place! The freshest and tastiest bagels, eggs, and coffee I had on my trip from Pennsylvania to Nashville. This sweet little place is right off the road before you hop on the turnpike and can’t be missed for its character, coffee, and food! The coffee is rich and as fresh as you can get. When I was there they had a dark roast Ethiopian and a medium Peruvian breakfast blend. The Peruvian was incredible. And the food! The owner talked me through their menu of bagels, eggs, and toppings. I landed on a bagel sandwich with eggs, smashed avocado, sprinkled with salt and drizzled olive oil. Don’t miss out on visiting this place!
