Friendly and helpful staff. They answer my questions and always carry my chicken feed to my trunk for me. :)

The quality of their grass and alfalfa hay is superior to anything around. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. Just a nice, local feedstore with lots of other stuff for your critters.

The guy behind the counter is super helpful. I asked him about some advantage for my 3 small dogs and he recommended I buy a larger dog size and split it up three ways. He saved me a TON of money this year and showed me exactly how to measure it out. I tell everyone about this trick and where to get it. This is also the only feedstore I know of that sells ONE tube of advantage or frontline at a time. Most places make you buy a package of 4 – 6.

So… You want to move to Sacramento eh? You want to move away from the Bay Area and all the traffic and noise and actually afford to buy a house? What’s that? You want to become a pretend farmer and raise some chickens?! NICK WTF!!! Yes, my family is still shocked– but hey, this is probably going to be one of the only times in my life that I can do it– so why not?
Elverta Feed has been there every step of the way. I bought the three chicks (Two Rhodies and an Ameraucana) and all the needed supplies and feed from here. It is a really small shop with great service and always helpful. If I owned a feed store, Elverta Feed would be the blueprint for how I would want it set up: a huge, perpetually sleeping dog, a cat slinking around the feed, everything you need for every animal you can think of and really awesome people who are always willing to lend a hand.
The prices are really good and you can special order animal supplies that you might need but they don’t have on hand. A+ place!

Woooo Hoooo! This place is a doozie! They have all the fixens you need for your little farm! They sell chickens and hamsters and all the supplies you need to keep them safe and sound. You can even get supplies to vaccinate your pets. They have goodies for every kind of animal from horses to cats and dogs, oh and salt licks for your goats!
