I go for the pimento cheese sandwich each year when we make our trek from Ohio to EI. It’s delicious. Can’t wait to return to savor my favorite sandwich on the island.

Good breakfast place for eggs and breakfast meats. Pancake and the coffee was OK but not great. Loved the grits. Good bagel breakfast sandwiches.

Not sure what the fuss is. I give it 3−½ stars. Mediocre biscuit, pre cooked eggs, dry hash brown casserole. Husband reported that the ham was good. OJ in a bottle. Didn’t order the baked goods but they look pretty average.

If you are looking for an upscale, authentic deli style place on Emerald Isle then you’ll find it at the Village Market. This place can get busy at lunch or anytime during the season so be prepared to wait a bit for your food. I always call ahead to ask about the soup of the day and never miss a visit when it’s the Shrimp Corn Chowder. My only wish is that they were more flexible with their Breakfast times. Weekends on the Island are lazy days and it’d be great to have a longer window to get breakfast a little later in the day but the sign says breakfast stops at 10am «no exceptions». Update on 10÷28÷15 — now serving Breakfast Sandwiches ALLDAYLONG! Can’t wait to get my lazy Sunday Breakfast Fix at the Village Market and Deli soon!

Cute place! Sandwiches, adorable shop and fishing supplies all in one. I ordered the turkey club and ranch pasta salad. It was fantastic and filling. They use Boars Head meat and a wide variety of sandwiches, wraps and salads. They also have some bakery items. My lunch was prepared quickly and the employees were friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend for a low-key lunch.

Can a place have everything you need? This breakfast/lunch place was so good, we came back — 3 times in a row! We were on a hunt for vegetables, and we found them at the village market. The portobello mushroom sandwich was juicy and well seasoned. The salads and sides were great, and they had smoothies! We didn’t have anything fried! Yay! I mean I love a good fried seafood meal every once in a while, but all the grease was doing a number to my system as well as increasing my girth. And the people there were so nice! It’s connected to a gift shop and fishing supplies, so while I waited for my takeout(though you can eat in — inside or out) I could shop. I picked up some awesome Yeti tumblers that will make great gifts. I love this place and so does my family. We will be back next time we are on island.

I thought this little place was very quaint. My family members said 2 or 3 stars but it’s my Unilocal account :) We went there based on other Unilocal reviews. The main thing we wanted was the«gourmet» coffee. I will say that was a let down. We are self professed coffee snobs. We have to turn our noses up @ this. My hubby said he thought it might’ve been Folgers Gourmet-lol. I had the bacon/cream cheese/cucumber plain bagel. It was very good & I would have it again. Hubby had the everything omelette and said it was ok. 2 ppl had the Belgian waffles– one said delicious, one said meh. The bacon was perfectly cooked. Another person had French toast and he sort of liked it. The bill for 5 ppl was $ 50. Not sure my bagel & weak coffee was a $ 10 value.

Gosh we were glad to find this oasis in the dining desert of Emerald Isle. There’s breakfast and lunch meals only, in addition to speciality coffees and smoothies. The menu has deli/bfast classics and unique items, all cooked-to-order. Will try the prepared takeaway options next visit. Four star rating is pushing it for a counter-order very casual restaurant, but compared to the local options…

Great break from all the seafood we’ve been eating this week. They have a nice selection of sandwiches ranging from cold deli to things like philly steak and french dip. Food was excellent in taste and price Tip: arrive slightly before noon or be prepared to stand in a line. We go there just before noon and nobody was in line. When we left at 12:30 there was a long line. Also, they have take-out so you can call your order in and not have to wait in the order line. Separate counter to the right for pick-ups.

Delicious! This is another one of those go-to places when I’m on the island, and my do I frequent it! Their sandwiches are fresh and delicious(I’ve tried fish tacos, quiche, multiple breakfast items– pancakes, omelettes, etc.) and the meatball sub and turkey Rachel. Everything is a quality product, their homemade sides are delicious(always grab like a pint of pasta salad when I’m there!) and their lattes are wonderful(only place I can get a sugar-free skim pumpkin latte at any time of the year.) The people are very nice and remember you, and it’s a very homey little joint, complete with a delectable bakery(their cakes are AMAZING! Pistachio and bread pudding are the two I’ve had so far, and they’re both delectable.) The place is complete with an adorable shop of local art and wares, as well as local groceries(like artisanal pickles, spreads and cheeses,) and it has a good assortment of pre-prepared pies and whatnot in a fridge by the door to the outdoor seating. They also have sugar-free, delicious syrup as an option for pancakes, french toast and belgian waffle in the morning, which the rest of the island is sorely missing. Definitely make a stop here if you’re on the island!

Rented a house 2 blocks away for a week. Of course we found this spot on our last day in town & kicked ourselves for the entire walk back to our rental. We had lunch(the meatball marinara & a reuben), both sandwiches were delicious! Great side dish choices & the BEST iced coffee we were able to find in the area. Also has a really cute little shop inside so you can browse while you wait for your food. The store is connected to a beachwear & fishing store as well. Great picnic tables on the grassy lawn outside. Great breakfast/lunch find, or a place to pick up sandwiches to bring to the beach!

We visit every time we are in town! Great breakfast(haven’t tried lunch yet). I got the village bagel with bacon, cream cheese and cucumber. Yum! The hash brown casserole is delicious. Market attached carries cute nicknacks and gifts. They have outdoor seating which is a nice expansion for their small dining area.

Best random find! Anyone not local and doesn’t want seafood, this is the place to go! My son is very picky eater. He loved the grilled chicken sandwich so much, he got a second one to go! And we begged the chef for the secret recipe. Bön appetite!

Great salads and a nice place to stop in. I like the fact that it is next to Reel Outdoors as well. Sandwiches are also really good. Only downside is there isn’t much standing room when they get really busy. But you can sit outside, so thats a nice feature.

I must have just went on a bad day. It looks like a cute place, so I understand why people like it. I ordered a veggie wrap and since I try to avoid dairy I ordered it with mustard instead of the pesto cream cheese that it specifies on the menu. I ended up with a veggie wrap with pesto cream cheese, mustard and feta. The feta wasn’t mentioned on the menu, otherwise I would have asked to omit it. I’m a pretty low-maintenance customer and I realize that since I don’t have an allergy it’s not going to kill me, so I eat it. It’s fine, nothing special honestly, until I find a hair in it. I didn’t see any of the cashiers or cooks wearing hair nets so I guess this shouldn’t have been a surprise, but who enjoys finding hair in their food? My boyfriend had the prime rib dip sandwich which he liked other than the bread being burnt. My mom had chicken salad over a garden salad. She thought the chicken salad was average and the garden salad was sub par. Mostly iceberg lettuce. Overall it was pretty disappointing.

This place is as clean as it gets. I know that doesn’t always translate to great food or service but in this case it did. It also demonstrated a sense of pride and professionalism at what they do. At the heart of it this is a deli with an attached ‘vacation goods’ market — beer, wine, condiments, souvenirs etc. This review is for the food and the service. The sandwich and salad selection is quite extensive including build your own options. Most importantly for me, everything was fresh — the bread, the meats, the condiments, the sandwich add-on’s — everything. The service was very good and very friendly — I always love it when an expediter checks what comes out of the kitchen against the order to make sure that what you ordered is what you got — before you get it. Plenty of indoor seating and several outdoor seating options. They also have a decent selection of baked goods for anyone looking for dessert.
