Denny’s

Less than wonderful food, less than good service. I got greeted «no photography.» If I hadn’t invested two hours walking to getting here, I would have turned around and walked out then. No photography policy, well no tip for the server, and set a poor tone for my visit. The food was mediocre, though I would have wanted to photograph the interior, I did sneak some photos of my meal, but even then I felt discouraged. Didn’t enjoy being there, nor my meal due to the initial interaction. Show your AARP card for a discount here.

I just went to this place, got harassed by the security guard for going to the table that my friends were sitting at. They said I couldn’t sit with my two friends at a table made for four.
The security guard was menacing for no particular reason.
Horrible place…

Being white and trying to eat at Denny’s in Emeryville is now out of the question I guess.

Lady was very rude to me and my mom, she slammed water on our table, and ignored us when we wanted order, and went straight to the other couple to get there order, she also rolled her eyes at us and got a attitude!

The worst service and food ever. If it was the last Dennys on Earth and I was starving… I’d take one for the team… the end

Dined in week before Halloween… Horrible service. Served food, never came back to check on us. When, it was time to pay the staff kept tellin me, my card wasn’t working. After 20 minutes of all the employees hoovering around the register and saying well, it’s your card. I askex for the manager and explained that after all the inconvenience my meal should be comped. Leiana told me she couldn’t do so. So, after the horrible service and confusion my $ 8.76 meal, would not be on the house. So I kindly asked her for a a card for Corporate… And yes, my card went through finally, so it had to be their system.

This has to be the nicest Denny’s I’ve ever been too. I really liked the ambiance and décor, restroom was clean, food was great, service was excellent. The hostess who was also our server, Lionna S. (hope I spelled her name right) was awesome! She was very friendly, attentive, and checked up on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Thank you Denny’s!

You can’t see the people walking in? Isn’t it your job to make sure every person that walks in through your doors feels welcome and witnessed. Pink top you need training in attention to detail. You passed me up to take the name name of the guy behind me. Um. I was clearly here first. Mess.

The place you end up when you make mistakes, where the sick collect. It’s the place you go when you don’t want to be what you are anymore, drunk, tired, awake, alive… etc.
Oscar Wilde said experience was the thing men called their failures, but where did it start? I like to think of failure as contracting an illness, but one that isn’t yet discovered, one so contagious and widespread that it passes for a characteristic of the specie. That whole financial markets sprout up around and begin to nurture, that demographics begin to ascribe loyalties and identity to. Ideas so prevalent that they seem to be your own, that push all other ideas aside because they are most easily sated.
My real grandmother was schizophrenic bi polar, in and out of hospitals her entire adult life. When she went missing, which she often did, I was told she was often found visiting a furniture store. She would walk the huge display floors for hours. Then just before they would close she would hide herself within one of the mock room displays.
When all the employees would leave for the night she would come out of hiding and pick a spot (I’m sure it was picked long before this point) and sit. That’s it, just sit and be content, the whole night she would be there, smiling and looking on, out across the fantasy laid out before her, until the morning employees found her, sometimes asleep in her chair or bed, sometimes awake, lost to the world, just sitting there.
If you are tired, and can hear my voice, walk off the edge of the earth. I will be there waiting for you, we will fall together.

Dined in on Friday around 7pm. September 11^th 2015
My husband and I both ordered the Build Your Own Slam. My over medium eggs were perfect but everything else was horrible. My sausage links were burnt and crunchy and my hash browns as well. My husband ordered over easy eggs and bacon and yet again both items were so over cooked it was hard to consume. His eggs were so over done that he was able to pick the yolk out and his bacon was all black. Also the pancakes sucked. Both orders were gross and tasted like rubber.
Our service was very slow and the gentlemen seemed to not care. When we first sat down we waited almost 10 minutes for our actually waiter. During our wait we had closed the menus to notify the staff. Our menus were then removed from the table with nothing being said. Finally a few minutes later our waiter shows up. Took our complete order. We then continued to wait for a few more moments for our drinks — two waters and a juice. There was only one cook and our food took forever. By the end of the meal we had no drinks, lots of left over burnt food and no bill. Our waiter after dropping off our food never came back to the table. We had to get a manager to give us our bill.
Bad experience, bad food, poor service. We will not be returning — EVER. Thanks a lot Denny’s of Emeryville.
Ps. We did not complain about the service and the manager took no time to ask how everything was. Just took our money. Didn’t even get a good evening. Jerk!

The entertainment at this location at midnight on a Saturday night is priceless. I’m quite certain the security guard was on cocaine and as far as the clientele goes I saw three prostitutes, A Boys 2 Men cover group wearing head to toe white dress to the nines and what I believe was the angry doppelgänger of Evander Holyfield Junior.
Now let’s talk about the service and the food. The food was just as expected came out quick my order was right. Our waitress was possibly the best waitress I’ve ever had in my entire life, QUEN, thank you for such great service amidst all the chaos. Although my husband passed on the proposition from the prostitutes we did enjoy the meal and entertainment.

It is common knowledge that Denny’s isn’t really a great place to eat good quality food. On my visit to this Denny’s, I found that good customer service goes an extremely long way in terms of «eating experience.»
Our Server Adam, who happened to be a Sheldon (Big Bang Theory) doppelgänger, definitely changed the tone of the experience at this Big Chain Dinner. To compare, it was like getting Gucci Salesperson Customer Service at a Walmart. We ordered Zesty Nachos, but because of the service, it felt like we were eating Filet Mignon. Thank You, Sheldon.

I don’t understand now why my family ever came here sometimes when I was growing up, the food is terrible! This Emeryville location is awkwardly designed. It definitely looks bigger from the outside because the inside is cramped! Just two rows of dining tables and booths.
Pictures on the menu look so much more appetizing until you receive the food. There’s no presentation and the food looks bare on a huge platter.
Cheap but you get what you pay for!

The. Service. Is. Horrible. Every. Single. Time. I. Come. Here. Every. SINGLE. Time. Jackson, your waiter, is rude. The black lady waitress, she’s rude too. There’s another black guy that works there, he’s a waiter. He’s pretty rude too. If I’m gonna go somewhere and pay lowprice for some cheap-​tasting plastic food, I need the attitudes to be on point. Put these people out of their obvious misery and fire them.

This is definitely one of the cleanest and most efficient Denny’s restaurants I have been to in a long time, the lobby was very well maintained, the hostess was friendly, and the servers did an excellent job moving orders around quickly. I like the food here, but its not really much to brag about, but for the cost it can’t be beat. I ordered the $ 4 value biscuits with gravy (1 Biscuit with gravy/​2 eggs/​hash browns) and everything was cooked just right, all in all, I’d eat here again. Also, I love that this place offers all you can eat pancakes, it’s easily the best spot to come late night to soak up some alcohol.

Everyone is saying that the service here is horrible, but when I came here around 8am, it was amazing!
My waitress was super friendly and very attentive to be sure I was satisfied. She always smiles! I love smiling people!
I had the Peanut Butter Cup Pancakes and they’re no joke; the really load up the chocolate and peanut butter sauce!
I’ll be back if I’m down for another early morning!

Absolutely horrendous. Please save your money and time.
The employees are lazy and unfriendly. They stand infront of the cook and talk while they wait for meals to come out. I’m not even sure if there was a cook because nothing other than drinks and soup ever came out.
We waited 20 minutes to be seated. Another twenty for our order to be taken and then half an hour to actually get our food. Once we were done, we had to ask three times for our receipt and when we were ready to pay, we waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the register.
Whoever is in charge needs to make sure their employees are actually working instead of gossiping.

Came here with my friends after seeing modest mouse in San Francisco… we were tired and hungry so dennys seemed perfect! The food is exactly what you would expect from a denny’s…this review is based solely on the staff in the restaurant and… the other patrons.
My friends and I are from fresno so we have seen our share of weird people. but this was on a whole different level. This guy set behind us with his headphones on and… just stared off into space the whole time we were there!!!
also…at one point we heard our waitress yell back in the kitchen that she was so hot she was sweating right out of her panties! Needless to say… I am still giggling about it!

My husband’s family has a tradition of visiting Denny’s on Christmas morning. (Can you believe it’s even OPEN? I hope the people working that day are getting tipped REALLY well that day.)
As usual, this Denny’s serves greasy and inpexpensive breakfast fare that come in generous portions. The food was neither awful nor memorable, but it’s a good place to stretch your dollar and might be a decent alternative to cooking your own eggs in the morning if you don’t care about not using cage free brown eggs and organic unsalted butter or EVO once in a while.
If you have never heard of Denny’s (don’t worry, I had never walked into one before 2009), think eggs cooked the way you like it, bacon, and hash brown. NOT eggs benedict. (Unless you visit a Denny’s in Canada.) Oh, the Moons Over My Hammy sandwich (ham and scrambled egg with loads of cheese between two slices of sourdough bread) was kind of… not disgusting, and apparently 780 calories. (Share it with a skinny friend and reduce it to only 390 calories!)
The service was relatively fast and our server was attentive considering how crowded it was. She checked on us twice during our meal and refilled our waters.

I came in with a party of 5 there was no one in the front desk. After waiting for more then 10 mins party of 5 came in and got seated right away. We just left and went to black bear diner

The guy at the gate was a racist, didn’t allow people who were standing in queue but allowing all other special people inside. He didn’t care to look at the list for 30 mins. Even if somebody pays or these guys give everything for free, i am not coming back again. I dont know the name but got his pic; will post that shortly. Worst…
