Just tried to go during normal business hours and it was closed. Was excited to try out a place in my new neighborhood but I only have a limited amount of time so this was quite an inconvenience.

Got Lumpia? Tuesday/Thursday 6p to close Invited through friends to a pop up adventure in the city of Emeryville, only to find out that the owner actually owns the joint but was featuring his specialty Lumpia. For those who do not know what is a Lumpia? Filipino Lumpia is well known as an appetizer that resembles a egg roll but smaller. They’re made with a paper thin pastry wrapper and stuffed with finely ground pork, beef or minced carrots, and onions. Then rolled up and deep fried until golden brown. Now question is what makes The Lumpia company so special? Was it the way the chef himself mixing up the ingredients? or the way he rolled them? Well I can tell you this: it was his creative mind to come up with not your typical flavor. Being a Filipina, Lumpia is always served at parties and pretty much taste the same, but not in this case. What did he showcase? Handcrafted Lumpia *Bacon Cheeseburger w/cheddar cheese *Pizza w/salami, arugula asiago *Hot Pastrami w/swiss and pepperoni *Veggie w/mushroom, kale, sweet potato, garlic *Apple Pie diced apples, crumbled blondie bars, and brown sugar My first bite was amazing, with robust flavors. They all had the perfect crisp, not greasy, and savored every chomp! LOL Who would of ever thought of these concepts in one perfect little bite? Hands down, I was actually impressed. Yes I am a picky eater but I think the next time I come back, I want some pre-frozen one’s to take home. Follow them on IG «thelumpiacompany»

I am trying to wrap my head around Nicole G ‘s review and her racist rant about the television being on a spanish station for the world cup — and the«hispanic» worker — and«is this a mexican place. NO!» What the heck is wrong with her??? So DISGUSTING! Maybe she is off her meds? What a hater. Not a word about food. Perhaps a tv addict??? I always have the best service here, and the best food. I eat lunch here about twice a week, and the food is fantastic. I have never had a bad experience. I am very thankful I was not there the day Nicole was, if you know what I mean. This is a great, tasty, friendly and great service place.

E-22 catered an event for me on July 18 at Oakland City Hall. The food was really good and the guest cleaned it out within minutes. This café is very professional and they saved our event. I would recommend this spot to everyone.

E22 has the tastiest sandwiches in Emeryville. Their Giuseppe braised pork shoulder and meatball panini is my favorite. Food is good quality and service is good. This café is definitely a gem in Emeryville.

Yes! They have the World Cup! Great food, coffee, and super nice staff make this place a worthwhile visit, or regular spot for those of us that work nearby. I am a total(total, total) sandwich fan(read: «snob»), and their Campagnolo, Cuban, and Meatball are really good(perhaps the other offerings too but I can’t say because I just keep ordering the same three sandwiches over and over. They make me happy and I’m a simple man).

Always the same smiling service. The sandwiches are delicious as always. Sitting on the patio during happy hour for a $ 3.50 beer is always a treat. Chips are a dollar and they even sell bubble gum! The owner let me try some of their new empanadas today let’s just say yum!

I dined here just to grab a quick sandwich and coffee and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of their panini’s. I’ve had panini’s before but the quality of their sandwiches really stood out to me. The ingredients were fresh and didn’t taste like a regular deli. I’m not much of a coffee guy but since I was gonna be driving home I needed a quick jolt and their iced latte hit the spot! Customer service was great and got me in and out of there in no time. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Decided it was a good afternoon to get a cup of coffee and read the paper. I’m new to the neighborhood, so I thought I’d check out my local café. Service was lackluster(girl who took my order for coffee –yes, just coffee, seemed put off). Too bad they were BLASTING punk rock so loud that it was unbearable to sit there and enjoy myself. Hey guy and girl working– know your crowd/customer. It’s me and another guy with our heads buried in our mutual New York Times. Can you turn the music down… Or better yet OFF??? I would have asked them to turn it off, but they probably couldn’t have heard me. I’m all for music… Even loud music… If I’m at a bar or a concert. I’m in a café on a random Friday at 2pm. Why???

I’ve come back for the cubano pressed sandwich. Juicy slow roasted pork with ham, mustard, and a couple of sour pickle slices pressed between toasted bread makes for some simple but good eats. Haven’t tried too many of the other items but I’d like to eventually since it’s conveniently located within walking distance from my workplace.

Good meatball hero, but took a long time to come out, unsure if the meatballs had to be cooked first, or if there was some other hiccup(the delay wasn’t explained to me when I ordered – may have thought twice about it if I knew it took longer to prepare). However, the bread was warm and fresh, and the meatballs were all hot. A little warm in here and since it’s a small space, people are kind of crowded inside, but decent alternative to some of the other lunch spots in Emeryville.

E-22 Café has the BEST sandwiches hands-down in Emeryville! I work a block away from this place and I wish I discovered this place earlier! So far, I tried the Polpette Sandwich, which is a DELICIOUS Sicilian meatball sandwich that makes your taste buds go crazy. I also tried the Spicy Tuna Melt, which is also DELICIOUS! The sandwiches are around $ 8, which is a bit pricey. But hey, you should treat yourself out sometime and indulge in these AMAZING sandwiches! :) My recommendation is to get the mixed greens on the side. It’s a dollar more, but the vinegar and olive oil dressing on the mixed greens taste like heaven with any sandwich that you order. Make sure to check in on Unilocal and get a free drink with your meal! It’s always good to have a cold can of Blood Orange San Pellegrino beverage while digging into your meal! :)

I was in town for a conference, and met some friends there for brunch. If you’re looking for an intimate brunch spot, look no more! E-22 Café is everything you want and more! 1) bottomless mimosas: orange, pineapple, and passionfruit/guava are fantastic. 2) The chef is super nice, and kept bringing my group tasty treats to sample. 3) Because we were the only ones there, we stayed for hours catching up. Absolutely loved this place, and next time I am in town, I’m there!

There’s always some appetizing smell coming out of this place when I walk to work. I love the sandwichs here, the Panino Polpette is one of my favs. Edit: I just tried the Specialita di Giuseppe. It’s a nice and meaty sandwich. Taste-wise it has a lighter flavour than the polpette but the meat just falls apart in your mouth. Quite filling! Edit 2÷25÷2013: Had the tri mushroom lasagna half size + side salad for lunch. I was full and for both items it was almost $ 6 :) I’m happy –nice and tasty soup proportions –cute little seating area inside and out –Great service

If this place was near where I worked, let’s just say that I would be their #1 customer… I thought I’ve had good panini’s, but this place has been the best so far… The place is not so big, but it is cozy & quaint… when it comes to their food, it is big in flavor & character. When you take your first bite into that panini, your senses are aroused, and you feel like you are in the cafes of Italy. The flavors & textures go so well together, making the panini experience amazing!!! Hard to describe in writing, just have to experience it yourself. Take that first bite and fall in love with panini’s. Lunchtime won’t be the same again… hopefully, will be able to join Happy Hour sometime in the near future…

The sandwiches are delicious and brought to you by Angelo and Jerry of Trattoria La Siciliana in Berkeley. I have been there a few times in the past but went again two days ago with my wife. The sandwiches were fantastic. I had The Panino Polpette(Meatball Sandwich). Panino Polpette — I know Angelo and Jerry created this sandwich. Sometimes at their other restaurant they would have meatballs on the special menu and I would ask Angelo to make me a meatball sandwich. I have had many meatball sandwiches but the way he made it was a first. Instead of slicing the bread open they would take out the dough in the middle of the bread and stuff it with meatballs and sauce and cheese. This is very clever because the meatballs will not fall out of the side of the bread. It was delicious as usual. Panino Leggero — My wife ate this sandwich and I had a piece as well. Absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were heated up as well and this sandwich was an eggplant caponata on bread with mozzarella. My wife had a Capuccino which she said was delicious. Overall a flawless and fantastic lunch. Ther service was excellent and the waitstaff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Italian ham and cheese panino had nice contrast between perfectly pressed bread and that melty, smooth mix inside sandwich. Only thing, did not like tha bread too much… too«white» for me. The macchiato ordered had a crema so thick, wasnt even certain the espresso was beneath that cloud layer! illy served here. Easy to get to, along Powell/Stanford…v close to Summer Summer Thai. Few tables for al fresco, but the tremendous amount of car traffic def detracts from whatever there is, that so-called nonexistent ambiance. They also sell Semifreddi pastries at this site.

We came here for panninis. Hubby had their pork sandwich. I had the eggplant sandwich. Both sandwiches were huge and the bread was fresh and soft. For about ten dollars, you can get a great sandwich with a drink and salad/chips. They don’t carry the tuna sandwich anymore. That used to be my favorite. Service was fast and friendly and their miniature Italian cookies are the best. They look like hamburgers with chocolate in the middle and the buttery cookies are fragrant and crumbly. They are 50 cents each but well worth it despite the small size. It’s the size of a quarter. The space is small and I wish they would open the windows as it was pretty stuffy inside on a hot day. Otherwise, a great place for sandwiches!

This place was awesome! They had one of the best red blends we’ve had anywhere and the prices were phenomenal. The parking is a little rough right now due to some construction but the food and drinks are worth it!

E-22 is a cool place, and better than that. the vino list is to die for. The Illy coffee is sweet. I can’t wait till there is some kind of shift in the financial basis that maybe I can make this a regular hangout. I love the look of it. and its in the most unique street corner. I wish this café the very best. This place is cool without trendy because its good. its real. There is a certain love for the place that you can see those that work there. If you seek a neat place to just hang, or would like to discuss any ideas, with a small group, over a glass of wine. go in. its perfect for that.
