Four Points by Sheraton San Francisco Bay Bridge

We were fortunate enough to get a lucky break and take the very last room available for the night. We were road weary after a long journey and a broken down truck. The hospitality was amazing and the bed was so comfortable! Very clean rooms and free coffee and tea service in the morning.

Four Points hotel probably is the best hotel for customer service. Every morning there is complimentary coffee and tea. The front desk is so nice and helpful. They provide complimentary tolietries if you ask (mouthwash, razor, shaving cream, toothbrush/​paste, deodarant, etc). Everyday they greet you with a smile and ask what we would be doing for the day. They were helpful in letting us know about the complimentary shuttle and what to do in the area. The rooms are nice and spacious, shower has great water power, and there is wifi and parking. Four points is the hotel to stay at if you are visiting SF or bay area!

Grimy, weathered, small rooms, broken elevator, horrible lobby restroom. Picked this place largely for SPG points. My check in experience was plesant but that was about it.
The room was clean but smaller than I anticipated. It did have a fridge and microwave — not useful for a 1 night stay. But there was no place other than bed to stand up my suitcase. One of the elevators was out of service. It appears that they did renovations recently but the place was just scruffy.
The proximity to my client and expressway was good and at the end of the day none of the hotels in the immediate vicinity review that well.
With that I would probably give them another shot, if anything for the points.

It is very difficult to find a well-​located hotel in the bay area which is reasonably priced and not scary and has a parking lot. This one definitely fit that bill. The neighborhood and surroundings felt safe, the lobby was aesthetic, and some of the rooms have fantastic views of san francisco. I have lived in the bay area for 11 years and saw/​driven by the typical ‘value’ accommodations in this region; this hotel far exceeds the local norm, and is a great choice for a traveler looking for a pleasant experience at a good value.

I booked four rooms at this hotel for our travel youth wheelchair basketball team two weeks in advance with the assurance that the wheelchair accessible rooms had two double beds. I told them this was a must for our kids and staff. The sales rep… Andrea I believe, assured me over and over that they could meet our accommodations. Two hours before we were set to arrive, I get an email stating that they could not accommodate and that the rooms they promised over and over again, never existed at their hotel.
They only had one king bed in their accessible rooms. They offered to let us cancel free of charge. This would have been ok, but finding wheelchair accessible rooms is very difficult at the last minute. We ended up staying with the hotel, and they offered to give us roll in beds so we could accommodate our kids. I called back to complain to management that I felt the sales rep had been dishonest and to give such short notice that the hotel never had wheelchair accessible rooms with 2 double was poor business practices. The manager offered to give us one night free for each room for our trouble. I recieved receipts from them showing this discount, only to find out later that they lied about that too, and fully charged us.
To treat a program that serves children with disabilities this way is terrible. We will never do business with this hotel and will inform the other programs in the bay area who serve this population to take their business elsewhere.

Had a hotel snafu– on Super Bowl week of all weeks. I needed a room to check into at 6am and needed two nights and gladly they were able to accommodate. Most places would’ve charged that morning as a 3^rd but they could see I just needed to shower and get to a business meeting.
The customer service generally is great to include those delivering room service, or cleaning– they all say hello with a smile and say «sir» or «ma’am.»
The location is closer to two major highways and also near multiple shopping centers and places to eat. The Black Bear diner next door isn’t bad for breakfast. The hotel does have a breakfast stand where you can order regular breakfast if you didn’t want the fruit or muffins available.
So the hotel seems to have been renovated but you can see the «oldness» in some areas. But on talking little things– elevator buttons, room setup, etc. None of these him things detracted from the purpose of my stay– somewhere to do work and sleep at the end of the day.
No wifi issues.
The fitness center is tiny and has very limited equipment and is so stuffy and well… Rank. That should be addressed.
Overall– good stay.

For some reason this hotel won’t let you book a room for one night, in advance. I’m not sure how the other patrons were able to make reservations for one night, but maybe they were only able to do it through last minute reservations. In fact I was told that there was a four-​night minimum stay, which makes it really bad for people who know they will be transiting through the area for only a day or two. What a bad policy.

I checked in with a toddler with another couple and a toddler and had a horrible experience. When booking and prior to arriving I called three times to make sure that we had rooms side by side due to us having toddlers having so many items with little ones. When I checked in they told me two rooms were reserved next to each other and there was a note saying do not give away these rooms. When my guest checked in as I added their name to my reservation the gentleman stated they had given the room away by accident even after there was a note on the account not to and had to place them elsewhere. When asking what can be done because this was the main reason for booking for at this hotel, they stated sorry there is nothing we can do. I explained that we had toddlers and it is extremely difficult to travel to different rooms with little ones. We decided to bring in the new year with all of us gathering in one room in which we then received a knock on the door on two different occasions from
Security stating that we were too loud and that there were two pilots next door that were trying to sleep. I explained to security that next door was supposed to be our room originally, that was why we booked next to each other, why would you put pilots next to a family with toddlers and lastly the front desk manager Cecelia was rude from the beginning and didn’t care that we had been inconvenienced from the beginning. After calling corporate the next morning they stated that all they could offer was points because the hotel staff was unwilling to do anything about it based on having to comp the pilots. First it was New Years Eve, you inconvenienced us from the beginning and lastly embarrassed us by sending security for something that could have been avoided if you had not given our room away next door. Lastly, really how much noise can 2 year olds make that where it was that much of an issue. And to add insult to injury when we came to check out this morning there was a big sign that wasn’t posted that stated No Party’s which wasn’t there when we checked in even though we weren’t having a party. I was not happy with my overall stay and the fact that it was a waste of money because we all made certain accommodations for a reason. I’m not sure if I will ever stay this hotel ever again!

This hotel is in a great location surrounded by a shopping center. While it is not the nicest Sheraton I have ever stayed at, I think the location makes up for it. And the front desk was very nice and accommodating. They helped us pack a box of wine that we picked up at Sonoma, so that we could check it as baggage on the plane.
The room was very clean, and I really have no complaints about anything. I only stayed for a night before an early flight, and this place was perfectly fine for that.

Great location, very small parking lot shared with a diner. The lobby has been renovated, and the floors with sleeping rooms have new carpet. Bathrooms in the rooms are to small. There are hidden outlets near the bed on the side of the night stand. Otherwise few outlets. Being so near the highway it is a quiet property. The meeting rooms have low ceilings and old furnishings with average lighting. The workout room is tiny and barely enough room to move around, 5 pieces of cardio. The staff is average at best, only 1 member of the front desk team has a clue. The shopping is in walking distance, which is a great plus for restaurants and other options for things to do. Common areas are clean but in need of a complete renovation. This property could be so much more, the prices were very good and it is only a 10 min Driving Now, more later from downtown Oakland with minimal impact from rush hour traffic

No complaints at all. Plenty of free parking.
During check-​in the staff was so friendly. They were very thorough, offered us local food and shopping options and even walked us to the elevator.
The room was excellent. Clean. Fridge and microwave provided. They offered two bottles of free water and replaced as we used them. They provided us with extra towels and pillows as requested.
Nice workspace in room.
I would stay here again without hesitation.

We had a wonderful check in experience! Even though there was a line, every one at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The line moved quickly and we were really impressed by Elsie’s positive attitude and lovely smile.

They were late with check in. They require an incidental credit card and they place a hold charge on it, even if your stay is on a company card. Restaurant closed.
F for Rudeness

Easily my worst Starwood experience yet. I won’t be back. Chose this location because it was 8 miles from a large annual conference in downtown SF. Because of constant congestion on the Bay Bridge it took an hour to get from the hotel to downtown each day of a week long conference and the same returning to the hotel each day.
The room was dirty, spider webs in the corners, parts of the ceiling cracked and falling, stains on the carpet, ceiling, and furniture, faucet was leaky, constant noise from freeway made it impossible to sleep, etc. I honestly could expand to the point where you would simply lose interest and this would sound more like a rant than a review.
Two stars instead of just one because the staff was courteous and professional when dealing with complaints (I think they’ve had practice).
$ 260 per night for Super 8 accommodations, no thank you.

I booked this hotel using PriceLine Express Deals, so I didn’t know where I’d be staying until after booking the room.
My boyfriend and I arrived in the early evening. We were both pleasantly surprised at the wonderful customer service we received from Cecile at the front desk. She greeted us warmly and chatted with us while completing the check-​in process, making sure that we were aware of meal times, checkout times, and other hotel policies. Afterward she came around the counter to present us with our room keys, and personally showed us to the elevator.
We both travel for a living. It’s extremely rare to come across such a high level of customer service and professionalism at the three-​star-​and-​below hotel level. Cecile’s extra effort alone made our stay worthwhile, because we knew that should anything be amiss in our room, we’d be in good hands to set things right. Thank you very much, Cecile!
As it turned out, the room was great. All of the fixtures seemed modern and new (there IS an Ikea right down the street from this hotel haha). The nightstands even had USB chargers built in, a convenience that I wish all hotels had.
The room and the bathroom were exceptionally clean. See my picture of the bathroom wall. The bathroom was completely stark white with a very bright fluorescent bulb, so if there had been any dirt left by other travelers it would have been very visible. It was practically sterile in there!
I didn’t get breakfast at the hotel, but I imagine it’s fine.
We enjoyed breakfast at the Black Bear Diner right next to this hotel. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the area. That said, a lot of outside noise (traffic and construction) did filter into our room. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.
Two things that were a little less than awesome:
— the wifi was slow, and it also kept booting me off.
— the bathroom, while completely clean and functional, is very small. If you are a larger person you may feel uncomfortable in there.
Overall we had a great stay and would definitely return. Thank you!

I’m sorry for those who had a bad experience with them.
I booked 3-​nights for my brother who came to visit me.
Since I read many reviews complaining about overbooking, I called them in advance and made sure my reservation for my brother was confirmed.
Friendly and polite staffs, clean and large room, good rate, convenient location.

Great hotel! I stayed for 2 nights and it was very nice and quiet. I liked how the hotel had a gym and although it was quite small, I got a small workout in for the weekend. There are many shops around the area so grabbing a snack is easy.
If you are planning to visit the Bay area and driving isn’t an issue then I recommend it. Also, Pixar studios is not so far away for the Disney fan who wants to sight see (:

The service at this hotel was the worst I’ve ever experienced. First, they over booked our two rooms after my family drove 7 hours to get here. They promised two rooms would be ready the next night. When we came back they only had one of the rooms available and the attitudes during check in were horrendous.
The women at the reception desk acted like everything was a burden for them. They were rude and entirely disrespectful. One even commented «I was supposed to be off today.»
We had an issue with the cable in our room and called the front desk to ask about it. They first said it wasn’t possible to fix but then called back and said it was repaired. Then asked «happy now?!» as though such basic hotel services were too much to ask for.
It’s safe to say we will never stay at this hotel again. If we could give 0 stars we would.

BEWARE: frequent car break-​ins at the four points Black Bear Diner right next door. I live nearby and walk my dog their daily, there’s at least three different sites every week where you could see broken glass. Do not park there! Management has refused to do anything about it for the last few years and the problem has only gotten worse. Only their patrons suffer.

This hotel is located in Emeryville before the San Francisco Bay Bridge. Paid parking is available in the small lot.
Staff was slow but friendly. Room was cozy, comfortable. Bathroom and room décor modern. Stocked and mostly clean was the room. I say mostly clean because we ended up finding a condom wrapper in the room. Brought the issue to management since the visit. Not sure if I will visit soon.
Room temperature was okay. The bathroom was in okay condition. Hotel billing and check out procedures were accurate and efficient. Well priced competitively was this hotel stay.
Overall a decent experience with nothing remarkable to help the rating. Just two stars due to cleanliness. I might try again. Haven’t been to another four points since.
