The extra star is for the very nice woman who runs this shop.
I really like this little corner market which is really more in Oakland than Emeryville despite the address. It is more inviting than most Bay Area African markets.
There’s not a large selection but all the basics are there. A few wicker baskets hold root veggies like yams and there are fresh hot peppers for sale. There’s a freezer case of frozen fish and other African staples.
There are some items there that I haven’t noticed and the owner mentioned they also carry Ethiopean spices.
