I went here on a field trip with a ecology and conservation biology class from Sierra College last October and it’s a really beautiful place to visit. It has restrooms and nice picnic areas. I loved that it wasn’t crowded.

Great stop on the way from Reno to Sac.
I like this place because it’s not as crowed as the other pit stops along 80. It does have two restrooms, and the Truckee river runs through it. Which I have seen locals stop and pan for gold, I don’t know if they have found any but it looked like fun for the family. Plus, the river is slow going through here so my dog loves to swim and it would be a great place for anyone to jump in and cool off from the long car ride.
There isn’t a lot of parking so it could be a hit or miss on how crowded it could be. And there is a few picnic tables to sit and have lunch. I also saw small fish in the water, so I am sure fishing would also be great.
