I have been camping at Round Spring Campground and renting canoes from Carr’s every year for the past 12 years. They carry all of the basics that you might forget. I have never had an issue. I will continue to do business with them.

Carr’s is the kind of business that’s not particularly Unilocal-friendly. You can’t check in and it takes an attentive person to save pictures to upload later. The fact that it’s located outside of most mobile carriers’ reach is both a plus(as far as getting away from it all) and a minus(without web service, it’s obviously not getting a lot of attention on here). What it comes down to though is that Carr’s provides a great, localized service to those looking to get away from their routines and enjoy a reasonably-priced excursion onto the river. Reservations are made the old-fashioned way: via phone or email. Prices, package details and information on the different trip length options are posted online(and accurate, as far as I can tell). Everything that was spelled out ahead of time, I found on the morning of my group’s trip: no hidden fees(or taxes previously omitted), no extra charges for pickup/dropoff, no service charges, no itemized equipment charges for paddles, life vests, trash bags, etc. A simple, smooth transaction is as good as it gets when you’re just trying to canoe a few miles. Notes: *If you’re camping at Round Spring, Carr’s has a bus that will come around to pick you up on the morning of your trip. Call ahead to designate a time for this pickup and have your campsite number ready. *There’s more than one location and I suspect that the address given here is for a central business location. One of the outlets is at Pulltite and there’s another at Round Spring. Both have some parking/staging grounds available and other facilities available. *The Round Spring store had really decent prices on supplies considering that they were the only proper shop for several miles. Ice went for $ 2.25/bag(compared with $ 1.99/bag in Eminence). Firewood was selling at the local rate of $ 5/bundle(«local» according to numerous homemade signs for pop-up businesses along Highway 19). About the only«high» items were the candy bars by the counter, and even then, $ 0.95 isn’t wholly unconscionable. Beer(basic AB-family), soda, Jiffy Pop, watertight cases from Outdoor Products, water shoes and floppy hats were also available.
