Good food and server really nice. We had omelettes, hashbrowns, and biscuits. Hashbrowns were perfect, not greasy. Coffee is good too. They just added more room so better chance of being seated right away.

The best family style restaurant around. Fast, friendly service and great home style food. The American food and breakfast are their best menu choices. Daily specials too! If you’re around North East Texas stop by Sidekicks!!!

This is Hometown Texas at its best. There were three of us and all had the Chicken Fried Steak with threes side, this steak did not come out of a box, it was WONDERFUL and so were the sides. The staff was great. The only problem is that it’s in East Texas and not in the DFW area.

The first time we ate here it was very good. However the past two times we came the food was terrible and to top it off the delivery of the food was absurd. We ordered their supposed award winning chicken fried steaks and the waitress piled the bowl of gravy right in the middle atop the steaks. The bowls sweated and saturated the steaks with water! I guess she was too lazy to make two trips to the table! The second trip anyone can have a bad night. The third trip was just stupid. We won’t be back!

Damn! I just stopped in for lunch. I had a person with me from Madrid Spain – we both got the double burger, with bacon, onion rings, the works! That is a lot of food! It was excellent.!!

This place used to be very good last year gone down hill. Tables have greasy liquid butter for your dry stale toast and the eggs look like they came from miniature chickens(small). Omelette’s are good but that’s about it. Not worth the money. i will say the staff is great but it i go for there for good food and service but in the end the food beings you back. Other better breakfast places in emory and alba i would recommend first.

Eh, I wish I could rave about the food, but it’s nothing to write home about. If you’re hungry, close by and the place is open, I’d say give it a try.

Fried catfish was very tasty — highly recommend The atmosphere has the country feel for your mom/pop home feel to it. A bit bright for the affect tho. Not quite there for the full feel it is intended for. The service seems below for the what you would think you get in home country feel place this was trying to represent. Priced about right for the dinner. The 4 piece catfish comes with real potato fries,(yum always real is best). Side of pinto beans — not so much plenty plain and you get a plate of lettuce(iceberg) couple cherry tomatoes and sprinkled cheese– oh and you do get crackers to come with. Meaning I’m not impressed with this. Oh almost forgot you do get a small chunk of an onion. And what’s with the hush puppies? So improve on the side items gladly pay that price. Otherwise I much rather only pay for the fish & fries combo. Location is good for the area. Nice job fixing up the place from what it used to be years ago. My partner was not impressed by the burger — she said tasted just like a fast food burger in which are not very tasty.

Average diner food. Chicken Fried Steak was very bland and the gravy had no flavor at all. Baked potato looked like it had been in the warmer for two days. My wife had the chicken with cheese onions peppers and mushrooms. The chicken was not seasoned at all. The green peppers were not cooked at all and once the cheese/onions/mushrooms were gone the chicken wasn’t worth eating. Service was good and the people were friendly but I won’t be back.

Wow! I really enjoy eating here! Whether it is for breakfast or dinner! Their service is great! You are greeted each time you come through the door! Their portions are good sized and trust me that is a great thing! If you like catfish try thiers. It is buttery, light and it doesn’t taste greasy or heavy! And their coleslaw is awesome… If you go for breakfast you have to try their biscuits! Try it you won’t be disappointed…

Very good small town diner food. Everything made from scratch. There hamburgers and onion rings are some of the best I’ve had. They do a really good job on chicken fried steak as well. Everyone raves about their fried catfish and I can vouch for that as well. I have also eaten here for breakfast and had just the standard eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. All very good. My sons favorite is the French toast there is no out of the ordinary signature dish, that’s know of. Just good old fashioned cooking. The dining area is clean with lots of old fashioned pictures and decorations. The servers are very friendly and the cookware fast.

New name, new owners but the same great servers and even better food! Homemade onion rings are fab and breakfast is served all day… a rarity out in these parts.

Outstanding food for a remarkable price! My parents, husband, and I stopped here on our way to Arkansas from the Palestine area. My mom had the daily special– catfish, home fries, coleslaw, hushpuppies, and a drink. My dad and I had a chicken fried steak sandwich with home fries and curly fries. My husband had a Philly cheese steak wrap which was amazing. I have never seen this as a wrap before. All this for only $ 23.75! We had just paid $ 16 for lemonade at Canton, so this was a steal! I recommend this to anyone in the area!

I sure am glad I wore my stretchy pants for my meal at Chubby’s. Make no mistake, the name is intended quite literally. The food is greasy, heavy, and awesome. If you fear starch, carbs, and all things fried, stay away. I am honored to be the first Unilocaler to review Chubby’s Diner. CHICKENFRIEDSTEAK: 4 stars. Perfectly breaded and fried. The meat was surprisingly tender, considering many fried steaks become tough. The gravy was better than many places, but for 5 stars I need a gravy that will make me want to dip everything in it and then lick the plate clean. ONIONRINGS: 5 stars. Thick slices, perfectly battered and fried. I wish I had room to finish all of them. Huge serving! CURLYFRIES: 5 stars. The reason I couldn’t finish the onion rings. It was difficult splitting my attention between two such demanding sides. They were perfectly seasoned and fried. BACONCHEESEBURGER: 3 stars. I only had a bite but it was pretty good. I like my burgers a little juicier and less done, but still a solid sandwich. CHICKENFRIEDCHICKEN: 4 stars. If you prefer chicken over steak you won’t be disappointed. I prefer the steak, but to each his own. SALAD: 3 stars. Standard iceberg house salad with tomatoes and cheese. FINALTHOUGHTS: In a 1000 population town, Chubby’s provides good eats with the experience and care that only a small town can offer. If you want belt busting portions for under $ 10, this is the place. I don’t know when I’ll ever be passing through Emory again, but when I do, I’ll be sure to stop at Chubby’s.
