Blu August Salon

Followed my hair stylist Marissa there when she moved salons. Absolutely adore this salon, very cozy and you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Marissa is one of the nicest/​outgoing stylists I have ever met, I have been going to her for a few years and I will continue to go to her! She listens to you and takes the time to cut/​color your hair exactly how you want it. I am always so pleased with my hair when she is done! She is truly the best. I definitely would recommend her to anyone!

Today I made appointment with Teresa Koecher to get a make over. It has been 8 months since I got my hair done. Needless to say there was a lot of work to be done. Teresa met the challenge and today I have a whole new look for fall. The salon is so cute and quaint. Thanks to Teresa today I have a new look that I love.

I went in with a Groupon for a discounted shampoo, blow-​dry, cut, and style. My stylist was Erin and, let me tell you, she gave me the best salon and hair cutting experience I’ve ever had! I had no idea what I wanted so she was very thorough with the questions she asked me about how I wanted my hair cut. I seriously have never had someone capture exactly what I wanted done without me giving any direction. She is the ONLY, and I mean ONLY, stylist that has ever understood and executed (with perfection) the big, beautiful beach curls that I’ve always wanted! Plus the salon is adorable! Such a great vibe! I highly recommend Blu August if you’re looking for a truly custom and wonderful experience.

Misty is AMAZING!!! Took my daughter to see her yesterday for Yoku Hair Straightening and all I can say is WOW! She transformed my daughter’s lion’s mane into BEAUTIFUL straight hair that we can actually run our fingers through! Misty was so awesome that the time to process just floated by leaving us smiling and laughing and having a great time! And the salon is too cute! Even the other stylists in the salon were engaged with us which made the experience even more fun! I’m not going to lie, the process is expensive but worth every penny! My daughter woke up this morning with straight hair and we didn’t have to fuss, flat iron or anything!!! She was smiling from ear to ear! Thank you Misty for your AMAZING talent… we’ll DEFINITELY be back!!!

bought a groupon and was blessed to have Erin cut and color my hair. So many complements, even my husband noticed, we’ve been married 24 yrs and never really noticed or commented before. Great job, love you Erin.

Erin cut my hair a few weeks ago and it was an all around great experience! I would definitely recommend her. I went in for a trim and expected to feel that tiny bit of sadness seeing some of the length go… but Erin did such a great job with it that I left feeling like it felt longer, more stylish, and healthy! Couldn’t have asked for a better hair cut.

I have been getting my hair done by Marisa for a couple of years now and I always love my results. She’s very open and understanding to what you would like to have done! Always asks throughout the appointment your take on what she’s doing. Her techniques are great as his her conversation. Highly recommend coming in and making an appointment to see her.

I bought a groupon and then made an appointment with Erin. She was super nice and friendly and even started on my hair early since I arrived early which was great. I ended up cutting off 5 inches and she did a fantastic cut. Exactly what I wanted! I also wanted to get a balayage and showed her a picture of how I wanted it to look but then end result didn’t look that much different than my original color which was disappointing. She claimed that it was just the lighting and that’s why some of the highlights weren’t that noticeable but in all honesty it doesn’t look much different. I’ll probably end up going to a different salon to get a better balayage.

Today I got carded at Trader Joes for buying cooking Sherry. Haha. Thank you Lindsay for putting this rich luscious chocolate brown color. Not only do I look 10 years younger, but I feel it too!

I bought this haircut through Groupon. Here are the things I liked: the salon is very clean and inviting, the swing outside is also amazing. What I didn’t like is that after rescheduling with me 3 times, I came at 12 pm, as scheduled, and Misty was in the middle of applying color to another woman. So I had to wait. Also, the advertised «scull massage» wasn’t really a massage. She simply applied a conditioner on my hair and said it was a massage. And lastly, I am not really thrilled with the cut. It’s ok, I can live with it, but I don’t feel it truly brought my curls out.

LOVE this place! We are new in town and I tried Blu August with a Groupon. Lindsey did wonders for my thick, curly, grayling hair! She is so sweet and really good with naturally curly hair as well as color. I can’t wait to go back. I know I will be well taken care of. Beautiful salon with a great little garden area in back :)

I came here on a Groupon deal – I was suppose to see Misty but since she was booked I had the pleasure of having Erin do my hair. The salon is fairly small but super cute! I loved the little sitting area and the décor. They offered beverages as well which is cool. I came in for a wash, cut, and style and Erin did a great job on my hair. She asked me tons of questions to get a better idea of what I wanted. She didn’t get scissor happy or anything, I know that’s always a big concern. She did a beautiful blow dry and left me feeling brand new. I highly recommend this salon and Erin!

After purchasing a Groupon deal, I contacted Misty to make an appointment. I’m your typical last minute type of gal, so she gave me Erin’s number who had an opening. I was disappointed at first because of Misty’s rave reviews on Unilocal,but was not disappointed after meeting Erin.
This salon is quaint, small and intimate. It almost feels like you’re at your friends house getting your hair done. It’s relaxing and not overwhelming, like most salons are.
Erin has given me highlights twice now and I have loved them! She’s very warm and welcoming. You know how stylists ask you about your entire life history while you’re sitting there captive? Not Erin! It’s actual conversation, not an inquisition! Got hair? Go see Erin!

Erin at Blu August just rescued my hair from a very terrible highlighting job done at a beauty school (I know– what was I thinking!!) Not only did she fix the problem, but she gave me an absolutely gorgeous haircut and highlights… and not only that… since I was freaking out and could not be seen in public– she was able to come in on short notice and saved the day! She is super nice and friendly, the salon is adorable and I am definitely, for sure, going to be a return customer!

I have found my new hairstylist!!! Im very very careful when it comes to my hair i cant just trust anyone that calls themselves a hair stylist… Anyways i found Blu August Salon on Unilocal and decided to give them a try because they are so close to where I live. I booked an appointment with Misty and omg!!! Im so so so happy!!! Im very conservative with my hair I like it really long but Misty gave me her opinion on how much at least should be taken off and i was ok with it. I appreciated her hearing me out and not taking initiative and doing what she wanted. When she finished cutting and blow drying it still looked long and she had taken 2in off! I got long layers as well and straight cut bangs and i feel so pretty again!!! Cant wait to book my next appointment and possibly talk about dying my hair doing something totally different if so i know who to trust! Thanks again Misty!

I purchased a Groupon for a haircut and had an appointment with Lindsey. I’ve been moving around from stylist to stylist since moving here, but now I’ve found my go-​to! Lindsey was great. The salon is adorable — a cute little cottage on the 101. Lindsey listened to how I style my hair, and cut it to match what I wanted. Really nice ladies there at Blu August, and I would definitely recommend.

I just had to write and update I’ve had wavy hair my whole life not straight and not curly so I was never happy! I could never get it super straight even when I spent hours and I could not get perfect curls either. Misty was so knowledgeable and told me yuko straightening would be perfect for me of course I had to do research and finally took her advise! WOW is all I can say I wear straight hair everyday now and it takes me less than 15 min and no product just a blow dryer with an attachment ! My hair has never looked so good it looks thin which I love cuz I have 2 heads of hair perfect for anyone with hair like me. Don’t waste ur money on keratins go with yuko so worth the $$ and I only trust misty:) thank you so much I will tell everyone as I got compliments so many the very next day.
Ps make sure u follow directions the first 3 days so u get best results I follow things and mine turned out perfect!

I originally heard about this salon from my boyfriend, who loved the fact that he could get a beer at 10 am while he got his hair cut. He raved about the service and the owner.
When the salon had an offer come up on groupon, I decided to buy it. I had been wanting to get my hair cut for a while, and my hairdresser had moved. So I figured I had nothing to lose, right? (well, except several inches of hair)
Because of the rush the groupon created, I had a hard time getting an appointment as quickly as I wanted. Definitely my fault for not being more proactive, and once I got things nailed down, Misty was great about keeping me in the loop if she had any cancellations or openings.
I went in ready for a drastic change. I have very thick hair, and when I was going in for a cut, it was incredibly long. I had decided to donate my hair to Locks of Love and Misty was great in helping me prepare myself for that. I cut off a total of 11 inches and I could not be happier with the results.
Misty could tell I was nervous (I hadn’t had a drastic haircut in almost 10 years), but she definitely made me feel at ease. We put my hair in a braid and lopped it off! The cute A-​line bob was exactly what I wanted.
I had a great experience at this salon and I cannot wait to go back.

I am preggo and had a maternity shoot on a Sunday. I saw the Groupon for this location and called to see if I could get an appointment on a Sunday. I found out you have to text to ask for an appointment which seems to be a trend in hair salons. I texted and got a reply in a about 10 min. The owner texted to let me know know they are closed on Sundays. I kept looking and could not find anyone else open. About 10 min later Misty texted me again saying that she would be willing to come in on a Sunday. I was VERY thankful! I warned her that I wanted color, highlights, a cut and a style for my shoot. I have long thick hair and normally it takes at least 3 – 4 hours to get this done. She insisted she could do it in 2 hours. I told her a trusted her and came in.
Misty was amazing. She got all that done in 2 hours and 5 min. I was VERY impressed. She also let me get ready for my shoot there which was very nice. I highly recommend seeing Misty. She is great!
I had the $ 69 Groupon package but I wanted extra things and I have long thick hair so it was an extra $ 65. It was still a very good price for a great cut and hair color.
