First time here and it was amazing. Everything was fresh and looked great too. Mikayla was extremely helpful at the register:)

They are always so nice here and the bread is so good. We get a sourdough loaf and make grilled cheese with it, it is the perfect bread for it. Or we will get the bread bowls and out some homemade soup in them. They always give our daughter an animal bread, needless to say, one happy customer.

Our service here was amazing. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by a lovely and personable employee named Meghan. She is what good service is all about. I was very impressed! I ordered my personal favorite, the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. It is delicious, and we received our food in a timely manner. We will surely be going back to this location because of the friendly and fast service. Also, while we were waiting for our food, we were offered complementary drinks.

I got a tomato soup, caesar salad, and grilled cheese combo. It was by far, the greatest meal I’ve had here ever. I definitely recommend it. I recommend that you choose your favorite soup and salad to suit your taste. The perfect meal for a rainy day.

Was excited to try this out with my family because prices were reasonable and heard great things about the chowder. We ordered the chili, clam chowder and original burger. The chili tasted suspiciously like it was out of a can… nothing very remarkable. I thought the clam chowder was lacking clams and a certain punch. My son thought the buger was okay, but said it was mostly bread. The ½ off wine and beer was great, but overall, the experience was meh. Felt like a cafeteria.

I wondered if this place closed temporarily because for a few months earlier this year it seemed like i never saw a single person in the place or on the patio and not sure the lights were even on. So its Boudin, so you pay a little extra for it. Sandwiches are not huge considering the $ 9 average price but good and well made. The bread is of course great. The parking lot here is ridiculously narrow and needs to eliminate one row at least so if in a big Suv be prepared to struggle for a spot to fit into… but that isnt Boudins fault obviously.

A friend and I went to dinner here on a Thursday night. The restaurant was pretty empty, so we received our food quickly. I got a bowl of clam chowder and the mixed greens salad. Both were good! My friend loved her grilled cheese sandwich. I think I prefer coming here for lunch, but overall a good experience!

I’ve been to Boudin once long ago and I have obviously forgot just how much I love it. We came here last weekend on a hot rainy day, basically just looking for a bite with some air conditioning. The restaurant was practically empty but we were fine with that– just meant faster service! I ordered the Chicken Kale Caesar salad with a bowl of clam chowder soup. TODIEFOR! The salad was amazing!!! The soup was of course a favorite, but with the sourdough bread dipped in just completed it. The service was very friendly. The woman working the counter came over to Our table and complimented our baby. She was super sweet. That’s what we love about going out to eat. The restaurant was very clean and well put together. Everything was fully stocked, and the employees kept asking if we needed anything. Everything was perfect. We will be back.

Do you have a carb craving? This is definitely your spot to go. They have amazing sourdough here and it will definitely satisfy your carb craving. It kind of reminds me of Panera Bread, but SF style. The store is large with a lot of tables, booths and outdoor seating that is shaded. They have menus when you walk in so you can sit and decide what you want. They also have the typical menu behind the register if you are quick to make decisions. Customer service is great here. The staff all had smiles on their faces and definitely seemed like they work well together and were having fun. I ordered the Clam Chowder Soup in a bread bowl as well as a half Chicken Pesto Sandwich. Everything I had was amazing. The bread tasted fresh and was very moist which went perfectly with the creamy clam chowder that had small potato chunks in it. This meal was the perfect size and it filled me up for a large portion of the day. They have soup/sandwich, soup/salad, and salad/sandwich combos. The menu is easy to read and has calories next to each item. They have some sweets as well. Coke products for drinks as well as coffee and tea. Price is reasonable for the amount of food you get. Parking lot is large and we had no problem parking on a Sunday afternoon. No real line once we got inside either.

Walked in, went to front, looked around, i was almost invisible, stared at the menu, waiting about 4 minutes, still invisible, so walked around the front area until I was no longer invisible, ordered the chicken pesto sando and it was OK. The bread was very tough, not soft at all and the pesto mayo was way too runny but the chicken was really good!!! It ws 4 stars chicken! :D Also had some chips and didn’t realize how great a deal it was to add chips, I think the chips cost like 50 cents or something so it worked out. They were fairly quick with it and I was happy for that cuz I had to catch a bus about 20 minutes after I ordered. I’m not sure if I’ll check this spot out again though.

Meghan the cashier is absolutely amazing!!! She really knows how to show customer service! She was very cheerful and helpful and made our dinner night enjoyable. It really is the small little things that make a difference. The store was clean and has a good atmosphere. We had to wait for the soup to be ready and it took about 20min but she made sure to tend to us as we waited and gave us some cookies :) great service!

Great place for a quick salad, bowl of soup or chili and much more. Inside and outside dining always fast and friendly service. Their bread is amazing as you can imagine since this is what they are most known for. $ 9.29 gets you a soup and salad combo(my fav).

Came to this location for an early lunch. We arrive here around 10:30 am. There were only a few people inside and plenty of seating. We were greeted a friendly Hello as we walk in the door. I get my usual which is a grilled cheese with chips. I also get a Sprite zero to drink. The guy at the register was so friendly and made brief conversation with us. He gives us a number and we sit at a table. We received our food in about 10 minutes. My grilled cheese had a great crunch and there was plenty of cheese in the middle. I got to try the chips. It was also crunchy and not too salty. Great food! The service here was excellent! I have been to numerous locations for Boudin SF, but this location tops high with the Fashion Valley location. The employees here are more friendly and greeted us as we walked in. The place was also clean and plenty of parking was available in front. This location is great! If I am in the area, I will be back! As we left, the lady told us to Have a nice day! I told her you too! Awesome customer service. I wish I could see the same at other locations!

I love this place. For fast casual, it’s as good as it gets. For take out — yeah, probably even better. The food is amazingly good, which makes sense because sandwiches depend on great bread. The clam chowder is total crowd pleaser, but all of their other soups have been winners as well. I’m not a huge fan of their cookies and other baked goods, but I probably didn’t need the extra carbs anyway. Service has been spot-on EVERYSINGLETIME without fail. How could anyone ever go to a Panera again?

Boudin was a pleasant surprise. I stopped in for dinner the other night with my kids. The dining area is clean and relaxing. The service was friendly and attentive. I had modest expectations about the food since it is counter service but considering the food was good. I had a grilled cheese with a cup of tomato soup. The grilled cheese was tasty and had the right kind of grilled crispness. The soup was nice as well with a hint of tartness that I expect from a good fresh tomato. I love their sourdough bread and want to come back to get a loaf for home.

Had a bad experience at the San Marcos location and so the company invited me to come back, which was very nice of them. I chose this new location. I truly don’t understand how anyone can think highly of Boudin. The food is average and the prices are well above average. This time, we ordered a butternut squash soup and two seasonal turkey on stuffing sandwiches. I just don’t understand the hype: it’s just very basic turkey and dijon mustard on so much bread that makes it very dry. The portion is smaller than average, and the total was $ 23 for the two sandwiches and the soup. You get a choice of a «salad» or chips. The«salad» is just lettuce! There is nothing else. FYI: That’s called lettuce, not salad. You can upgrade it to a caesar salad, which is an actual salad, but you have to pay more. The chips were really bland and awful. The soup is very good, but $ 7.69 for a small bowl? There is a lot of excellent soups for much more competitive pricing. No offense, but, who do you think you are Boudin? I wouldn’t mind dropping more money on higher quality food. But most of their sandwiches can easily be made at home for a quarter of the cost.

Holy crap, what a letdown this place was! You expect a restaurant that is so famous for one particular thing, that builds a menu around that one particular thing, be capable of making a dish that is tasty out of that one particular thing. And you’d be wrong. I love soup bread bowls. Been to a couple of places that serve ‘em, always been, at the very least, very satisfied with what I get, and typically chow down most, if not all, of the bowl itself. When I got to Boudin’s, I was very excited to get some Clam Chowder in a round of their famous sourdough with half of a Turkey with Cranberry Dressing sandwich alongside. The bowl itself was gorgeously baked, nice brown crust with a firm texture and softly warm sourdough inside. The chowder, of which they have can after can after can lining the walls in decoration, was one of the worst I have ever had. That fishy taste that tells you no one bothered to check the freshness of the clams before NOT washing them was highly prevalent and I got a big grain of sand twice in the first few bites. Even a few dashes of pepper couldn’t save the flavor. About the only saving grace was the cut and softness of the potatoes. As for the sandwich, the turkey was juicy and fresh, the red onion crisp, and the dressing pretty good, but the mayo that was slathered on one side of the bread conflicted with the whole of it. I guess I’m used to this kind of sandwich subbing in gravy or just letting the cranberry sauce keep everything moist, but the mayo was a tad off-putting. That and the hard crust, while great on the bread bowl, made the sammich tough to eat. My love had the French Dip with a side salad. The side salad was bland and boring, lettuce and a vinaigrette in a ramekin; «a waste of space,» as she described it. On the French Dip, the meat was pretty standard, juicy and fresh, but not much of that roasted beef flavor you really want. But her dipping juice she did rave about, saying that it covered up a lot of what the sammich was lacking, making her meal almost passable. My mother had a Tuna Sandwich with a bowl of Tomato Bisque. She liked the bisque, though I found it a bit bland, more salt than cream, and little in the way of seasoning. Her tuna sandwich was nothing to write home about, just a simple tuna sandwich; not horrible, but not that good either. Which brings me to my son’s kid meal. He had the kid’s menu Turkey Sandwich which came with juice and a cookie. His sandwich came plain, hard crusted bread and the turkey as before; there was nothing to make it anymore interesting than plain, nothing sweet to entice a kid to eat it, no mayonnaise to make things moist, no veggies for nutrition, just a hard crust that a 20-month old couldn’t stand to chew. I can not imagine any child other than one who has been slaving away in a Dickensian sweatshop to have any interest in eating this sandwich. My own agreed, preferring the soft bread from my bread bowl, crust removed, with a few spoonfuls of his grandma’s bisque. About the only positive things I can really say about Boudin’s is that they did have excellent service. Their sourdough? Eh, it’s better than average, but I still prefer the bowls at Disneyland … most likely because the soup in the Magic Kingdom is miles ahead in taste. At the start, I liked the decoration of the place; though, after dinner, I quickly found every can of that damned chowder to be mocking me. And that’s about it! Disappointing food, disappointing food, nice service, disappointing food. Right now, they seem to be coasting on reputation and franchise recognition. But, with only two tables filled when we arrived after 5:00pm on a Saturday night(and only about 3 other customers coming during the 45 minutes we were there) … I’m not sure if that wave is gonna last much longer.

I did not know that Boudin served breakfast too, and being the curious person I am, I figured I give a try. I ordered the breakfast sausage, tomato, and provolone cheese omelet with a side of their signature wedge potatoes and some multi-grain toast for well under $ 10( ). If I remember correctly it was only $ 7 and some change. The scramble was good, but I can’t help to feel that the sausage was very simple and sort of generic. It needed a better develop flavor. Don’t get me wrong it was good for the price, but it just did not wow me. The eggs were well scrambled and seasoned and the tomatoes were good. I love cheese on my scrambles and I thought this one needed a lot more of it to make me a big fan of it( ). The wedge potatoes were very good with a nice crispy exterior and aggressive seasoning.( ). Very good potatoes and I would order these again. The toast was lightly toast and I liked its flavor. I used all of it to eat my scrambled egg with( ). The employees were very nice here and one of the employees offered me a cookie, specifically the peanut butter one, but I turned it down( ). Overall a good decent breakfast for a very reasonable price.
