Having recently relocated to San Diego and needing my short style cut every 5 weeks I was nervous to try a new stylist. Sarah listened to my preferences, gave me suggestions and made me comfortable. A great haircut including a wonderful scalp massage!

Yes, all the amazing reviews for Sarah are true! I took my 8-​year old daughter there after having read reviews and she LISTENED (yes she not only listens but then has the talent to deliver!!) to what me and my daughter said. I had cut my daughter’s hair because it was getting too long and I told Sarah to clean it up because it’s probably crooked. She said I actually did a good job and she’ll cut a tiny bit since she wants to let it grow out. She layered her bangs and styled it and my daughter looked super cute. She gave us bottled water and made us laugh. Then here’s the clincher, she did NOT charge us anything! She said she didn’t really do much, she said just please come back. Well I brought my 11 year-​old son in and I just went in today for my cut (I have curly hair which needed a boost, love the cut, style-​amazing job!) and she is our new favorite family stylist. The woman listens and asks questions and makes recommendations based on your hair type/​face shape and is a wonder! Her prices are reasonable if she actually charges you, her hair products smell amazing and leave your hair feeling luxurious. Her salon is clean, neat and organized. She even has nice low lighting while washing your hair and gives you a nice neck/​head massage. This is the first time my son has been happy after a haircut in literally years! My husband will have to go there next after his hair grows out from the last butcher job he received. I will never go to anyone else & wish I could have found her sooner! I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Sarah should be proud of craft, must be nice to be so good at what you do. We love you Sarah!

Sarah is an amazing stylist who listens to you and gives you what you want. I just moved to SD and was terrified to find someone new to cut my hair. I’ve had disasters in the past and left in tears. Not with sarah! Sarah heard me out and then made suggestions based on my hair type (curly) and face shape.
I was left with a haircut I love! I am so happy I went to see her. I will defiantly be back.

I was referred to Sarah at Chimera Salon through a friend who has been going there for a couple of years now. All I have to say is «Thank you»!!! Finally I’ve found a stylist who actual listens to what I want done. I have naturally curly hair but I wear it straight, and after I explained the cut I wanted, she repeated back everything I asked for and went to work. My hair looks and feels fabulous and she even recommended a great conditioner for my hair type which has improved its condition :) Very personable and got me in when I needed. Needless to say I’m a fan!

Wish I could give 10 stars. I’m a type who hardly spends any time or money for «beauty stuff». I however have top-​heavy thick long hair that requires a skilled haircutter to layer it properly. I swore to myself, after a couple of bad ones literally butchered it, that nobody but one haircutter would touch my hair EVER.
Well, my usual haircutter is on her maternity leave. Panic time, as I was getting pretty desperate to get my long hair manageable. I decided to give Sarah a shot because of her Unilocal rating, plus the available time was perfect for the schedule for the day.
She is totally down to earth! Never pushed for extra services or products, and she immediately understood my problem of having a manageable volume. One of the best layering job I’ve had. Couldn’t have been happier! Instead of blow styling, she put the sides up for me to show off my natural curls, only possible when it’s layered carefully.
My only wish is that she were a bit closer and available for more hours. But I think it’s totally worth planning ahead to drive up again.

From the first cut to the 100^th, she has consistently done an amazing job on my hair. I look forward to getting my haircut from Sarah every month. From the amazing scalp massage to the custom music selection, Chimera is truly a custom experience. Her pricing is super reasonable and she is great at accommodating changing schedules. There just aren’t enough stars!

First time visiting Sarah she did an excellent job with my hair. I really love that she took her time to listen to what I wanted. She is fun to talk to and very personable.

Sarah was really accommodating on fitting me in for a haircut and highlights before I had to go away for the weekend which was really nice. She really took time to listen to what type of haircut I wanted and you can tell she really keeps up on the latest skills and color.
I really love my color and haircut and am excited to have found my next stylist. Just an fyi, the salon is in the Kohls shopping center.

She listened to my past pros/​con experiences and made great color suggestions. The salon is by appointment and reasonably priced for her experienced service. Sarah is an exceptional hair stylist — very conscientious, creative, and skilled. She made me feel so welcome and really listened to my ideas and concerns re: my hair. She offers great deals, flexible scheduling, and I would highly, highly recommend her to adults and children looking for an exceptional stylist.

I have been following Sarah around for years, from one location to another. She absolutely exceeds every possible expectation as a hairstylist. She is warm and fun to be around too. Many of my friends wives have urged their husbands, to go see MY hairstylist (Sarah) because many around me have noticed the huge improvement in my appearance since I started getting my hair cut by Sarah. She uses the best quality products and urges her clients to use them too, which I can also say partly attributed to my better hair.
I am a performer and in front of people for a living in San Diego. My appearance is extremely important to being able to do what I do for a living and being hired for gigs. Sarah has that extra bit of skill, and extra bit of customer service that has made me very loyal to her service. I can’t imagine getting my haircut by anyone else! So my advice to anyone reading this: ditch the cheap supercut or the barber and go see the difference from a true professional. Her pricing is extremely reasonable, so don’t let that stop you either. As a hairstylist it’s hard to find someone who can cut your hair almost as if you took your head off and cut it yourself, but that is what every hairstylist wishes they could do. Sarah is an awesome hairstylist who listens to their clients and strives to have them smiling when they leave.
