Encinitas Donut House

A typical donut shop in a typical location with a typical selection of donuts. Staff was friendly and seemed to have many regulars. Will return.

No selection. Did not buy anything.

I am always on the hunt for a good buttermilk bar, and this time around, I found me a great one doused a creamy milk chocolate for .90 something cents.
Like I said, the buttermilk bar came heavily laden with rich milk chocolate which formed a nice crust over the doughnut: a crust that melted immediately it the warmth of my mouth which made for some great eating (
). The doughnut inside did not only taste great, but it was very moist and together with the chocolate, I was in bliss for the duration of the doughnut (

They carry your typical doughnuts here, including some mean looking over sized doughnut holes. I did not see any cronuts, but it does not mean they do not make them. The little lady running the shop was very sweet and she made sure she selected a good size butter milk bar for me. They only take cash, but they have an ATM inside that charges fees.

Bear claw all day! The staff is what does it for me. The owners always have a smile on their faces! Cant beat fast & friendly service.

My first impression was that there were quite a few men lingering outside the store which made me consider even getting out of my car. There is no outside seating, these men were not enjoying a donut, they were just loitering– it made me uncomfortable. Not a huge selection but they have the basics. After ordering I see that it’s cash only – I never carry cash! But how fortunate that there is an ATM machine inside this shop– which charges me $ 2.50! I mention to the man working behind the counter that he should get a card reader – I’d rather pay a .50 to .75 cent fee rather than the $ 2.50 PLUS what my bank is going to charge me. He says that people don’t want him to get that. Really?! He’s obviously making a decent amount on the side with this ATM instead of thinking of the cost on his customer. As for the donuts. they weren’t bad, but they all had the taste of coconut. I like coconut but I didn’t want that flavor in every donut. I wouldn’t go back even if I had cash!

Fast, friendly and good product. Encinitas Donut House has a wide selection of donuts that is bound to suit everyone’s donut cravings. I ordered 2 dozen assorted for $ 17 — not bad at all. One down side is that it’s cash only. Bummer.

Your average mom and pop donut shop with all the usuals including the group of older retired men chatting and the donation board that you fill with quarters.

Great for before those early morning baseball games I hit up at San Dieguito Academy. Donuts are fresh and very very yummy

Apple fritter was good. Normal chocolate bar donut. But when you need a donut, these fit the bill nicely!

Really limited selection of donuts.
They don’t have a cruler.
Or a plain glazed.
Or a chocalate glazed.
Taste was… Eh.

OOo everything is made fresh in the wee hours of the early morn.
Gotta try the french cruellers or the ham and cheese croissants.
oh and the people are nice.

She’s not gone but I haven’t been to the Encinitas Donut House in awhile. My son’s getting older.
I would take my son there when he was little as an incentive to get up earlier for school.
Kids love donuts.
