Really excellent service by Rob in the custom framing department. Rob helped us choose the right options for our style while also being patient with our indecisiveness. Thank you!

I actually like this location a lot better than Vista, and Oceanside. It’s more spacious, the aisles seem to be larger, walking through aisles seem to be easier, if someone is in the same aisle as you, you can pass them without invading their space. It seems very well organized here, and few different items for clearance/sale are offered here. Checkout counters are located right by the entrance, but the good thing with them facing the store is the employees can look at everyone/everything in general.

If you’re a crafty, creative, yarn loving person, Michaels is the place for you. Some things this location offers are, holiday decorations, ribbon, yarn, picture frames, canvas with paint supplies, kid activities and fake flowers. There’s a ton more than this but you get the idea… they offer most everything could could want. Only a few things can’t be found at Michaels that you would think would be here, such as cross-stitch pre-printed patterns. They do offer thread and non pre-printed patterns though. Some other Pros are there’s a Michaels app where a ton of coupons can be found almost every day, the sales are awesome when they are happening and the frame workers are really great if you want a custom frame made. So most other reviewers have pointed out, there a often times massive lines for the check out. I have noticed this has been greatly improved on with my last few visits in the store.

A secret weapon for the Martha Stewart type of crafty people in Encinitas. Their inventory of products is both expected and unexpected. A visual mishmash of craft ingredients creates a daunting experience for newbies or those lacking artistic vision. The stark interior with fluorescent lights and white walls contrasts with to the warm, lively craft ingredients. It is l craziness waiting for a creative to interpret inanimate objects and put them into artistic masterpieces. The front of the store is easy pickings for novice crafters, silk flowers, bows and little baskets can easily be assembled by anyone. If tying a bow around a candle cures your creative appetite, there are plenty of crafts for you. If you have the courage to delve deeper into into the unknown, you will find treasures and inspiration challenging the right brain matter. The creative brain imagines how the colors and textures interact and dives past the obvious. True art transcends literal or reproductive pieces and encourages innovative spatial relationships. If your artistic vision is less linear, you will likely need to supplement the mainstream media with alternatives like found treasures and specialized fabrics. Michael’s has you covered when it comes to paint, ribbon, ornaments, seasonal garnish and oasis’. Whether you are decorating for a party or trailblazing into surreal imagery, Michaels is an obvious stop.

I love Michael’s, but THIS store is the worst in terms of checking out!!! I think it’s great that they hire retirees, & it’s not like I’m always in a hurry, BUTEVERYTIME I do go in to buy something(this time 1 glue gun), I have to wait 20 mins MINIMUM before reaching the cashier, then another 10 to finish the transaction. There’s always at least 5 – 7 people in EACH line, this is seriously THESLOWESTSTOREANYWHERE! I dread going here. I go once a year for ONE thing & I always end up leaving my stuff on a shelf & leaving.

So full of crafting items. Stay away during the Holidays, it is crazy and they never seem to have the line thing worked out. Staff is light if you need help and hard to find. Great deals on frames and shadow boxes especially if you use their 50% off coupons. I used to be a regular in here when I was scrapbooking my son’s life but now I just don’t have the time. I do come here for anything crafting I need or paint supplies. I like to try small acrylics sometimes first before I buy in large amounts. They have so many choices of paper, glues, baskets, candles and decorations. I love being crafty and this is the place to go when you need supplies.

I come here time and time again, looking for supplies when I get suckered into some craft project. The store generally has some form of the item that I’m looking for, but it often takes me a while to figure out exactly what I need. I’m not sure if it’s just me being unfamiliar with the products out there or if the store itself could be more user friendly. There have been a number of times that I’ve asked an employee for a specific item and often they can point me in the right direction but have trouble finding it. I’m a bit skeptical and/or tenacious so after being told«No, we don’t have it» I usually linger around and can find it on my own. I like using the weekly coupons– usually 40% off. But sometimes I wonder if everything is just marked up 50%?

This place is great! I have found that this location is much bigger than the other previous locations that I have been to. I found this Michael’s to have much more in stock and since I am planning an event in June I found many things that I could use! I was inspired by a lot of their merchandise and I did not leave empty handed. I hope to be back soon to take advantage of the sales that are going on.

BEFOREYOUREADANYTHINGELSE, DOWNLOADTHEMICHAELSAPP! 40%-50% off coupons, can I get a what what! That is the reason why come to Michael’s over a specialty craft store. If they didn’t have the coupons, it would just be a store with a dingy warehouse feel without the warehouse prices. I am a knitter(Word UP to my knittazs!!!), but unfortunately I don’t purchase any of my yarn here. I hate the selection. If your looking to start a new craft and need the basic supplies I would probably come here, but if you’re a little bit more experienced I would try finding a specialty store. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor.

It pains me to go to this Michaels location. 9⁄10 id rather pay more at some other store to avoid coming here but sometimes it is the only place that carries what I need for a project. The store is way too small for the amount of merchandise they have crammed in. I feel like all the aisles are falling in on me. The customer service is terrible. IF you can find someone to help you, they either can’t actually help you at all or are rude. And the checkout is the worst! Lines are almost always 5 – 7 people deep with only 2 lanes open. Took me 15 mins to check out this am. The only saving grace is the mobile coupons.

If you love to craft you will love Michaels! It has its ups and downs, but in general there is a great variety of things to buy here. Make sure you look online on the Michele’s website first for the monthly coupon, because there is always one available! There also also usually a ton of price cuts and deals on multiple items here. Just browse around a little and you can find great markdowns! The reason I gave it 3 stars is because it feels disorganized and messy usually, and the lines take a REALLY long time. They are sweet employees, but very very slow. It’s easier when you know what you are already looking for because stuff is pretty scattered throughout the store
