Roll OutThe Barrell Charity Event by Meritage

This is an event that Meritage in Encinitas puts on once a year in July to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.
They have numerous wineries that offer up their wines for tasting. This is a great way to discover wines you may not be familiar with. Some of the wineries that participate are Silver Oak, Saddleback, Duckhorn, Pisoni and so many more. There is also food tasting from many of the local restaurants such as Sage Grill, Savory, Firenze, and Pacific Coast Grill.
I dig events like this because I get a chance to discover new restaurants and indulge in wonderful new wine without having to buy a bottle. I think my favorite wine that I tasted was the Silver Oak. Something that I wouldn’t normally have ever experienced because it’s pretty pricey. But now I have a great wine idea for those special occasions.
The event last time cost $ 50.00 and includes as many tastes and food samples that you can fit in to a 6 hour span. (good thing I live close by). The cost is worth it. You more than get your moneys worth and it’s for a good cause.
If you have a chance to attend this event this coming July I would say go for it!
